IrisAlbastru posted a post in a topic in Robbie Williams and Take That's Robbie Williams and Take ThatI am sure that your dreadful songs are my favorites and my dreadful songs are yours....So, nothing is for nothing on The Circus :teresa: . I have seldom an album where i like everything i heard, so with more than half i am very content for myself (they try to pleased too many tastes and they have also too different taste, that it is why only few people will like everything).

IrisAlbastru posted a post in a topic in Robbie Williams and Take That's Robbie Williams and Take ThatI tryed to like Robbie music, i really trayed - and failed. Just not for me - so naturally Robbie instead of Gary in TT won't add a thing for me. Actually both of them don't need TT and they will have a long career with tons of awards, "sir" and etc. I thought also UAN would get in top 5, so i am as old as you  .For me is still the highlight of the album and no chart place would make me to think other way. If the masses don't think like me, perhaps is better - i was really worried liking TT that my taste is too trivial  -just kidding . I don't give a cent how many people likes the songs i like, charts, and things like this - If Mark's music would be recognised among the specialists and other artists, giving him the chance to be creative, i would not spend one second to be upset about charts. Like i said, i only want music from him and the bloody art to judge quality through quantity makes everything kaput ...

Strange...i can see Polydor videos and also Universal. Is it perhaps that the UK viewers don't see nothing?

Lets Talk Balls!
IrisAlbastru posted a post in a topic in Robbie Williams and Take That's Robbie Williams and Take ThatHehe, have you seen the topic i made on TT forum? The most are against ONE song with Robbie, so no, reunion is not what the people want  . What i want is that Mark in TT or not (that is actually egal for me) do his brilliant music. But with him not wining some name as a songwriter, it will be hard to believe he will do solo something anymore - he doesn't post anything on his page (while Gary and Howard does). He has also now a family, i don't now if he will risk his money once again as with "How the mighty fall". My second hope that he would write for other acts is also not to happen, as i don't hear any other artist recognising Mark's talent. Why everytime i like an artist, is he bound to fall? None of those i dearest like have success. Oh well, today i am ill and depressed. :heehee:

IrisAlbastru posted a post in a topic in Robbie Williams and Take That's Robbie Williams and Take ThatSomething to laugh and something to cry here (well, for me): http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.p...3626&page=3 . For the first the comparation of Oasis with smourfs make me laugh laud. But if you find only one time the name Mark Owen and songwriter .... well nothing to say further. Exactly what i said: beside money, Mark hasn't won anything from TakeThat . Jason has the most fans, Howard has his DJ niche and Gary takes it all ...

Something to Think and Talk About.
IrisAlbastru posted a post in a topic in Robbie Williams and Take That's Robbie Williams and Take ThatBetter get on youtube first! If you like them ,you can download those of Owen - he is the only one not appreciate as a songwriter from my list ! :teresa: I mean that i am a TT fan only because first i was a Owen fan, his last CDs are brill and i consider him an outstanding songwriter ( please remark i don't say the best singer  - but well, i am not looking for the best voice outthere but for the best bond between singer and song, for passion and emotion , and he gives that). His album How the mighty fall (will be on my top 10)is so far from what the mode says, absolutly odd, weird, funny and no song to skip (well, for me). Some songs have cinematic lyrics - first you should close your eyes, see the scene, feel what that scene would mean for you if you where in it or observing it and after that you feel the song. The other songs are very methaphoric. I could hardly choose the song for the list, as everyone from the album has a meaning for me - which is very seldom for me at the modern songwriters. But well, i will say more on the album list  . All the other are very well known, perhaps you have them already. Lennon - don't buy the whole CDs, download only the best tracks, as he have a lot of very strange and sound-experimental songs. Depeche Mode - you either like them or hate them. The Doors - half (at least)of what they made deserve to be downloaded. Rufus - hmmm, a little difficult. His best songs are really the singles, if you have them you have almost what you need. Razorlight - very funny song. It deserve downloading. The album has a lot of fillers ( but i am still going to see them live  ). Cat Stevens - brilliant. Very hard to choose only one song for my list. His album Tea for the Tillerman will be in my top 10 , when i will write it  . The Last Shadow puppets - i still have not buyed their album - on my wish list. So i cannot tell you if only this one or all deserve. Bob Dylan - here like at Owen. Brill songwriter, his voice is far from being good. Keep yourself far from ´live" albums or tracks. His voice got worse with age.

Something to Think and Talk About.
IrisAlbastru posted a post in a topic in Robbie Williams and Take That's Robbie Williams and Take ThatFor me it is also very difficult to find the songs, as i don't know which were released or not as singles :teresa: . I will skeap the Beatles songs ! - Meeting Place - The Last Shadow Puppets : a nice little perfect song - Baby I 'm not good - Mark Owen : love a simple song like that, with deep lyrcis and much emotion. For the lonely hours when i look at the past and i am not quite content with what i achieved. "And you come back to ask me What I lost, what I gained I'd probably answer I did all that I could But it wasn't that much I'm afraid, Baby I'm no good" - Wasting away - Mark Owen : ok, here i have no words to describe why i like it because i like this song too deeply for the words, but when i am really down and need someone to understand me and i have none, i listen to this song. - Sad Liza - Cat Stevens : sad and beautiful - Beautiful Boy - John Lennon : i love the tiny asiatic sounds in the background . And these lyrics are one of the best Lennon comes with: "Before you cross the street, Take my hand, Life is just what happens to you, While your busy making other plans," - Working class hero - John Lennon : i think i don't need to say why, just add the lyrics: "Keep you doped with religion and sex and TV, And you think you're so clever and classless and free, But you're still f***ing peasents as far as I can see, " So much truth in 3 minutes! - Pimpf - Depeche Mode : this song have no words. But i have listen to the album 101 as i read "Dune" of Frank Herbert and they remain forever in my mind together. They have the same mixture of mysticism with technology. - Old Whore's Diet - Rufus Wainwright : i am not soo keen on the lyrics but the music is brilliant. He tends to choose the best songs as singles and the rest are sometimes too similar in sound, but this one is different. It must be this or "Greek song" - but i coudn't find out if the latter was released as a single. - Who needs love - Razorlight : love the lyrics, very ironic (and i love ironic lyrics): "Oooh darling who needs love? Who needs a heaven up above? Who needs all the arguments, who needs to be right, not I " - People are strange - The Doors : the first song i liked at The Doors. Used to think at this song a lot as i changed my birth country with Germany and i coudn't even speak german, so feeling foreign and everything around me was just strange. - Don't Think Twice, It's All Right - Bob Dylan : We had in my land an actor who sung this song translated. So i discovered that there is a Bob Dylan apart of Blowing in the wind. Brilliant lyrics. Very bitter ironic: "I ain't sayin' you treated me unkind You could have done better but I don't mind You just kinda wasted my precious time But don't think twice, it's all right" As you see i tend to choose and like songs with which i have a very deep bonding and where i love the lyrics  .

Take That - General Chart Topic
IrisAlbastru posted a post in a topic in Robbie Williams and Take That's Robbie Williams and Take ThatBetter as i thought for TT in Germany. In today-newpapers is written that they sold over 100000 lbums (gold). I think that if they will do well with the Garden, that will improve also the album sales. I will buy the single for me only if it is a new b-side. Norma there are two version of the single. One is 2-track with 84. For the second i don't know at the moment. When it will be known, you have to tell me which one you will like to have. I still hope they will have a new b-side on it.

IrisAlbastru posted a post in a topic in Robbie Williams and Take That's Robbie Williams and Take That"Take That Up All Night ***** Another song inspired by The Beatles’ sound, this is a blockbusting, kitchen sink-tastic track, with lead vocals by Mark Owen. We love the street party music video, too. Another absolute classic!" http://new-magazine.co.uk/music/view/7525/...es-of-the-week/

Up all night
IrisAlbastru posted a post in a topic in Robbie Williams and Take That's Robbie Williams and Take ThatI think also that the third one will be the last "new album". I am sure they will make than a GH like everybody and hush into the shadow. But I don't think Gary will write with Mark for other artists. Till now he didn't do that (even at the Britannia High no song was written together). I was hoping that Robbie would give Mark the hand, but when he didn't do it before 2005 , it is pointless to believe he will do that now. Gary is in the position to risk a flop without falling. Even the Britannia High or John's what-is-his-name flop didn't harm his crown. I don't blame Gary for becoming all the glory, as he said in more interviews about Mark's input especially in Rule the world, Shine and now UAN. But i still get angry that the media give him credit for everything. Beside money to subvent his solo albums, the TT era didn't bring to Mark anything to help him to climb. Mark is the person to hate , especially for the old TT fans I feel, and every flop will be bound to him. He rised minimal the circle of persons able to enjoy his music (as his music is not targetted to the normal TT fan). The nonTT fans didn't enjoy his voice , the boyband past and so on. His only chance was to write for other, but, like i said, i didn't heard any of the artists even to praise Mark for his efforts...

Up all night
IrisAlbastru posted a post in a topic in Robbie Williams and Take That's Robbie Williams and Take ThatWell, he gets recognition only from a couple of TT-fans. The most of them are only knowing that Gary is writing the songs. Have you seen some artists quieing at Mark's door for new songs? The papers are also only going on about Gary talents, fogetting the other three  . At least Howard has his own carrier as DJ, and it goes independent of what TT is doing. Jason didn't try his hand till now on something, so i cannot see how well he will do. I was hoping Mark will have a chance to write songs for some top artists, as it is obvious he will never have a solo carrier.

Up all night
IrisAlbastru posted a post in a topic in Robbie Williams and Take That's Robbie Williams and Take ThatNeed to post that: "Making similarly great strides this week are Take That who shoot up 20 places to Number 17 with their latest offering 'Up All Night'. Whereas normally their singles are expected to fly to the top of the singles chart in short order, they are in a curious position with this new track, coming as it does on the back of some record-bending sales of parent album 'The Circus' which has inevitably diluted the potential market for its second single. As they demonstrated back in 2007, they are not immune from having smaller hit singles in the download era, their single 'I'd Wait For Life' peaking at what is for them a comparatively lowly Number 17. Its not that 'Up All Night' is necessarily destined to go no further, but should it fall back next week we should not be totally shocked. Its one saving grace is the fact that it goes physical this week meaning that a small sales boost from dedicated collectors is on the cards. In the meantime they can console themselves with the fact that this is one of three Top 75 singles they can claim this week, with 'Greatest Day' still smouldering at Number 52 and the evergreen 'Rule The World' refusing to die, this week at Number 73 on what is its 64th week as a Top 75 hit." http://new.uk.music.yahoo.com/blogs/chartw...march-7th-2009/ As it bugs me no end that this great song and Depeche Mode won't get what they deserve, i wil take a break from looking at any chart in the next months. I am not a friend of quantity over quality. I prefer to keep my music love as to go bitter. I am only very sad for Mark that he has no chance in the music songwriting and gets no recognition at all and also for the other two songwriters of the song , appart from TT, which would have been nice to have some luck in the business (as i like some of their music). Oh God, these Tuesday-depressions  . I definitely need a nice cup of very hot tea :teresa: .

What was you doing in 84?
IrisAlbastru posted a post in a topic in Robbie Williams and Take That's Robbie Williams and Take ThatYipiii, i cannot wait to have it! UAN and Wrong are at the moment on repeat! For me is the other way as at you . I skip "How did it came to this" as cannot stand the chorus and i absolutly love this 84. You should not worry - they never sing their b-sides, which is a pity as i adore "We all fall down" (Mark used to sing his on his solo gigs, some of them were very good, he is def. a specialist in writing b-sides ). For the record: in 84 i was in my first summer camp. It was in that time i first heard about Elvis Presley and see a photo of him. I cannot remember anything else...

Next week`s Chart - The Preview for Sunday 8th Mar
A sad day for the music, as once again is shown is more "industry" than "music". It happens exactly as with the awful cover of Hallelujah and other awful covers floating the charts :puke2: . But I bet Depeche Mode will go Top 10 in other countries in EU, at least in Germany  !
