  2. Duke Dumont feat A*M*E - Need U (100%) debuts at #1 Coming straight in at #1 this week is UK DJ and producer Adam Dyment, with his first full single release Need U (100%), under the stage name of Duke Dumont. Duke first ade his name remixing tracks by the likes of Lilly Allen, Mystery Jets and Missy Elliot. After releasing several EPs over the last 4 years, he now makes his commercial breakthrough with this #1 single. The track features Sierra-Leon born British singer songwriter A*M*E, who has been hotly tipped for success this year. Need U (100%) thus keeps Pink/Nate Ruess at #2 again, whilst PJ & Duncan drop all the way from to #6 with last week's chart topping Let's Get Ready To Rhumble. Michael Buble - It's A Beautiful Day enters at #10 37 year old Canadian singer / crooner Michael Steven Buble rturns to the top 10 with his new single It's A Beautiful Day. Mr Buble's first breakthrough came in 2000 after he sang Mack The Knife at a wedding, then in 2003 his self titled album of covers debuted in the top 10. His 2005 album It's Time spawned #31 hit single Home and a cover of Feeling Good, then 2007's #1 album Call Me Irresponsible got him #38 single Everything then the #19 peaking Lost. His multi-million selling 2009/10 album Crazy Love got him the massive #5 single Haven't Met You Yet, #34 cover of Cry Me A River and #11 Hollywood. In 2001, he hit #1 again with his Christmas album and now To Be Loved is due for release next week. It's A Beautiful Day thus gets him his 4th top 20 hit and 2nd top 10 as the lead single, debuting at #10. Imagine Dragons - Radioactive climbs to #18, On Top Of The World enters at #34 and It's Time enters at #40 Earlier this year, US rock band Imagine Dragons got their 1st and 2nd top 40 hits in one week as Hear Me entered at #37 and Radioactive came in at #35. The latter track has hung around the top 100 ever since and has been in the top 40 several times, never progressing higher than #31. However this week, the track rises to #xx and also the band's 3rd and 4th top 40 hits debut this week. New single It's Time debuts at #xx, ahead of album track On Top Of the World at #xx. Chris Brown - Fine China enters at #29 US singer Chris Brown scores another UK top 40 hit this week as Fine China enters at #29, after being released late on Monday. Having first come on the scene in 2005 with #2 hit Run It, this is Chris's 16th top 40 hit in total. He got his first #1 hit with Turn Up The Music last year followed by #2 hit Don't Wake Me Up, although his biggest seller to date remains 2011's #4 smash Beautiful People, produced by Benny Benassi. Fine China is the first single from his forthcoming 6th studio album entitled X, due for release later on this year. Haim - Falling enters at #30 Calfornia based trio Haim get their second top 40 and biggest UK hit to date this week, as the Falling EP was released and so enters at #30. The band consists of sisters Este (27 year old) Danielle (24 year old) and Alana (22 year old), first formed in 2006 but did not start making music until last year. They were top of the BBC's Sound Of 2013 poll and have been tipped for big things by many. Shortly after that, they made #32 at the start of this year with Don't Save Me and also #75 with their Forever EP. All 3 songs come from the trio's forthcoming debut album, which is due for release before the end of the year. Iggy Azalea - Work enters at #36 22 year old Australian hip hop singer and ex-model Amethyst Amelia Kelly gets her first top 40 hit under the name of Iggy Azalea, as Work works its way to #36. Azalea began rapping at the age of 14 and formed her name from her nickname of Iggy and Azalea Street where she used to live. Iggy has supported Rita Ora on her last tour and also recorded several mix tapes over the past few years, and was featured on Steve Aoki's Beat Down last year. Now her lead single from forthcoming debut album enters at #36. Macklemore & Ryan Lewis - Can't Hold Us enters at #38 After several weeks hanging around outside the top 40, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis's follow up to Thrift Shop enters at #38 this week. Whilst their debut hit features US singer Wanz, this one features Seattle based singer Ray Dalton. Both tracks and the hotly tipped possible future hit Same Love are from the debut album by Macklore & Ryan Lewis entitled The Heist. Justin Timberlake stays on top of the album charts Justin Timberlake remains at #1 in this week's album chart for a 3rd week with The 20/20 Experience, the first album to do so since Gary Barlow's Sing last year. Coming in at #2 is US band Imagine Dragons with their debut album Night Visions, featuring their 4 top 40 singles to date. The dragons enter a place ahead of UK metalcore band Bring Me The Horizon with their new album Sempiternal, their 4th album in total and first to make the top 10. Meat Loaf's massive selling Bat Out Of Hell album is back at its original peak of #9, 35 years after it first charted. Other new album entries can be found from Killswitch Engage, Tyler The Creator, British Sea Power, Wiley and New Kids On The Block. Opinion I am happy to see Need U (100%) top the charts as I am not a fan of dance music in general but I do like that one, and it's better that Let's Get To Rhumble is just a 1 week wonder and goes away quickly. Again unfortunate that Pink/Nate could not make #1 and not likely to do so now at all, really brilliant song nonetheless. I am not a huge fan of Michael Buble but I do rather like It's A Beautiful Day and am glad to see it become his 2nd top 10. Not a fan of Chris Brown or his "music" but I do think Fine China is ok, even if it is a Michael Jackson rip off. I've really liked what I've heard from Haim so far, so very good to see Falling get them their 2nd top 40 hit. I absolutely love the album from Imagine Dragons and am glad to see them chart with another 2 tracks, It's Time should be much higher though and their album should be #1. I really do not like either Iggy Azalea's or Macklemore/Ryan Lewis's new songs at all.
  3. Thanks for commenting Good Delta. I'll be getting Caro's album too, hope it's as good as the first. I can see Bonnie and Texas climbing into my top 10 this week, pity neither track is likely to show up in the official charts though.
  4. Yeh you picked the right week not to do yours! Hope you enjoyed seeing Suede.
  5. PJ & Duncan – Let’s Get Ready To Rhumble is a re-entry at #1 Now for what is probably one of the biggest surprise number ones of the year, Ant & Dec claim their first chart topper with a 19 year old track. Anthony McPartlin and Declan Donnely first came to our attention in Byker Grove, then they launched a pop career in 1993. Under the pseudonym of PJ & Duncan, their first single Tonight I’m Free made #62 then Why Me? got them to #27. However their first top 10 hit came in 1994 when Let’s Get Ready To Rhumble peaked at #9. 11 further top 20 hits followed, each peaking between 10 and 16 (4 of which were credited as Ant & Dec). Then in 2002, the pair made #3 with the World Cup theme We’re On The Ball. In its original run, Let’s Get Ready To Rhumble only sold just over 160,000 copies, but has become very well known over the years. Last Saturday, Ant & Dec performed the track on their Saturday Night Takeaway show. This, online campaigns and the proceeds going to Childline have resulted in the track hitting the top, 19 years on. Pink feat Nate Ruess – Just Give Me A Reason climbs to #2 Let’s Get Ready To Rhumble lead the race for most of the week, and was indeed 11k ahead on Friday’s midweeks. However, Just Give Me A Reason by Pink and Nate from Fun. put in a last minute fight, leading iTunes since Thursday. This was enough for the track to climb to #2, outpeaking the preceeding 2 singles (Blow Me (One Last Kiss) #3 and Try #8). Pink has done that before with a third single release as 2002’s #1 Just Like A Pill outdid the previous 2 (#2 Get The Party Started and #6 Don’t Let Me Get Me). Her only other #1 single to date, So What came 5 years ago. Charlie Brown – On My Way enters at #7 26 year old South London based singer songwriter Charlie Brown gets a new entry at #7 this week with On My Own. The singer has been supporting Dappy on tour and has written songs for the likes of Jay Sean and The Script. Charlie released his debut single Dependency last year, but now gets his first chart hit with On My Own. He is also set to release his debut album proper later on this year. Nelly goes up to #9 and Pitbull / Christina Aguilera rise to #11 2 US rappers climb to a new peak with their latest singles – Nelly with Hey Porsche and Pitbull feat Christina Aguilera with Feel This Moment. 38 year old US rapper Nelly gets his 11th top 10 hit as lead artist with Hey Porsche, it makes #9 this week. Pitbull also rises up the charts this week with the Christina Aguilera featuring Feel This Moment, to #11. This is Pit’s 6th top 20 hit as lead credit and Christina’s 21st top 20 in total. Calvin Harris feat Ellie Goulding - I Need Your Love enters at #25 Dumfries born singer songwriter and producer Calvin Harris gets another UK top 40 hit this week as he teams up with Ellie Goulding for I Need Your Love, entering at #25. Calvin debuted in 2007 with #10 hit Acceptable In The 80s, and has had 9 further top 10 hits since including #1s I’m Not Alone and Sweet Nothing (feat Florence Welch). Calvin is featured artist on another 2 #1s - Dizzee Rascal’s Dance Wiv Me and Rihanna’s We Found Love. I Need Your Love is now the 7th single release from his massive selling 18 Months album. Fall Out Boy - The Phoenix enters at #36 US pop/punk band Fall Out Boy first formed in 2001 and scored their first hit in 2008, as Sugar We’re Going Down made #8. A second #8 hit Dance Dance followed, then came #38 single entitled A Little Less Sixteen Candles, A Little More Touch Me. 2007 saw the group score their biggest hit to date with This Ain’t A Scene, It’s An Arms Race, which peaked at #2. Thnks Fr Th Mmrs (the vowels are meant to be removed!) made #12 then a few smaller hits followed, including their #21 cover of Michael Jackson’s Beat It. Earlier this year, they got their second top 5 hit with comeback single My Songs Know What You Did In The Dark which hit #5. Now The Phoenix debuts at #36, as the second single from their forthcoming album Save Rock & Roll. Re-entries from Dizzee Rascal, Blackstreet and Rihanna As often happens when a new Now… album is released, there are several songs reentering at the bottom end of the top 40. Back at #40 is Dizzee Rascal with his #10 peaking track Bassline Junkie, taken from his DirteeTV.com mixtape. Rihanna’s #1 hit Diamonds is back at #35, also after a 1 week absence from the top 40. US hip hop group Blackstreet scored 4 UK top 10 hits between 1996 and 1998, the highest peaking was #6 Don’t Leave Me. Perhaps the best known one is No Diggity, which features rapper Dr Dre and returns to the top 40 at #38. The track has been discounted on iTunes and also appears in Pitch Perfect, hence its return. Justin Timberlake’s 20/20 Experience remains the #1 album Justin Timberlake stays for a second week at #1 on the album chart. English trio Depeche Mode make a return this week at #2 with their 13th studio album Delta Machine, and their 13th to make the top 10 since their 1981 debut. The band have a total of 35 top 20 singles to date, with none peaking higher than #4. Another machine enters at #10, this is the Comedown Machine which is the by The Strokes. Their fifth studio album is indeed a comedown with regards to chart positions, as the first 4 made the top 3! Other new entries this week come from Eric Clapton, Simple Minds, Peace, Joe Bonamassa, Lil Wayne and Iron Maiden. Opinion I think Let’s Get Ready To Rhumble is rubbish but actually quite entertaining to see Ant & Dec get a #1 … it’s so bad it’s good really! I’d much have preferred Pink/Nate to get #1 as I love that song so much, ah well! I quite like that Charlie Brown song On My Way and think that he has good potential. Not keen on Nelly’s song or the Pitbull/Christina piece of rubbish. I do really like Calvin Harris / Ellie Goulding’s I Need Your Love, far better than that Drinking From The Bottle tripe. I quite like No Diggity and am glad to see it back, even if the rap parts make it slightly worse. I'm not a Fall Out Boy fan and don't care much for the new single, I did half like ...Arms Race though. Rihanna's Diamonds is quite welcome in the charts but Dizzee can go away with his Bassline Junkie nonsense!
  6. Thanks Mart!n

  8. Saturdays - What About Us? enters at #1 This week Una Healy, Rochelle Humes, Mollie King, Frankie Sandford and Vanessa White collectively score their first UK #1 hit single, 5 years after debuting. What About Us is the brand new #1 for The Saturdays on sales of over 114k, making it the year's fastest seller so far. The girl group first came on the scene in 2008 with #8 hit If This Is Love, followed by 2 big top 5 hits Up (their biggest current seller at almost 350k) and Issues which sold respectably. Then the girls hit #2 with their Comic Relief cover of Depeche Mode's Just Can't Get Enough. #22 single Work followed that, also from debut album Chasing Lights. They then made #2 with Forever Is Over, followed by Ego which actually sold better despite its #9 peak. In 2010, the girls fell short of the top again, as Missing You hit #3 as the first single from their Headlines EP, followed by #10 hit Higher which again sold a "higher" amount than its predecessor. 2011 saw the girls hit #8 with Notorious and another #3 with All Fired Up, My Heart Takes Over could only make #15 though after that. Last year, they hit #7 with 30 Days (To Love) but sold poorly. However they can now lay claim to their first #1 single with big sales to go with it. What About Us features Sean Paul on the main UK version of the single, although a solo version is being released tomorrow (Monday). Taylor Swift - 22 climbs to #11 Very little movement can be seen in the top 10 this week. However rocketing up and landing 1 place short for this week, is US country turned pop singer Taylor Swift. She feels like she is 22 (actually now 23 years old), as her latest single looks set to become her 3rd top 10 hit in a row and 4th in total since 2008 UK debut Love Story. Love Story was Taylor's only top 20 hit in the UK, until she hit #4 last year with We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together then #2 with I Knew You Were Trouble. Both of these singles and 22 are taken from her current album Red, the formar 2 have both gone on to sell over 500k and in the process outsell her debut hit. Kodaline - High Hopes enters at #16 Dublin based indie rock quartet Kodaline get their first UK top 40 hit this week as their second single release High Hopes debuts at #16. Originally known as 21 Demands, the band made chart history in their native Ireland by having the first independently released #1 single with Give Me A Minute. In 2011, the band changed their name to Kodaline and have released an EP as well as being nominated for the BBC Sound Of 2013 Poll. A track from their Kodaline EP entitled All I Want made #74 after being a Radio 1 Record Of The Week and featuring in TV series Grey's Anatomy. High Hopes is the first proper single to be taken from their forthcoming album In A Perfect World, and sits at #1 in Ireland at present. The title track Perfect World was made available to download free from iTunes in January this year. Pitbull feat Christina Aguilera - Feel This Moment enters at #27 32 year old US rapper Armando Perez gets another top 40 hit this week, under the better known name of Pitbull. After having several smaller hits in his native US, the rapper debuted here with #4 smash hit I Know You Want Me (Calle Ocho) in 2009. This was followed by #9 hit Hotel Room Service as well as several other smaller hits. In 2011, he hit #1 with his biggest selling hit Give Me Everything (featuring NeYo, Afrojack and Mayer), followed by #28 Rain Over Me (featuring Marc Anthony) and #10 peaking International Love (with Chris Brown). Last year he made #21 with Back In Time then scored a #7 hit with Don't Stop The Party (featuring TJR). Now he teams up with Christina Aguilera, thus getting the US singer songwriter her 22nd UK top 40 hit in total (including collaborations) since her 2000 debut. ReConnected - One In A Million enters at #32 ReConnected are a British boy band, who were originally conestants on Britain's Got Talent in 2010 as part of the 5 piece boy band Connected. Now they have reformed (minus 2 of the original group), adding "Re" onto their name. They are now signed to record label RKA, which is partly owned by Dragon's Den business man Duncan Bannatyne. The group now consists of Harry Mondryk, Max Mondryk, and Matthew Fitzgerald. One In A Million is the debut single and has been released with multiple versions selling in small numbers as well as physical sales and a digital EP, a trick famously pulled off by Alex Day for his 3 single releases. The end result for ReConnected is a #32 placing for One In A Million, sure to drop right out the top 100 next week. Jakwob feat MaiDay - Fade enters at #35 23 year old British dubstep producer James Edward Jacob gets his first UK top 40 hit this week, as Fade enters at #35. Jakwob has been making music since he was 10 years old and has been involved with many bands since then. As well as releasing several singles, he has also remixed for the likes of Ellie Goulding, Temper Trap, Lily Allen and Lana Del Rey. It is these remixes that have helped him break into the mainstream, together with his increasing online following. Fade features female singer MaiDay, who wrote Girls Aloud's last single Beautiful Cause You Love Me and Wretch 32's Don't Go. Justin Timberlake - The 20/20 Experience is the #1 album US mega star singer / actor Justin Timberlake debuts at #1 to claim his 3rd straight #1 album with hotly anticipated album The 20/20 Experience, featuring Suit & Tie as well as the #1 smash Mirrors. Just as we got the year's fastest selling single this week, JT can claim the year's fastest selling album with sales over 100k. Last week's #1 from David Bowie slips to #2, Emeli Sande's massive album stays at #3 and Les Mis climb back to #4, ahead of Bastille who stay at #5 with Bad Blood. Indie rock band Suede are back after 11 years, at #10 with their new album Bloodsports, having been massive throughout the 1990's and now scoring their 5th top 10 album out of 6 releases. Other new entries come from Billy Bragg, Daughter, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club and Hadouken. Personal Opinion What About Us is far from being the best Saturdays song, that would have to be Up or Ego for me. I am however happy to see the girls finally get their first UK #1 with this (should have been Up or Ego but still), I have to say Sean Paul really ruins this song for me though. I actually quite like Tayor Swift's 22 even if it does have naff lyrics, it is quite catchy really. I love Kodaline and have done ever since I discovered them via an iTumes free download, great to see High Hopes get a top 20 placing. Pitbull on the other hand is utterly rubbish as usual, even Christina Aguilera does little to save this tripe from being diabolical. Another diabolical song entering this week is that ReConnected one, they should have stayed disconnected I think! On first listen, I'd say Fade by Jakwob is actually quite good, I wouldn't complain if that went on to have Disclosure's type of success.

  19. Bingo Players feat Far East Movement - Get Up (Rattle) enters at #1 Dutch dance duo Bingo Players the year's first big selling new chart topper, as Get Up (Rattle) debuts at #1. Since their formation in 2006, the duo have released many singles which have charted across Europe. One of those singles is Cry (Just A Little), which uses a sample from Piano In The Dark by US singer songwriter Brenda Russell, but was only a #44 hit in the UK. Said sample is also used by Flo Rida for his #3 hit I Cry, more on Mr Rida later. Rattle was another one of those singles, which has now been reworked with vocals from Asian-American hip hop quartet Far East Movement, as Get Up (Rattle). This knocks Scream & Shout off the top after a fortnight, and keeps Taylor Swift, Rihanna and Calvin Harris at #3, #4 and #5 respectively. Conor Maynard - Animal climbs to #6 20 year old English singer and former model Conor Paul Maynard gets his 4th straight top 10 hit this week, an Animal climbs a massive 28 places to #6 after being released as a single. Conor debuted last year with #2 hit Can't Say No, then #4 with Vegas Girl, before hitting #1 with his debut album Contrast. He then peaked at #8 with post-album single Turn Around, featuring US singer Neyo. Animal is another track from that album, however there was also a version of the track released featuring grime rapper Wiley for the single. It is this and increasing airplay which have propelled the track to #6, to beat Turn Around's peak b y 2 places. Amelia Lily - Shut Up (And Give Me Whatever You Got) enters at #11 X Factor conestant Amelia Lily gets her second UK top 40 hit this week as Shut Up (And Give Me Whetever You Got) debuts at #11, just missing out on a top 10 placing. 18 year old Amelia made #2 with her debut You Bring Me Joy last year, after finishing 3rd in 2011's X Factor. She is due to release her debut album later this year, she said of the album "There's a bit of dubstep on there as well which I think will surprise people! The sound is all over the place but I think the record works because we've only included songs that I really connected with." ... we'll see! Climbs from Lawson, Flo Rida and Dizzee Rascal Lawson climb to #15 with their 4th (and 1st post-album) single Learn To Love Again, following on form last year's trio of top 10's - #4 When She Was Mine, #3 Taking Over Me, and #6 Standing In The Dark. Flo Rida climbs to #23 with his 5th single from this era, Let It Roll, following his last 4 - #1 Good Feeling, #4 Wild Ones, #2 Whistle and #3 I Cry. Dizzee Rascal continues to climb, reaching #25 with his mix tape track Bassline Junkie. Macklemore & Ryan Lewis feat Wanz - Thrift Shop enters at #24 Now for a track which has been tipped by many to be this year's Gangnam Style in terms of sales, Thrift Shop by Macklemore and Ryan Lewis. 29 year old US rapper Ben Haggerty first teamed up with 24 year old US producer Ryan Lewis last year to get 4 minor US hits. Then the video for 5th single Thrift Shop went viral worldwide, as the duo teamed up with 51 year old Seattle-based singer Wanz. Thrift shop has been #1 in Australia and New Zealand as well as America and makes its UK debut at #24, with the likelihood of becoming a big hit here as well. Rita Ora - Radioactive enters at #32 22 year old Kosovar singer Rita Ora gets her 5th UK top 40 hit this week as Radioactive debuts inside the top 40 at #32, as her 5th single. This follows on from her trio of #1s RIP, Hot Right Now (DJ Fresh) and How We Do as well as #10 Shine Ya Light. Debut album Ora was released last year and went straight to #1, whilst track Young, Single & Sexy charted at #54 as a cherry picked album track. This is the second single entitled Radioactive to appear in the top 40, as the Imagine Dragons track of the same name re-enters at #38. Ellie Goulding - Explosions enters at #33 26 year old English singer songwriter Elena Jane Goulding gets her 7th top 40 hit this week as the track Explosions debuts at #33. The track appears on a series of ITV drama commercials and is not actually a single as such, so charts as an album track. Ellie Goulding first came on the scene in 2010 with #4 single Starry Eyed, followed by #26 Guns & Horses and #19 the Writer. This was followed by her highest peaking single to date which was a cover of Elton John's Your Song, making #2 in 2010. This was followed by Lights, which got to #2 in America but could only make #49 here in the UK. Anything Could Happen hit #5 last year as the lead single to her second album Halcyon, followed by #33 single Figure 8. Explosions thus matches that peak by entering at #33, with a very high likelihood of beating it in the next few weeks. Little Mix - Change Your Life enters at #36 UK girl group Little Mix get their 4th top 40 hit single this week as Change Your Life debuts at #36, after an appearence on Johnathan Ross last week. The group were 2011's X Factor winners, and have had 2 #1s in the form of winner's cover of Damien Rice's Cannonball and their own song Wings. DNA was released as the title track to their debut album, hitting #4 last November. Change Your Life is likely to climb in the coming weeks and time will tell if it can make the top 5 like its predecessors. Les Miserables remains the #1 album The Les Mis soundtrack remains at #1 this week in the albums chart, with Emeli Sande remaining at #2. Calvin Harris swaps places with Jake Bugg at #3 and #4 respectively. The highest new entry comes from indie rockers I Am Kloot with their 6th studio album Let It All In, their highest charting at #10. There is very little action elsewhere, with returns to the top 20 for Ellie Goulding, Niel Diamond, Madness and David Guetta. Other new entries are from Mallory Knox, Adam Ant, Joy Formidable and Blackout. Opinion It's a case of rubbish replacing rubbish at the top of the charts, as the awful Scream & Shot is replaced by the equally awful Get Up (Rattle) from those Bingo Players. Conor Maynard's Animal is not bad, it is far better than Can't Say No and Vegas Girl at least. Amelia Lily's 2nd single is not as good as You Bring Me Joy but still ok. Lawson's Learn To Love Again is their best by come distance, very good song indeed. I really do not like Thrift Shop or that Bassline Junkie rubbish from Dizzee Rascal. I love Ellie Goulding's Explosions though, not quite as much as her last 2 singles but still brilliant. Both Radioactive's are OK, with a preference towards the Imagine Dragons one but neither are great. Little Mix's Change Your Life is quite good, as is Wings but I still think they are average at best.

  21. Thanks for that zeus, interesting info indeed. :)
  22. Will.i.am feat Britney Spears - Scream & Shout stays at #1 This week saw a closely fought three way battle for #1, featuring 3 high profile collaborations. For most of the week, the 50 Cent/Eminem track was leading the way, whilst Justin Timberlake/Jay Z were leading iTunes for a good lot of the week. However towards the end of the week, Scream & Shout built up a healthy lead thanks to its use in Celebrity Big Brother. In the end it is last week's #1 from Will.i.am & Britney that holds on for a second week this week. The track has now spent all of its 6 weeks inside the top 3, being beaten by James Arthur and Justice Collective in the first 4 weeks. 50 Cent feat Eminem & Adam Levine - My Life enters at #2 This week's highest new entry comes from a collaboration of big US artists, lead by rapper 50 Cent who makes his chart comeback this week. 36 year old rapper Curtis James Jackson III made his UK chart debut in 2003 with huge #3 hit In Da Club. This was followed by 6 more straight top 10 hits - 21 Questions, PIMP and If I Can't, followed by Candy Shop, Just A Lil Bit and Outta Control. 2 more top 20 hits came from his film soundtrack later in 2005 - Hutler's Ambition and Window Shopper. 2007 saw his biggest UK hit, #2 smash Ayo Technology feat Justin Timberlake and Timbaland. Fiddy was last seen in the charts in 2009, when Baby By Me hit #17 featuring Neyo. Now he teams up with Eminem and Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine for My Life, 50's joint biggest hit and 14th top 10 hit appearence in total. Eminem was last seen in 2001 with #34 hit Space Bound, the last of his 23 top 40 hits including 6 #1s. Justin Timberlake feat Jay Z - Suit & Tie enters at #3 The second highest new entry this week is Justin Timberlake's return to the music scene, Suit & Tie debuts at #3 as an On Air/On Sale release. Justin first made his mark as part of 5 piece boy band N'Sync, who amassed 6 UK top 10 hits between 1996 and 2002, with huge sales in the US. Upon the group's demise, Justin released his debut solo album Justified in 2002. That spawned 3 #2 hits Like I Love You, Cry Me A River and Rock Your Body, as well as Sinorita and I'm Lovin' It. It wasn't until 2006 that he released his second album Future Sex/Love Sounds, that got him his first #1 single Sexy Back. My Love and What Goes Around followed, reaching #2 and #4 respectively, as did #11 hit Love Stoned. After taking a break for acting, Justin now retuns to the music scene with #3 hit Suit & Tie which features rapper Jay Z, this is Justin's 7th top 5 hit as a solo artist. Biffy Clyro - Black Chandelier enters at #14 Scottish rock band Biffy Clyro make their return to the top 40 this week, as new single Black Chandalier enters at #14 this week. The band formed and released their first single in 1999 but did not get their first top 40 hit until 2003, when Questions & Answers made #26. 2007 saw their first top 20 hit, #13 Saturday Superhouse. However it wasn't until 2008 that they achieved their commercial breakthrough. #5 hit Mountains, #10 hit That Golden Rule and #17 The Captain came from their 6th album Only Revolutions. That album also got them their biggest selling hit Many Of Horror which made #8 after Matt Cardle covered it for his X-Factor winner's song. Now they return to #14 with Black Chandalier, the lead single from forthcoming 7th album Opposites. Anne Hathaway - I Dreamed A Dream enters at #22 Actress Anne Hathaway makes her UK chart debut at #22 with a song from the musical Les Miserables, I Dreamed A Dream. The song is sung by character Fantine during the first act, and as such appears on the soundtrack. The song wa originally sung by French singer songwriter Rose Laurens and has been covered by Susan Boyle, who famously sung the song on Britain's Got Talent then hit #38. Lawson - Learn To Love Again enters at #28 Boy band Lawson get a 4th UK top 40 hit this week as Learn To Love again debuts at #28. The band first came on the scene last year, when they scored 3 successive top 10 hits - #4 When She Was Mine, #3 Taking Over Me and #6 hit Standing In The Dark. All 4 singles come from their debut album Chapman Square, released last October. Neyo - Forever Now enters at #31 US singer and producer Shaffer Chimere Smith gets himself another UK top 40 hit under the name of Ney, as Forever Now enters at #31. Neyo debuted in 2006 at #1 with So Sick, followed by #5 hit Sexy Love and #4 Because Of You. Then in 2007, he scored his second chart topper and biggest seller Closer. This was followed by #6 hit Miss Independent and #19 single Mad. 2010, saw him hit #1 for the 3rd time with Beautiful Monster, which was followed by #20 hit One In A Million. Last year, he hit #1 again with Let Me Love You, Forever Now is the follow up single debuting at #31 after being released several weeks ago. Les Miserables Sountrack climbs to #1 In a rare occurence, there is a film soundtrack at #1 in the album charts in the form of Les Miserables. Credited to the Cast Of Les Miserables, this means that the soundtrack can chart in the artists album chart and as such climbs from #5 to #1 this week. There are 3 new entries in the top 20 this week, the highest being from UK indie band Everything Everything with their second album Arc. There is a new entry at #7 for US rapper Rakim Mayers under the name of A$AP Rocky with Long LLive ASAP. Irish band The Villagers enter at #16 with their 2nd album Awayland. The 9th studio album from New Order Lost Sirens also debuts at #23 this week. Opinion Whilst I really don't like Scream & Shout, it's saved us from that horrible 50 Cent and his awful song becoming his first UK #1. On the other hand, I really do like Suit & Tie from Justin Timberlake, even if it isn't his best work and is slightly ruined by Jay Z's rap. I am quite a fan of Biffy Clyro and really like their new single Black Chandalier, pity it missed top 10. I think Lawson's new one is perhaps their best so far, I have liked their output so far as well. Neyo's Forever Now is just average, Flo Rida keeps up his standard of releasing boring rubbish and the jury's still out on Animal by Conor Maynard. I am no fan of Dizzee Rascal's past material at all, but I like this new piece of dirge even less. Not a fan of musicals in general, but good on Les Mis for topping the album charts.

  24. Oops neither he is! In that case, I'll make it Tinie's 7th top 5 hit in total then. :D
  25. Will.i.am feat Britney Spears - Scream & Shout climbs to #1 So claiming the first new #1 of 2013, Will.i.am rises to #1 after spending 4 weeks in the top 3 with Scream & Shout alongside Britney Spears. Will.i.am thus claims his second #1 as lead credit, after last year's This Is Love (featuring Eva Simons). It is Will's 9th UK #1 in total now - 5 as a Black Eyed Pea (Where Is The Love, Boom Boom Pow, I Gotta Feeling, Meet Me Halfway and The Time) and 2 as a featured artist (Usher's OMG and The Script's Hall Of Fame). Meanwhile Britney had 5 #1s as a solo artist (Baby One More Time, Born To Make You Happy, Oops I Did It Again, Toxic and Everytime), Scream & Shout is her 6th. Mr I Am has therefore had 11 UK #1s from 2003-2013, whereas Britney's 6 date from 1998 to 2013. Scream & Shout will appear on Will.i.am's forthcoming album #willpower, due out next month. New peaks achieved by Taylor Swift, Calvin Harris feat Tinie Tempah, Pitbull feat TJR, Kanye West and Emelie Sande Taylor Swift gets another new peak with her latest single I Knew You Were Trouble, this equals her highest peak of #2 achieved by 2009's Love Story. Calvin Harris also reaches a new peak as his Tinie Tempah featuring single Drinking From The Bottle rises to #5 this week. This is Calvin's 10th top 5 hit as lead credit since his 2007 debut Acceptible In The 80s, whilst it is Tinie's 7th top 5 in total. Another track on the rise to a new peak is Don't Stop The Party, which goes up to #7 to give Pitbull his 5th top 10 hit since his 2009 UK debut I Know You Want Me made #4. 2 other tracks equal their peak this week - Rihanna's Stay at #4 and One Direction's Kiss You at #12. Clique by Kanye West feat Jay Z and Big Sean reaches a new peak of #22 thanks to Radio 1 DJ Nick Grimshaw making a parody video of the song. Emeli Sande has performed on yet another TV show during the week, this time she performed Clown on the Graham Norton Show and as such repeaks at #23 with it. David Bowie - Where Are We Now? enters at #6 Wednesday of this week was David Bowie's 66th birthday, and with that came the announcement of a new album and single which would mark his return to music after a 10 year period of silence. The new single Where Are We Now was released and got to #1 on iTunes for a part of the week, however there was a great deal of controversy over whether it should be eligible to chart. The reason for that is that those who pre-order the album also get the single, but the single is also available as a standalone purchase. Distinguishing those sales was the issue, however in the end it has charted as the week's highest new entry at #6. David Bowie made his chart debut in 1969 with the classic Space Oddity, the first of his 23 top 10 hits. He has had 5 #1s (Space Oddity in 1973, Ashes To Ashes, Let's Dance, Under Pressure with Queen and Dancing In The Street with Mick Jagger). Bowie was last seen in the charts in 2003 with #38 single New Killer Star, however his last top 10 was Jump They Say, a #9 hit back in 1993. His last single to peak higher than this was 1986's #2 hit Absolute Beginners. Biggest hit in 27 years for David Bowie ... who'd have thought? Vato Gonzalez feat Lethal Bizzle & Donae'o - Not A Saint enters at #20 29 year old Dutch producer and songwriter Björn Franken gets a new entry at #20 under the name of Vato Gonzalez, teaming up with Lethal Bizzle and Donaeo. Vato has only had 1 previous UK top 40 hit, that was Badman Riddim (Jump) which made #7 in 2011 with dubstep duo Foreign Beggars. He has produced remixes though for the likes of Sway, Skepta, Rizzle Kicks and Taio Cruz. Lethal Bizzle scored a #7 hit with Oi as part of More Fire Crew in 2007 and a #11 hit of his own with Pow (Forward) in 2004. Not A Saint is the first hit single though for UK singer and rapper Donae'o. Jake Bugg - Lightning Bolt enters at #26 19 year old singer songwriter Jacob Edwin Kennedy gets a second top 40 hit this week under the name of Jake Bugg, as Lightning Bolt enters the top 40 at #26. Jake has been a hotly tipped new singer songwriter since the beginning of last year, during which he released 5 singles and had a #1 album. He only made the top 40 with one of those singles, Two Fingers peaked at #28 when his self titled album was released. Lightning Bolt was also one of those singles, which has been re-released and gets a #26 entry in the top 40 this week. Jake Bugg has performed on several TV shows over the last few weeks, which has also helped his album rise back up to #3. David Guetta feat Taped Rai - Just One Last Time enters at #28 45 year old French DJ David Guetta gets yet another UK top 40 hit this week as Just One Last Time debuts at #28, featuring Taped Rai. Guetta made #19 in 2001 with his debut single Just A Little More Love with US singer Chris Willis. However it wasn't until 2006 that he hit it big, with #3 hit Love Don't Let Me Go (Walking Away). That was followed by #9 hit Love is gone the next year. In 2009, he scored 2 huge #1s When Love Takes Over and Sexy Bitch, featuring Kelly Rowland and Akon respectively. They were followed by #15 hit Memories and 3rd #1 Gettin' Over You. Several big hit collaborations followed - Rihanna on #6 Who's That Chick, Flo Rida and Nicki Minaj on #3 Where Them Girls At, Taio Cruz on #4 Little Bad Girl and Usher on #6 Without You. Last year saw Guetta score a huge 4th #1 with Sia on Titanium, followed by #8 Turn Me On with Nicki Minaj. He made #18 with the Chris Brown featuring I Can Only Imagine and #8 with another Sia collaboration She Wolf (Falling To Pieces). Now he hits #28 with vocalist Taped Rai, making this Guetta's 22nd top 40 hit in total since 2001. Haim - Don't Save Me Haim are a Los Angeles based trio of sisters, who formed in 2006 but did not start to make music until 2012. Last year, the group independently released an EP entitled Forever, as well as supporting Mumford & Sons and Florence & The Machine on tour. Haim's debut single entitled Don't Save Me, enters the chart this week at #32 whilst the aforementioned Forever EP was at #75 last week. The group have a new single scheduled for next month and a debut album for later on in the year. Bon Jovi - Because We Can US rock group Bon Jovi make a return to the top 40 this week to score their 39th top 40 hit with new single Because We Can. The New Jersey based rockers made their debut in 1986 with #14 hit You Give Love A Bad Name and have gone on to have massive hits with the likes of Living On A Prayer, Bad Medicine, Keep The Faith, In These Arms, Always, These Days, It's My Life and Who Says You Can't Come Home. They were last seen in the charts in 2009, when they made #25 with single We Weren't Born To Follow. Because We Can is taken from their forthcoming new album What About Now, due out in March. Emeli Sande's album is back at #1 After being knocked off #1 last week by Calvin Harris, Emeli Sande's Our Version Of Events goes back up to #1 to spend its 7th non-consecutive week at the top. The Les Miserables Sountrack is this week's highest new entry on downloads only, charting on the artist album chart as it is credited to The Cast Of Les Miserables. The only other new entry this week comes from US rock band Black Veil Brides at #20 with Wretched And Divine - The Story Of The Wild Ones. Lumineers reach the top 10 for the first time with their album, Taylor Swift is back in the top 10 with Red, Alt-J are back in the top 20 making an awesome wave, as is Frank Ocean with his Channel Orange.
