I heard it on Radio1 yesterday and I really did not like it - and public reaction was not good either! (Lots of my ears are bleedin' texts!) To me, the song sounds dated and I thought that after having a year to write the album it might be ok!

I am fully aware of how bad smoking is for me. I understand that if I smoke it will kill me. But I don't smoke because I am aware of that. Don't tell me to live with it - I am in agreement that the Smoking Ban is really great (especially for non smokers like me) BUT I don't understand how this can take effect so quickly and how they can measure it. Like already stated, smoking has a long term effect on people and it can't be measured in 18 months.

procisely! B) and I don't know anyone who has given up smoking because of the ban, they just sit outside. In the summer it is quite nice to go outside in your break at work or so on, but I think that it will be a very different story in a few months time :lol:

Yep thats it - I sit at home desperately waiting for some bad news to fall upon the country. :puke2: No - I just think that 17% is a massive amount and I'm not sure how they can attribute this to the smoking ban so quickly? Surely someone who had been smoking all their life until 2003 (when they could only smoke outside) will be too far along the road to a heart attack? I am also slightly cynical about government produced statistics for this sort of thing as we do not know exactly how they gained this information etc.

Agreed - I'm sure that it has a great effect and I (as a non smoker) do enjoy the smoke free atmosphere in bars, clubs and restaurants; but it just sounds like a government manipulated statement/statistic to me!

When I went to see Jimmy Carr live he said "If you have to look about the audience to check whos in the theatre before saying the joke, then you shouldn't say it!! :lol: " I totally agree, but if you are a good enough comedian then you should be able to make a slightly risky joke in the knowledge that both you and the audience understand that it is said in jest and is ironic. I love Jimmy Carr because his routine (when he isn't just hosting a show on tv) is much more than just one liners; he breaks the show up with weird and wonderful stuff which is great. He says that what he loves most is when people laugh at a joke and then it sinks in that it isn't that nice and they then say "ooooh!" I don't think that he is racist, sexist, homophobic or anything else because his jokes tend to centre around a word play or an observation and not actually on the person in question.

10 PTS - N K I J H B C A M 1 PT - E (in regards to the idea that people vote for the member not the cover there is one way to change that - we pm them to mikey and he posts them so its anonymous. but that makes a lot more work for mikey and i don't think it's necessary. when i have done the odd good cover i have got good points. there have been times when i've felt that my cover should have done better, but i don't know what people are looking for! i never vote for a particular member, but i think that when someone finds a winning formula they stick to it. but then so would i - if i found that doing the same sort of cover meant i won, then i would stick with it for a bit!! *i just need to find a formula!* :lol: )

Last things I bought were Big Train (an old sketch show with Simon Pegg and Mark Heap in), Bodies series 2 (which is the best best best hospital drama ever and it has the gorgeous Max Beesley in!) Currently I'm watching Black Books - if you haven't seen it, it is really cheap on amazon and it's brilliant!!

I always get sad when they are in the basement and they have to leave Ed at The Winchester - even though I've seen it a hundred times and I know how it ends :lol:

I hated it. But then I knew I would!! If you like quickly thrown together obvious slap you in the face comedy then this one is for you :lol: I just found the whole film so cheesy, predictable and unfunny. But then I find most films like that unfunny. Although I laughed when she said I'm pregnant and he said with emotion?!

Ohhh watch Shaun of the Dead - it's a great late night film :D

I have to say... and I hate saying this because I really hate being wrong. I made the assumption that the McCanns were normal, nice, law abiding people and argued that their only (very massive) error was negligance. But I read an article in The Sun about them at work yesterday and all the photos were completely posed for and they hardly looked like they were grieving the loss of their daughter. As you say, they've made a hell of a lot of money from the press I imagine. And if/when they are arrested the gutter press won't turn on them quickly. They hate to be proved wrong even more than me :lol:
