  1. I really enjoyed it. Whilst there could have been more action I like that it showed back story and the team coming together. It also allows for a potential sequal to go in on the action with potentially only one new character to flesh out. I loved the little nods to the history of the show. Mentioning the main names of other Seasons main cities as parts of Angel Grove was a nice touch. I'm not sure what people were expecting. If you want it to be like the TV show watch the TV show it's still on the air. If like a lot of people you can't see past the end of Mighty Morphin' or even up till the cast change in Season 2 it's on Netflix their are DVD's watch those. There were some interesting editing choices in the movie but it held my attention and I think it hit the right note between being dark enough for an older audience to enjoy and still have some of the humour for the nostalgia factor.
  2. Yay! Let's hope Season 8 makes an appearance soon too. (+Season 1 and both All Stars)

Maybe the BBC will grab it back.

Razer (with an e, sorry it irrationally annoys me when people spell it wrong) The team didn't enter Series 9. I believe they are building something new for series 10. I think a lot of the teams from the original era that competed in Series 8 weren't too successful against the new era of robots. Also a lot of the new teams are picked due to featuring children and women and getting a new breed of people into robotics and the science it takes to put them together, however I think some of the choices from the ones that make the TV show are questionable as some are taken out with one hit . A lot of team members from previous teams have entered as part of new teams. M.R. Speed Squared from tonight was also a previous competitor from the original era, they entered with Trouble 'n' Strife. Also from tonight Heavy Metal previously entered with Limpet in Series 2, and perhaps more memorably with 13 Black from Series 5-7. I was slightly confused by Heavy Metal, I thought the bar was a spinner, not a grabber thing. I am not sure what that was. It had amazing pushing power, I think with some tweaks it could be successful in the future. I hope with Series 10 we will see some more resistance to spinners. As they aren't allowed in the live events due to most of the arenas not being safe for them, a lot of the robots aren't prepared from spinners. The Ironside3 and Meggamouse teams both come from the Velocirippa and Mighty Mouse team. Carbide one of the team entered with Tiberius in the original run. The history is there, but perhaps slightly hidden.

Unfortunately looking at the line ups (even without as they showed 1 on 1 battles) there was some big spoilers in the previews for episodes 4 +5. I still can't get over them putting last years top 2 in the same heat.
  7. West Brom 0-2 Arsenal Crystal Palace 1-1 Watford Everton 1-2 Hull Stoke 1-2 Chelsea Sunderland 1-0 Burnley West Ham 2-1 Leicester Bournemouth 1-1 Swansea Middlesbrough 0-2 Man Utd Tottenham 3-1 Southampton Man City 2-1 Liverpool
  8. It's hard to not see this as a cynical ploy for votes on Russia's part

  10. Coming for last place in the semi final.
  11. 8th in the final.
  12. My point is, if cutting the heats from 8 acts to 7 was to increase quality, it hasn't worked. As in most of them since the change the bottom 2 has been obvious before anyone sings, yes you get the occasional surprise, but in a year like this with less than steller presenters it feels like they are filling the gap of the 8th song with shit. My other point with the andra chansen songs is. Despite doubling the amount of songs getting through, this year none of them made any impact on the leader board. I do think they should go back to 10 songs in the final, as the votes going to two of the andra chansen songs (that all ended up bottom 5) could actually change the outcome of the final result. The 61 points I Don't Give A and Her Kiss (the bottom 2 with the Swedish public) could in theory change the result.
  13. I am hoping this could surprise us all and do something special in May. However a Top 15 placing would be an amazing achievement for Lucie and the UK (Although still written off by the media.)
  14. I don't think reducing from 8 to 7 has cut the no hopers out. In 3 of the four heats this year there was such an obvious bottom 2 it hurt and in two of those three there was a pretty obvious 5th place as well.
  15. Proof that andra chansen should only provide two finalists since all four finished in the bottom 5. I still don't understand why, cut the heats from 8-7 and increase the finalists from 10-12
  16. The video is awful. I showed it to my mum after we finished MelFest, she said I'll close my eyes like I do when I see Rag'n'Bone Man so I can try and enjoy it.
  17. How did Lisa come last in the public vote?
  18. Amazing final so close. Think I have my mum hooked for next year
  19. It's not a runaway with the juries. Glad to see Boogie Man Blues dying in the juries though. Be interesting to see how the public vote plays out. Didn't Oscar only come third on it last year?
  20. My mum pointed out that Mariette looks like Carla from Cheers and I can't not see it.
  21. Robin is my favourite so far.
  22. It's not as good as Busy Doing Nothing. My mum wants to know who styled her.
  23. Got my mum watching this tonight.

Frankie and Rochelle have 2 each. I think Hannah has 2 or 3. I believe Daisy has 1, it's hard to tell. Stacey I don't think has any yet. The boys... I don't think children will be in their future outside of adoption or surrogacy. So we have at least 6 and Hannah has at least one boy, so we have our boy quota of 3.
  25. Man City 2-1 Stoke well that was wrong. Bournemouth 1-3 West Ham Everton 2-1 West Brom Hull 1-2 Swansea Liverpool 2-1 Burnley
