iTunes Weekly Thread W/C 12th April 2015
More personal taste than double standards. I find the rap monotonous and without emotion, and the sung vocals of a sub-Sam Smith quality, I do think they work well together (a rarity for a rap/sung combination for me), but just find the quality very low.

OCC Launch Official Vinyl Charts
Perhaps the worst thing about the vinyl revival is the coining of the word "vinyls"!

OCC Launch Official Vinyl Charts
While I can see some demand for Albums in this format, a vinyl singles chart, particularly one of 40 places, seems like overkill. What sort of numbers would the Number 40 vinyl single sell in a week? Single figures?

Unluckiest #2's?
What's the difference? As far as I can tell, those two words are virtual synonyms

It's probably not in their powers to get Apple to pull the cover version

They should be obligated to play it, but past evidence has shown that they will play the "original" instead.

I heard "Jealous" for the first time yesterday and really can't see what all the fuss is about - it's a fairly average song, the production has nothing to recommend it and the vocals, while there is probably a reason that most of the time his singing needs to be multi-tracked and have tons of effect applied to it. Definitely would prefer a third week for Jess Glynne.

One Hit Wonders of the Millennium
I wasn't expecting him to read it out to be honest, I don't think I would in his position unless he knew that "Buzzjack" was kosher. He certainly wouldn't have read it out if I'd abbreviated it to BJ!!!!

One Hit Wonders of the Millennium
Was it even ever properly released?

One Hit Wonders of the Millennium
Bit of an anti-climax for the last song to be honest. Yes, it's OK and would have felt at home say 20 minutes ago, but they should have had something really dramatic to finish with. Perhaps swapping it with "Glorious" would have been better, or even had "Let It Go" for the finale!

One Hit Wonders of the Millennium
My memory must be playing tricks with me, I thought "In This City" was considerably more upbeat than this.

One Hit Wonders of the Millennium
Just got back in, sent Dev a text and got Buzzjack a mention!

One Hit Wonders of the Millennium
Don't think I've listened to Radio 1 for 6 hours straight for years. Maybe even decades! Off out to enjoy the sunshine, hope Daisy Dares You gets a play later.

Whoops! You know what i mean!

One Hit Wonders of the Millennium
That "on hold" thing may have been remotely funny the first time, but the second and now the third, no. Just get on with it. Even if "it" is Mike Posner.

"Hey There Delilah" - Really well-crafted pop song. Referring back to Sam Sparro, I think I bought the CD of his album in the Woolworths closing down sale for about 20p. Apart from "Black & Yellow", that's about what it's worth.

There you go Bre, "An Honest Mistake". Sounding pretty good too.

One Hit Wonders of the Millennium
The Gossip, sorry just Gossip now, are a band that I would have thought had more than just the one Top 20.

One Hit Wonders of the Millennium
Gareth Malone was only a featured credit on the Military Wives song. I just thought it would be good to hear Alice introduce a song on which she herself sang on.
-
One Hit Wonders of the Millennium
Surely during the Alice Levine portion they could play Gareth Malone's All Star Choir's version of "Wake Me Up"?

One Hit Wonders of the Millennium
"Million Voices" still does nothing for me.

One Hit Wonders of the Millennium
Vanessa Carlton would also be part of another (by the criteria used today) One Hit Wonder, as she warbled a bit on a version of Counting Crows' version (if you see what I mean) of "Big Yellow Taxi".

Of Monsters And Men!

One Hit Wonders of the Millennium
No, because they had 2 other Top 20 singles.

One Hit Wonders of the Millennium
Excellent piece of power pop, from a very good album indeed. Shame we didn't hear much more of One Night Only.
