  1. I went for the far superior Pink. The Saturdays are under huge pressure at the moment because Universal USA want to push the new American band "Anything But Monday". For some reason they want to release them in the UK first. Universal UK, however, are adamant that they aren't released at the moment because they would clash with current act The Saturdays, who have been pushed big time by Universal UK.

Erm...that's only the A-List of Galaxy's playlist. Here are the B and C lists: Sugababes Girls Beyonce If I Were A Boy T.I Ft Rihanna Livin Your Life Jordin Sparks Ft Chris Brown No Air Jay Sean Tonight (Full Phat Mix) The Killers Human Lemar If She Knew Taio Cruz /Sugababes She’s Like A Star Katy Perry Hot N Cold Kanye West Love Lockdown Britney Womaniser C List Artist Title Basshunter All I Ever Wanted (Fonzerelli Mix) Ting Tings Be The One (Bimbo Jones Edit) Craig David Insomnia Usher Moving Mountains(Full Phat Remix) Duffy Rain On Your Parade Sneaky Sound System Ufo Gym Class Heroes Cookie Jar Nas Ft Keri Hilson Hero Akon Right Now (Na Na Na) The Saturdays Up Girls Aloud The Promise Guru Josh Project Infinity 2008 Chris Brown Ft Keri Hilson Superhuman Anastacia I Can Feel You (Fp Mix) I'm not a massive fan of Galaxy but what's happening is that their owners, Global Radio, having just acquired G-Cap Media, are trying to move all the stations towards a similar music strategy. Hence you'll see that overall (apart from Glaxy's use of remixes) Capital and Galaxy's playlists will be very similar in the future.
  3. Well basically the point of the playlist for Fresh (and indeed Radio 1) is as an indicator of all the new music that they will play. For Fresh Radio when a song is removed it just means that it won't be played on the "up-front/new music based" shows. The songs like Pink and Kings of Leon (already removed) will still remain on the daytime playlist for a while yet. They have to keep adding and removing songs on a similar scale on a regular basis otherwise you'd have about 100 songs on there!
  4. The songs that have been removed from the playlist that week. Basically the playlist comprises of all the songs they play across the station but when a song is removed it only means it won't be played as new music on the "up-front" shows; they'll hang around being played on the daytime shows for a while longer. Fresh Radio's most played songs of the week, if anyone's interested: 1. VV Brown - Crying Blood 2. Britney Spears - Womanizer = Girls Aloud - The Promise = The Killers - Human = Snow Patrol - Take Back The City = Red Light Company - Scheme Eugene = Kaiser Chiefs - Never Miss A Beat = Gabriella Cilmi - Sanctuary = Duffy - Stepping Stone = Sash! - Raindrops (Encore Une Fois) 11. It's the "Fresh" playlist. Online/underground radio I think. I decided to post it because I always like the look of this playlist when they're all posted through to me.

I believe so. Personally I would have preferred a "Fantastic 6" re-release but 'de nada'.

  10. I did think so - but was confused seeing it scheduled under "Coming soon..."! I assumed that perhaps they'd pulled the song from release. What about Captain? I think I might be more on the ball saying that one WAS pulled from release? Such a shame that they've received such little support for what is another great album.
  11. Odd decision to release on download alone. I do feel her songs lack the same quality that Adele and Duffy possessed with "Chasing Pavements", "Warwick Avenue" etc. but she is a great talent. Keane would be best off releasing "Spiralling" as a free taster track and then going all out with the next single, otherwise they're fragmenting potential buyers. I'm pretty sure "Disturbia" is going to be the next single. It's trumpeted as such within the radio industry and Capital have just added it to their daytime playlist. Incidentally, anyone know what's happening with Jack McManus - You Think I Don't Care and Captain - Echoes of Fashion?
  12. Do see post #14 please!
  13. Well I can speak for the radio group I work for and we've latched on to it big time. It's on our Network 1 playlist which is basically Capital 95.8, BRMB, Trent etc. AND on our Network 2 playlist too (which is for our more melodic stations). So that's reaching an audience of 11 or 12 million each week. Unfortunately, the BBC have totally ignored this track. I thought it would be right up Radio 2's street, but they haven't touched it yet. As for Radio 1 - some of their plalisting is totally diabolical. Unless it's a dance tune reccomended by Pete Tong or indie picked up by Zane Lowe, we usually land on most of the big tunes first.
  14. Maybe my judgement is clouded by past love of the Fratellis - but I think "Here We Stand" is a very good album. Nothing will live up to the amazing Costello album but this seemed to be a decent effort to me. As for "Look Out Sunshine!" being a flop - I reckon it should do better than "Mistress Mable". It already seems to have gained more commercial support. The likes of Capital have playlisted it, who totally ignored "Mistress Mable".
  15. Doesn't remind me of Potbelleez at all to be honest. I really like this tune. All commercial dance has to be considered in terms of its likeability not quality.
  16. I absolutely love Ida Maria. I heard "Queen of the World" ages ago and leafed through a preveiw of the album. I thought it was so great that I booked up tickets to see her at the MEN (I live in Hertfordshire) for the next week. As for her voice, I've heard a lot of people slate it but I find something really endearing about it. I wish her all the best of luck!
  17. I think it's another superb, original song from Vampire Weekend.
  18. Hi there. I work at a London radio station and we have received info that "Disturbia" is going to be the next release by Rihanna and have hence playlisted it, not "Rehab"...
  19. Always been a big fan of the Veronicas - particularly the first album and "Revolution". Any details on a possible UK release of the second album?
