  6. Earlier this month Delta teamed up with Olivia Newton-John in Byron Bay to record a song for Olivia's Great Wall of China walk. Gotta Be Right Here With You is a song to encourage other cancer sufferers to believe they can successfully fight the illness. The 228km fundraising walk begins on April 7th and Olivia will be joined by the likes of Cliff Richard, Jane Seymour and a host of celebrities which will raise money for Olivia's Cancer Centre Appeal. Olivia, who was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1992, spoke of what it was like to work with Delta: "Delta's been through a lot for her years. She's like my daughter - very composed, very smart, very talented. I suggested the song to her. It was a big ask, but the answer came back yes and I was absolutely thrilled. I didn't actually expect she would be available to do it, but Delta created the melody and I wrote the lyrics." "It's a real empathy song, and I hope when people listen to it that it will inspire them, and give them hope that you can go through these things and come out the other end. It's about saying: 'Don't give up, here I am, I've been through that same journey.'" Delta, who at only 18 was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma in 2003, talked about how the collaboration with a woman she's idolised since her youth was a dream come true: "We had the most beautiful weekend together recording. We talked about everything. We're really spiritually connected in so many ways and on so many levels. We both feel it, and in the song we sing about it. It's a very special bond." Talking about her experience with cancer: "I saw and felt things I'd never seen before - extreme pain, extreme sickness. I was just a baby. It was a big emotional thing to go through." She recorded the song with Olivia to share the triumph of her recovery, and to let people struggling to beat the disease know that life can, and does, go on: "It's exciting that we're doing it for such a wonderful cause. It worked so well because Olivia's great with lyrics and I came in with the melody. And I hope that when people hear it they listen to the lyrics and understand. We want to raise awareness that you need to check yourself. If you catch the disease early, you can do something about it." Delta talks about an inspirational quote she recently found: "..That we were all born with rainbows, but that life takes over and the colours start to fade a little. We all need to have those moments where we bring them back." You can support Olivia on her walk by visiting www.greatwalktobeijing.com and read more of this interview in New Idea magazine out now. 8. oh so dvd's dont count! thanks for that yeh kylie got 1 with X and then dropped off the chart. also hit the top with 2 hearts
  9. i think In This Life is a great first single. first singles are generally to get your name out there, she will follow up with Believe Again or YWOBMH which will do better as she is kind of known. i agree, i think that most of her number ones should be included on this album. but i dont see it happening. even if she put one or two on each of the next 3 albums. even if they are not released as singles, they are still amazing live! Delta is being released in the UK and europe because i read an article where that Dennis from Sony said that people from US, Japan and UK/Europe came to sydney for a showcase and all signed deals for its release (article was recent but this occured one or two months ago) the ideal tracklist for 'Delta' in the US would be 1.Believe Again 2. In This Life 3. Born To Try 4.Innocent eyes (maybe reworked) 5.You Will Only Break My Heart 6. Not Me Not I 7. Breath in Breath Out 8. Predictable 9. Posessionless 10. Cant Break it to my heart 11. Out Of the blue 12. Angels in the room (but only if it gets picked up by Greys, if it doesnt then i would say... the guardian) im no good with the order but i like those songs!
  10. i thought she would have had 13.. Singles 1.Born To Try 2.Lost Without You 3. Innocent Eyes 4. Not Me Not I 5. Predictable 6. Out Of The Blue 7. Almost Here 8. In This Life Albums 9. Innocent Eyes 10. Mistaken Identity 11. Delta Dvds 1. Delta 2. Visualise tour maybe Almost here didnt count??

  14. i just did a google search and found this. i was so thrilled Press Releases 02.14.2008 Five-Time GRAMMY-Winner Michael McDonald; Top-Selling Australian Female Vocalist Delta Goodrem To Perform At NARM 50th Gala Universal Motown's Michael McDonald and Decca Records' Delta Goodrem will entertain attendees of the National Association Of Recording Merchandisers' 50th Anniversary Convention during the Association's Gala Dinner to be held on Wednesday, May 7 at the San Francisco Marriott. "NARM is elated to have such impressive talent join us for an evening celebrating the Association's, as well as the industry's, past, present and future," said NARM President Jim Donio. "Both Universal Motown and Decca Records have been large supporters of past NARM Conventions, and we look forward to continuing that relationship again this year." "We are very proud to have Michael McDonald perform at this year's 50th Anniversary Gala Dinner," said Pat Monaco, Universal Motown. "NARM has been a staunch supporter of great music and we appreciate this opportunity to have one of the most recognizable artists in music today to help celebrate their 50th." A fixture in American Pop music for the past three decades, Michael McDonald was part of music history in the 1970s with both Steely Dan and the Doobie Brothers and in 1982 began using his signature baritone vocals to carve a legendary solo career that earned him five GRAMMY Awards. McDonald will showcase his latest endeavor, "Soul Speak," which is being released March 11. This collection of interpretations is the story of McDonald's musical life, of the thoughts and sounds and influences that helped shape his renowned career. "Soul Speak," which also includes three original songs by McDonald, is the natural follow-up to McDonald's two smash explorations of the Motown Records songbook — the platinum-selling "Motown" from 2003, which was nominated for two Grammy awards, and the next year's gold-selling "Motown Two." At 23, Delta Goodrem has already achieved success well beyond her years. As Australia's highest-selling female vocalist ever, Goodrem has amassed eight number one singles in her native country. She has also garnered top positions on the charts in both the United Kingdom and Japan, making her a multi-million selling artist worldwide. She is now poised to match her international success in the United States with the release of her Decca debut, "Delta." The new album, which is scheduled for release in June, is a collection of 12 songs dealing with life, love, and relationships. "Decca is very excited to have the opportunity to present Delta Goodrem at NARM, and introduce her to the Association's community. It is always gratifying to showcase our artists during the convention, particularly with such an outstanding, young talent as Delta." said Gerry Kopecky, Decca Records. NARM's 50th Anniversary Convention will be held Sunday, May 4, through Wednesday, May 7, at the San Francisco Marriott. i cant wait to see the new clip of In this life! they are promoting delta as a true live singer and she is doing showcases all over america. Brad from the official forum found that out (not official). i found the official press release (which is dated before Delta and sony BMG US split, suggesting delta signed with the new label and then gave sony the flick..) :w00t:

  23. Nate88 posted a post in a topic in Pop and Country
they just dumped delta from their US label... i think they may have in the uk a few years back also but i think it was due to Delta getting annoyed at them for not releasing her album
  24. Nate88 posted a post in a topic in Pop and Country
i think what it boiled down to was that delta was unhapy they were not releasing the music. therefore they agreed to let eachother go. it would have been her putting presure on
  25. Nate88 posted a post in a topic in Pop and Country
maybe they didnt want to promote it because delta wrote it?? pricks..
