  1. Thanks Bre, probably just a cock-up on the first run and a typo on the 2nd. Will investigate later.
  2. At then we get down to where uncredited performances are disputed, such as Jack White's alleged performance on "Danger! (High Voltage)" I'll probably do my usual and fudge it, by mentioning things like Dido's (sampled) uncredited role on "Stan" but leave a whole lot out
  3. Noted, thank you. I will take at least 1 & 3 into account, thinking of the pros and cons of noting too many uncredited vocalists before commiting to doing no. 2
  4. And this was a particularly bad cover version of "Waterloo Sunset". For someone who went on to have a prolific songwriting career, this is something of an embarrassment in her discography, surely?
  5. We are back! Still not got the sling off but I am allowed to use from the wrist down so I can do a lot more on the computer including use of the touchpad so I can copy & paste sufficiently to get this moving again. As a bonus today's edition is a double post, which encompasses parts 11 & 12 taking the alphabet from Brand New to the Bystanders, and thus to the end of the B's. Hopefully I have taken on board all the corrections helpfully posted in this thread, please let me know if I haven't done so and of course any errors on the "new" material.
  6. In contrast to most of the opinions, I find "Better Off Alone" to be a truly awful record, made even more evident by those records immediately around it on this countdown
  7. Yep, agreed 24 weeks for Rihanna., Only Elvis, Beatles, Cliff, Shadows, Frankie Laine, Abba, Madonna & Take That have more all-time (well since 1952 to be honest)
  8. Takes longer to read the chart run for that one that it would to read the lyric sheet
  9. What a completely horrible cover version. Perhaps it's just that this song doesn't lend itself to alternative versions - even Counting Crows made a complete mess of it.
  10. Surprised to see nothing at all from Ireland this year so far

And both the OCC & Music Week omit Katie Lopez
  12. Update - I've had a fairly lengthy op and am now in a recovery period. My left handed typing is improving all the time and my right arm may be out of the sling in the next 10 days or so, so I'm hoping to resume this by the end of the month at the latest.

No. Don't change history. Besides, the various bodies can't even agree on some of the artist credits on today's hits (e.g "Do You Want To Build A Snowman"), how much chance do you think there would be of agreeing who should be credited on hits from 20 years ago?
  14. Sorry everyone, there's going to have to be a pause with this for a couple of weeks, I had a bit of an accident yesterday that has left me with a shattered right shoulder. I am typing this message one-finger left-handed so am not able to do enough to give justice to the data. Normal service will be resumed when possible

And there's no evidence that even all those twitter followers are that bothered about sales figures (particularly of old songs); I expect most of them are more concerned about this week's charts
  16. A new Oasis single would still be big news now, so I have to disagree with you about all the Oasis ones.
  17. Typical Eric Blob exaggeration.
  18. If "Everything Is Awesome" could be a hit I don't see why not (with the proper promotion of course)
  19. How about a number one and a million seller - "Killing Me Softly" by Fugees
  20. How many people would spend another 99p to buy something exactly the same as what they have already, just to try to nudge a chart position?

    A what?
  22. Shame. That would have been interesting, unlike "Braveheart"

More than double purchased "Look At Me"?

No, it was just gratuitous abuse.

    Arguably bigger than One Direction?
