  1. I think I might be the only poster around here who deoesn't give a flying fig for the album chart.
  2. Yes, you're right Andy Stewart - A Scottish Soldier - (40 Weeks) 14/01/1961 -46-21-{19}-26-27-26-28-29-29-26-34-32-27-34-39-31-26-25-32-29-29-34-37-29-29-30-31-31-32-29-19-24-26-24-25-27-28-43-x(1)-45-43
  3. AGGRO SANTOS Brazilian male rapper, born Yuri Santos, 12/10/89 15 May 10 Candy (Aggro Santos featuring Kimberly Wyatt) 5 18 wks 04 Sep 10 Saint Or Sinner 19 4 wks 29 Jan 11 Like U Like (Aggro Santos featuring Kimberley Walsh) 8 5 wks Total Hits : 3 Total Weeks : 27 87BXqO9iENY vaY6wX7dXFE A rare Brazilian entry into the UK charts although he had been long resident in London. He must have had a thing for Kim W's, as the featured artists on his two biggest hits are Kims Wyatt (Pussycat Dolls) and Walsh (Girls Aloud) As the current series of "I'm A Celebrity..." is just starting, I had forgotten that Santos had appeared on the 2010 series, finishing 6th (the top two were fellow chart stars Stacey Solomon and ex-Happy Mondays frontman Shaun Ryder)
  4. "Pump Up The Volume" was technically a double A-side with "Anitina (The First Time I See She Dance)". I suspect not many sales were for the latter. aE5T2NNj0tI
  5. "China In Your Hand" was recognised at the time as the 600th UK Number One. It is in my Top 50 of all time.
  6. LADY ANTEBELLUM American male/female vocal/instrumental group - Dave Haywood, Charles Kelley & Hillary Scott. They have won 7 Grammy awards out of 13 nominations 08 May 10 Need You Now 15 46 wks 27 Aug 11 Just A Kiss 78 2 wks Total Hits : 2 Total Weeks : 48 eM213aMKTHg It's never been easy for American country artists to have a sustained UK chart career, but plenty have had the odd hit here or there and Lady Antebellum are one of those acts. It took over two years after the chart debut for "Need You Now" to reach it's UK peak, and even that was nearly a year after the original US release. The song made No. 2 in the Billboard Top 100 and topped their genre charts for Adult Contemporary, Adult Top 40 and Hot Country Songs, and fininshed 2nd in the Billboard 2010 year-end chart. They changed their name to "Lady A" in June 2020 due to the association of "Antebellum" with the slavery era of the Southern United States.
  7. Starship only 0.1 higher than The Firm? Scandalous!
  8. JODIE CONNOR British female singer, born 8/5/81 08 May 10 Good Times (Roll Deep featuring Jodie Connor) 1 18 wks 29 Jan 11 Now Or Never (Jodie Connor featuring Wiley) 14 4 wks 05 Mar 11 Bring It (Jodie Connor featuring Tinchy Stryder) 37 6 wks Total Hits : 3 Total Weeks : 28 dEGnYyKib9E Xm2gqeIR5io Jodie was closely associated with the 2010-1 British Rap Scene, all three of her chart appearances are joint credits with artists from that genre. Several years before, she was a contestant in the early stages of the 2nd series of "Pop Idol", the one won by Michelle McManus but was eliminated before the final 12 After her hits, she just seemed to fade away. Wikipedia mentions a couple of singles in 2012 (including one featuring Busta Rhymes) that did nothing, and one more in 2016 but that's about it.
  9. FYFE DANGERFIELD British male singer/songwriter/guitarist, born Fyfe Antony Dangerfield Hutchins, 7/7/80. He is also the lead singer of the Guillemots 08 May 10 She's Always A Woman To Me 7 18 wks Total Hits : 1 Total Weeks : 18 sy5sGcNLD4c The Guillemots had five top 50 hits between 2006 and 2008, with the highest peaking of them being "Get Over It" making No. 20 in 2008. Lead singer Fyfe Dangerfield beat that when his cover of a Billy Joel song made the top 10 after being used in a John Lewis advert. Joel's version was also in the charts at the same time. For the week they both entered, Joel was No. 25 and Dangerfield was way down at No. 99, but the week after the relative positions were flipped and the Englishman's version became the better seller.

That didn't go to well for the Angels, did it?
  13. The Berlin "Count Three & Play" album was very good, "Take My Breath Away" was probably the lowlight of the whole record. "Like Flames" was the best track.
  14. DIANA VICKERS British female singer/songwriter, born 30/7/91. She finished 4th in the 2008 series of "The X Factor" 01 May 10 Once 1 11 wks 17 Jul 10 The Boy Who Murdered Love 36 6 wks 30 Oct 10 My Wicked Heart 13 4 wks 03 Aug 13 Cinderella 76 1 wk Total Hits : 4 Total Weeks : 22 rpkxgDpCyAc He4vgqumVKE Another of my favourites. I don't watch the X-Factor or other similar talent shows very much, but I saw one of Diana's performances on Youtube (probably "Hallelujah" or "White Flag") and I was hooked. Although she might not have had a successful career as Alexandra Burke, Diana's "Hallelujah" knocks socks off Alexandra's. By the time the second album came around, unfortunately the music business had moved on to other performers and when lead single "Cinderella" could only get to No. 76, the writing was on the wall. Shame, because there were some very good tracks on the "Music To Make Boys Cry" album that with the right kind of promo could have done much better. (She of course had a second number one as part of the X-Factor finalists mangling of Mariah Carey's "Hero")
  15. PROFESSOR GREEN British male rapper/singer/songwriter, born Stephen Manderson, 27/11/83 24 Apr 10 I Need You Tonight (Professor Green featuring Ed Drewett) 3 20 wks 24 Jul 10 Just Be Good To Green (Professor Green featuring Lily Allen) 5 12 wks 31 Jul 10 Monster (Professor Green featuring Example) 29 8 wks 27 Nov 10 Game Over (Tinchy Stryder & Giggs/Professor Green/Tinie Tempah/Devlin/Example/Chipmunk) 22 10 wks 18 Dec 10 Jungle (Professor Green featuring Maverick Sabre) 31 10 wks 25 Jun 11 In The Air (True Tiger featuring Professor Green & Maverick Sabre) 52 1 wk 05 Nov 11 Read All About It (Professor Green featuring Emeli Sandé) 1 27 wks 12 Nov 11 At Your Incovenience 97 1 wk 21 Jan 12 Never Be A Right Time 35 5 wks 26 May 12 Remedy (Professor Green featuring Ruth Anne) 18 11 wks 15 Sep 12 Avalon (Professor Green featuring Sierra Kusterbuck) 29 6 wks 15 Sep 12 Top Of The World (Smiler featuring Professor Green & Tawiah) 63 1 wk 27 Sep 14 Lullaby (Professor Green featuring Tori Kelly) 4 9 wks 15 Nov 18 Photographs (Professor Green featuring Rag'n'Bone Man) 79 1 wk 19 Sep 19 Got It All (Professor Green featuring Alice Chater) 48 3 wks Total Hits : 15 Total Weeks : 125 UC9IOAe9jAY -_oLfC5Z_Ys 9rHiLAdMmss Very up and down - four top five hits but only one other top 20. Some interesting featured credits, with the Professor appearing on both side of the word "featured", with a few of them making their only UK chart appearances (Sierra Klusterbuck, a.k.a. Sierra Kay), Ruth-Anne (a.k.a. Ruth-Anne Cunningham) and Alice Chater (not a.k.a. anything else at all as far as I know) I've been "on record" in a number of places saying how much I dislike songs which are basically a rap with a sung bit tacked on (or vice versa) as they don't compliment each other, but "Lullaby" is perhaps one of the few where it works.
  16. ELIZA DOOLITTLE British female singer, born Eliza Caird, 17/4/88. She is the daughter of Francis Ruffelle 24 Apr 10 Skinny Genes 22 15 wks 17 Jul 10 Pack Up 5 32 wks 23 Oct 10 Rollerblades 58 3 wks 11 May 13 You And Me (Disclosure featuring Eliza Doolittle) 10 20 wks 10 Aug 13 Big When I Was Little 12 5 wks 26 Oct 13 Let It Rain 55 1 wk Total Hits : 6 Total Weeks : 76 qxqtnWwLxYI fPt-hkcvoJ0 A second generation hitmaker, her mother Frances Ruffelle was a West End and Broadway actress who won a Tony award in 1987 for her performance in Les Misérables, and sang for the UK in the 1994 Eurovision Song Contest finishing in 10th. Ruffelle's mother and therefore Eliza Doolittle's grandmother is Sylvia Young OBE, the founder of the famous theatre school in London Eliza also had a role in Les Misérables during 1996-7 playing the young Cosette. Her singles chart career was based mainly around a number of quirky performances but was also a featured vocalist on a dance tune by Disclosure Not much has been heard of her since 2013, but she did release an album just as "Eliza" called "A Real Romantic" in 2017 but neither the album nor any singles made any chart impact. She does have a number one single on her CV though - she was part of the Justice Collective for their recording of "He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother" which was the 2012 Christmas number one.
  17. Looks like I jinxed it - it's left the Top 100 this week.
  18. 19. André Rieu & Johann Strauss Orchestra's versio of Ode To Joy had a week at No. 30 back in February
  20. I've never known CNN be so brutal towards a President. They're refusing to read out Trump's tweets as they're so full of lies and untruths. Biden up in Nevada by 11K, Arizona by 47K Trump up in Pennsylvania by 18K
  21. ALL TIME LOW American male vocal/instrumental group (Jack Barakat, Rian Dawson, Alex Gaskarth & Zack Merrick) 24 Apr 10 Lost In Stereo 63 2 wks 07 Aug 10 Weightless 100 1 wk 11 Jun 11 I Feel Like Dancin' 85 1 wk 14 Sep 13 A Love Like War (All Time Low featuring Vic Fuentes) 56 1 wk 24 Jan 15 Something's Gotta Give 84 1 wk 02 Mar 17 Dirty Laundry 91 1 wk Total Hits : 6 Total Weeks : 7 dv52vg-3NOY rDbVY3gCJgg Right, that's enough one hit wonders for a while, and it's time for a bit of rock. Like most rock outfits of the 21st Century, they've been more of an album chart artist than a singles chart one (including "Future Hearts" being a No. 1 in 2015) The band originally got together in High School, and have had the same four-piece roster since 2003. Featured vocalist Victor Fuentes is from the band Pierce The Veil, who have not featured in the UK Singles Chart
  22. Taylor County, Georgia printed their absentee ballot papers in house, but not exactly the correct size so they can't be automatically scanned correctly. They are having to be going through a different machine to duplicate them in the correct size so they can be properly scanned! It only affects a few hundred votes but seems a unique problem to that county
  23. Still over 369,000 votes to add in Pennsylvania. most of them in the Philadelphia region (and primarily Philadelphia County), with a chunk in Allegheny County (Pittsburgh) but some dotted around in more red-leaning counties Should get a decent provisional result tonight (US time) but ballots can still arrive tomorrow and count. Biden to win by up to 100,000 is the latest prediction
  24. Georgia is closer to getting finished, the biggest batch left to process is in Chatham County (about 17000) which has so far gone to Biden 57 Trump 41%. Smaller batches in the Atlanta area in Dekalb and Gwinnett counties, which have so far voted in a similar sort way. Fulton County, the biggest part of Atlanta, where Biden has a higher win rate, is mostly done now. It will go down to the wire, but Biden is looking favourite.
  25. I would be happier if Biden can win one of Pennsylvania, N Carolina or Georgia so as not to be on the exact 270 number. All it takes is then one faithless elector to switch for things to look VERY different in the Electoral College... Georgia could be the one, AP are reporting a gap of 22500 with 2% of votes still to be counted (about 100K). Do we know if these are from Fulton County or elsewhere in the state? It would also give some "wiggle room" in case Nevada (which looks to have been called rather early by some organisations) ends up in the Trump column.
