Thanks, that was exactly the sort of thing I was looking for.

OfficialCharts.com has received a long-awaited revamp
Looks very good on a first glance. How far do the Top 100s go back? Do they go back to when there were exclusion criteria from the "next 25"? Looks like a lot of data to add to my database, I will keep the "virtual book" threads based on Top 75 until I've reached the end in December, than I intend to expand to include data from the top 100 if I've typed everything up in time! I'm sure this will mean a whole host of pretty obscure artists will have to have entries!

Perhaps you need to disregard the official chart and refer to the MTV chart that someone makes up posts on another thread

Virtual Book of Hit Singles - "L"
Batch 50, and a group dominated by female singers. Jennifer Lopez, Pixie Lott, Louise, Demi Lovato, Lolly & Lorde all appear here Most weeks by a group in this batch are by the almost-forgotten Loose Ends with top male soloist being Hank Locklin. Love Affair reached number one, as did Los Lobos & Lord Rockinghams XI, and Lisa Left-Eye Lopes managed it as a featured singer on a Mel C track. That just leaves dual Eurovision winner Johnny Logan, whose two winning songs made Number 1 and 2, but never made the Top 50 as a performer again.

OfficialCharts.com has received a long-awaited revamp
Sounds like the OCC chart archive will finally be worthy of its name! http://www.officialcharts.com/chart-news/t...charts.com-3488

Predict: Alex Adair "Make Me Feel Better"
The instrumental bits are far better than the uninspiring vocals, particularly what sounds quite like synthesized xylophone.

iTunes Weekly Thread W/C 8th February 2015
Agreed - just plain annoying. Other people do it as well - "Sir Newman" and "chart saviour John Legend". May have been funny/interesting the first time but to carry it on for months....

Streaming to count towards albums chart
It isn't actually boosting sales. It might boost *sales numbers* but not the sales themselves.

Come on Ariana!
Although it has dropped out of the Top 75 this week

I think you're being generous in referring to it as average.

Act(s) with the most Top 40 hits as a featured artist?
Only 4 for Guetta and 2 for Harris as far as I can see.

Act(s) with the most Top 40 hits as a featured artist?
She wasn't credited on the charts on "Hey Now (Mean Muggin')"

This Week's Top 20 2015 (MTV Music - UK and Ireland)
OK, so now I know this is a made-up chart. On what realistic basis would Ne-Yo be number one? Seriously, what is the point?

Virtual Book of Hit Singles - "L"
Working on this right now, Leigh Francis' three alter-egos should probably be combined into one entry, but has anyone any ideas whether they should be collated to Avid Merrion, Bo Selecta or Keith Lemon (or even, in a rare move, collected under his real name even though he hasn't had a hit under that)? "Footprints In The Sand" - yes, but I have a bug in the part of the software which pumps out the "peaked in ..." if its was significantly different from the original entry. I'll come back and have a look at that one later. I haven't found any membership details for Little Caesar, will have to leave it as generic as possible for now. Anyway, as I'm doing a post now I might as well do the brief round-up here as well rather than create another post. Featured artist-in-chief Lil Wayne has had more US Billboard Hot 100 hits than anyone else in history (even Elvis) but here he is not in that league but he has the most weeks on chart of the next 100 acts, 258 compared to Linkin Park's 166 (boosted this week of course). The only others in 3 figures are Lightning Seeds (courtesy of course of the various "Three Lions" runs) and Little Richard , who is still active even in his 80s. Will Little Mix still be active in their 80s? Probably not, but they're next with 95 weeks and should easily break the 100 with their next release. Other "Lil's" include Lil Jon (who I'd forgotten was on a Number One) and Lil Kim (who I'd remembered was on a Number One). Limp Bizkit also had a plesantly surprising Number One, as did Livin' Joy, while Cher Lloyd had a depressingly predictable one. Lieutenant Pigeon made Number One with a novelty record, Lillywood & Robin Schulz with a more mainstream record and set a record of sorts with one of the most confusing sequence of artist credits in recent memory. If Schulz appears on the chart under his own name (rather than just as a remixer) he will be stripped out of this section and appear within the "S" group. One more question - Tove Lo. Best filed under "T" or "L"?

Come on Ariana!

This Week's Top 20 2015 (MTV Music - UK and Ireland)
Is this based on anything, or is it just a made up chart. I can't see how "Uptown Funk" is down at 11 on any reasonable criteria.

I must admit I assumed that ML Dangerous was simply a new name for Eric Blob.

Virtual Book of Hit Singles - "L"
Hopefully all the above corrected, and Part 48 now added. I've tried to summarise the LaRoux situation as best I can but if someone has a better way of pitting it, please do. One of my favourite dance records is in this batch, "Thou Shalt Always Kill" by Dan le Sac & Scroobius Pip. Plenty of other dance-y type stuff in this back, e.g. LCD Soundsystem (which now I think of it, following my rules should have been in the first group of Ls!), Fedde le Grand, Lemon Jelly... Another group here are the talent show alumni - Lemar (who had a longer hitmaking career than I remembered), Leona Lewis & Liberty X We also have a couple of legends - Led Zeppelin & John Lennon, plus a Legend (John of course), Brit-hogging Annie Lennox, some boy bands (Lawson & Let Loose) and some indie favourites (Levellers, Lemonheads) Lethal Bizzle (should he be an L or a B?) would have been credited with one more hit had the OCC mentioned him for "Flutes" as they should have done, Level 42 turned from Jazz-Funk cool kids into the blandest of the bland, Jona Lewie had another of the more underappreciated Christmas classics (see Greg Lake in last week's batch), while the most weeks on chart of anyone in this group was Little Miss Dynamite, Brenda Lee. Help Needed Can anyone sort out who were in Little Caesar (if that was a band) and Live Element for next week's batch please? I assume there must have been either two Live Element's or two Chris Malinchak's, as the timeline doesn't work to put them together as often found on Google. As usual, any other additions/corrections please welcome.

Virtual Book of Hit Singles - "K"
All updated again to take into account the above, plus updated to last chart of January which enables Kygo featuring Conrad to be added. Re "Defying Gravity" - the original source I used for my charts listed just Kristin, as does the last Virgin book and the OCC archive. Polyhex does to, but also adds her surname. I can't find any source that indicates Idina Menzel was credited on the chart, although I don't have a real primary source (chartscans data ends before this made the charts) 1000 Drums etc. - I will refer to this when I get to the "O" section Kenickie - I put "brother & sister" as it just sounds better than "sister & brother", and then it followed that Pete would be listed first Carole King - it looks like the UK version was as A side with a B side but the US release was treated as a double A side

I hope it flops, just for that stupid ^ character in between the two artists names. Fickle, I know.
