  1. Former Birds Of A Feather actress Pauline Quirke has joined the cast of Emmerdale as Jackson Walsh's mother Hazel.

The 50-year-old - who played Sharon Theodopolopodous for nine years alongside Linda Robson in the BBC One sitcom - begins filming at the soap's Leeds home at the end of next month and her larger-than-life character soon finds herself at the epicentre of "an enormous and gripping storyline".

Free-spirited teacher Hazel arrives in the Dales on a whistlestop visit to see her son Jackson (Marc Silcock), who is currently being wooed by troubled teen Aaron Livesy (Danny Miller).

However, as one newly-single villager takes a keen interest in her, Hazel's jetset lifestyle is halted when she becomes embroiled in a "hugely dramatic" plot that affects the lives of both her son and his lover.

Speaking of her signing, Quirke said: "I'm really looking forward to joining the show, my mum was a fan back when it was called Emmerdale Farm, so it's always been a part of my life. The show has really moved on, it's consistently good, there are some great characters and great storylines, I've especially loved Aaron's story."

She added: "I've never done anything like this before so it's something different for me and I'm very happy to be a part of it."

Series producer Gavin Blyth commented: "I am absolutely delighted that Pauline will be joining Emmerdale at such an exciting time. She is a fantastic actor who I know will do justice to this character."

He went on: "Alongside Aaron and Jackson, she will be at the centre of an enormous and gripping storyline this autumn/winter. One to really look forward to."

Quirke's other acting credits include Skins, Casualty, Cold Blood, The Bill and My Family.

More recently, she starred as DS Mary Jane Croft in a second series of BBC One's daytime drama Missing.

  3. Emma Roberts, Hayden Panettiere and Rory Culkin join cast :)

Emma Roberts has been cast as the lead of Dimension Films’ Scream 4, a continuation and quasi-reboot of Wes Craven’s meta slasher series.

As we previously reported, Ashley Greene was in talks for the part of the central heroine, Jill, the cousin of Neve Campbell’s Sidney character from the original trilogy. That deal fell through, however, and Roberts will fill the part instead. This is just speculation on my part, but the switcheroo may have been due to Greene’s higher asking price as a result of playing hardball on Twilight: Breaking Dawn.

Roberts, 19, is the face of Neutrogena, the mind of Nancy Drew, and the genetics of actor/father Eric Roberts and aunt/star Julia Roberts. She’s also starring in Milk screenwriter Dustin Lance Black’s directorial debut, titled What’s Wrong with Virgina.

Hayden Panettiere and Rory Culkin have been confirmed as Roberts’ movie geek friend and love interest, respectively. Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox, and David Arquette are all set to reprise their roles that will hand off the series to the new cast for a new trilogy.

Kevin Williamson (Scream, Scream 2) wrote the script and is contracted for a fifth. To keep the plot twists a secret, the script is not being sent to agencies which is making for a slow and difficult process.

Producer/director Wes Craven summed up how I feel about the choice in a press release statement. “I’m absolutely delighted that Emma will be joining the cast of Scream 4. Her talent, beauty and range will add immensely to the sophistication, intensity and fun of the Scream franchise as it returns to the screen once more.”

  4.

I'm not sure I've ever cringed so much. Truly terrible stuff and not even in the usual so-bad-it's-good way that we've become so accustomed to with Ben!

Wasn't it just! Absolutely shocking. I seriously feel for Don, Steve and everyone else who has scenes with Charlie.

Speaking of Don, allow me to lower the tone; I am finally appreciating just how good his bum is.

  5. Serious LOL's tonight.

"What are you gonna do to me...Mr Johnson?!" - priceless.

Abi believing that her and Jordan are a couple because they've hung out alone. How is she staying and Lauren leaving?!

  6. ep 11 title change -

    The Lodger becomes

    Don't Go Up The Stairs

edit: Oh strange, looks like someone made a mistake. DGUTS has been removed and changed back to The Lodger - which is shockingly better than DGUTS.

Silly press office just sent me ep 10 to watch instead of ep 9 :kink:

  7. Righ decision again tonight. Rhys was hopeless.

Interesting to see if Tim will get lucky next week as project manager.

Zoe is ruthless yet horribly entertaining lol.

Sucks for Adam having to leave. $h!t way to go.

  8. Paul Lambert will be back for a few eps around Nicolas wedding. Apparently could lead to a perm. return.

Interesting to see interaction with Aaron...

  9. New titles have been revealed:

  • Ok. I think that may be my fav episode yet - and I didn't even like all the music lol.

The Kurt/Finn scenes were rather excellent. Go Burt - loved that scene putting Finn in his place.

Shelby & Rachel was perfect. That entire scene and the Poker Face performance was one of my favourites from the whole season.

"My parents won't even let me watch Twilight; my mom says she thinks Kristen Stewart seems like a bitch."
