Chart commentary: In another slow moving week at the top, German dance guru Luetzenkirchen makes it four weeks at number one with '3 Days Awake', for a third consecutive week keeping Royworld at number two with 'Brakes'. Katy Perry at last cracks the top three at Keane's expense, and with both Royworld and Katy releasing physical singles this Monday, they could finally get enough exposure to topple the hard-living Munich DJ. The sublime Delays sneak into the Top Five as Dizzee Rascal fades away, and there's still no shifting German Schlager pin-up Helene Fischer from the Top Ten, even though the autumn promises the release of a new single from her chart-topping album 'Zaubermond'. All the fast moving in the chart comes lower down. DSL Sofa advert song 'Chasing Butterflies' by Steph continues to make strong progress despite not even being available as a full song download, though constant repetition on ITV every night can't harm it's chances of drilling itself into the brain. Meanwhile, Will Young propels himself back into the Top Ten with 'Changes'. But even these songs may be beaten to the top by this week's highest entering and highest climbing songs. Eric Prydz looks to repeat the success of 'Call On Me' with his new instrumental 'Pjanoo' straight in at 14, whilst the jangly, almost Jam-like guitars of American college heroes King Of Prussia make a big impact, leaping from the lower reaches to 15 today. With the American Presidential election campaign about to make its traditional Labour Day launch, 'Misadventures of the Campaign Kids' could be the perfect soundtrack to the next eight weeks! Chart commentary: Little movement in the Top 20 this week, with the top three remaining unchanged, German producer Luetzenkirchen holding on to number one spot for the third consecutive week with '3 Days Awake'. The track has been at the centre of controversy this week, with Radio Newtown playing only the German language version '3 Tage Wach', due to the presence of an obscene word in the English lyric. And the opposition Conservatve leader of Newtown Council has slammed the track as a 'vile glorification of the culture of binge drinking' and called for it to be banned. Speaking better English than Steve McLaren, Tobias Luetzenkirchen has responded by declaring 'Ja wol, das ist schoen, all this publicity is keeping me at the top of the chart, and I am looking forward to visiting Engeland in Oktober for sure! I will be getting, how you say, troll-eyed!' Lower down the chart, Katy Perry finally cracks the top five, and Madcon enter the Top Ten. But highest new entry, straight in at eleven, is a song available only as a clip on a sofa company's website. The Coldplay-like 'Chasing Butterflies' by unknown artist Steph is the music from the current CSL sofa advert, and with a physical single release promised within weeks, it is tipped to become number one pretty soon. 'Somewhere' is great, but not even in my top three of favourite Keane tracks. I love all of their music so far, and while Spiralling is very different, I hope the album will be as good as the other two. Remember, 'Is It Any Wonder' was in many fans opinion the weakest track on Under The Iron Sea, so though it was good, didn't fully represent the album's general brilliance. In my opinion... ;)

Chart commentary: After a thrilling week, during which each of the top three held the lead at various points, the new chart shows... no change at the top. It's a second week for German producer Luetzenkirchen with his minimalist dance track '3 Days Awake'. Still at number two is the AOR power ballad 'Brakes' by Royworld, whilst last week's highest new entry by Keane, the 80s-tinged 'Spiralling', continues to build its popularity, but not by enough to overhaul the other two. In a slow moving top ten, both Dizzee Rascal and German Schlager-babe Helene Fischer drop a place, whilst once again, the highest climber within the top ten is Delays' 'Keep It Simple', now on physical release as a single after proving one of the most popular tracks on the album 'Everything's The Rush'. Katy Perry continues to make steady progress, and there are a few other girls she could kiss in the top 20 this week. Cyndi Lauper surges towards the Top Ten with 'Into The Nightlife', whilst heavy rotation on VH1 Europe sees Colbie Caillat get her first Top 20 hit with last year's 'The Little Things'.With 'Bubbly' also floating round the scene, Colbie could become one of the rare acts to place two songs in the Radio Newtown Top Ten at the same time, and the first since The Feeling two years ago. And don't forget Alicia Keys, still tryin' to talk some sense in 'em, at number 20. Madcon grab a surprise hit with an old song recently charted by The Four Seasons, and Melee also break the twenty for the first time. But with no important new releases threatening to crash in high next week, expect another battle between the existing top three, with Katy Perry and Delays hoping to pick off the two former chart toppers in the top five. I watch a lot of VH1 Europe, and recently discovered 'The Little Things' video, I was gonna chart it next week... I try not to chart more than one song by the same artist (only have time for a Top Twenty!), otherwise I'd pick the two you have here as well. A great talent and gorgeous as well... almost enough to distract me from Helene Fischer! :wub:

Chart Commentary: After just one week at the top, Dizzee Rascal and friends have been knocked off the number one position by German producer Tobias Luetzenkirchen and his hit '3 Tage Wach' (English version '3 Days Awake'). It has been very much a swift sweep up the charts by Luetzenkirchen, who visits the UK in October to play at Manchester's famous 'Sankeys'. But can he stay any longer than seven days at the top, for next week promises one of the most intense chart battles for months. Climbing five places to number two is last week's highest new entry, 'Brakes' by Royworld. Despite their American sound, they are among a wave of British bands seeking to break the recent German dominance of the chart, and this Boston-like AOR epic is certainly catching attention. But even more so is this week's highest new entry, available only as a free download from the band's website, Keane's first release from their hotly anticipated third album. 'Sprialling' represents a sharp break with their previous musical style, but it seems to be working as the new song makes an instant impact, entering at five. Meanwhile, the highest climber in the chart comes from Southampton's Delays, hammering up into the Top Ten a day before the physical release of 'Keep It Simple'.
