Chart commentary: After waiting patiently for two weeks, the heavyweight combination of Dizzee Rascal, Calvin Harris and Chrome have at last muscled German Schlager babe Helene Fischer out of the number one position with 'Dance Wiv Me'. A slow burner, the song entered at 17 five weeks ago, leaping up to five before its two weeks at the runner-up position. Having finally captured the top spot, though, the trio may be caught up in a German sandwich as Munich's Tobias Luetzenkirchen hammers up fourteen places into the top three with the hypnotic '3 Tage Wach' (English version '3 Days Awake'). Helped by an amusing video depicting a rabbit and a dog on a typical boozy Berlin weekend, the dance track looks a strong contender for number one next week. But two new entries within the Top Ten - from Royworld and the salacious Katy Perry - also have hopes of toppling Dizzee in seven days... Back in the Top Five, cheesy Austrian Schlager contender Semino Rossi has stalled, whilst a dip in interest in Kid Rock's single sees him slip two places. It's weird for me that Kid Rock is about to topple Dizzee just at the time that I've started to get bored with 'All Summer Long', yet really get into 'Dance Wiv Me'. 'All Summer Long' is a song that instantly grabs you because of the familiar sample, but when you hear it over and over, his vocals start to grate, especially the line 'we didn't have no inner neh'. Still love the original tracks it samples, though. Dance Wiv Me has been a real grower, I didn't like it initially cause I'm not a Dizzee Rascal fan, but it really gets into your head the more you hear it, and I like Calvin Harris' role in it - I like a lot of what he does, it's simple but fun. As for I Kissed A Girl, I like it on first hearing, but it could go either way: if it gets hammered for weeks like Grace Kelly or something, I'll soon get to hate it. And I think there are better tracks around now from The Script, Royworld etc, so I'm surprised by all this 'biggest song of the year' hype. Maybe it's the subject matter getting everyone steamed up! :P

Thanks for the welcome! I wrote this chart last week, but didn't get time to post it till late Saturday. (Hence the July 20 date) So rather than post two charts in a week, I'll post next on August 3rd. This week's top three is unchanged, I'll post movement below as part of the next chart. Love random foreign language and retro songs, so be warned!
