  1. You don't have to waste your precious time reading my posts, you know? You can invest much better in adoring a person, which, well you don't know either. Give me a rest next time, please. Here is not the adoring fan corner. If I have an opinion i would like to say it. If you like it or not. Did i make myself clear? So, if you need more to understand what i mean, and is not so much for your precious time to read it: Gary have two images, on each he works: one professional, as a sonwriter / singer / producer and one as a person. If he didn't wanted to be perceived also as a person, he woudn't have published his autobiography to start with, didn't do the "family and friend" bashing with fotoshop for certain press. He wanted to be perceived by the people who doesn't know him personal. So, it backfired. I certainly am not interested now to know more about him as a person. Some don't care to be manipulated and if some choose when they like a person to don't find a fault on it and to find excuses for everything he made, well, i am not like that. I don't like to be lied, to feed myself with illusions, i like to use my head and to think. If you don't like it is your problem, not mine. Stop pressing your views on me and stop pressing your behaviour on me. Stop being so agressive each time i am not a gushing fan about TT. I AM NOT A FAN! Fan comes from fanatical, and i am for none, not even Beatles, Queen, Credence clear water revievel and Jaques Brel, which i think much better as professionals than i do for TT. I am interested in TT, i am interested in certain aspects of music business(and for a reason it is called business, you know?). This forum is not just a meeting point for the fans.
  2. Gary is like 20 years in the business. So, don't come folk to me that he is so naive to think X Factor is about the music or that he doesn't see clear how manipulative is everything. We have a similar competition here with Dieter Bohlen as a judge. It goes exactly like your X-Factor, exactly with big drama, family stories. You can tell which one will come in final already at the audition. And you can bet quite easy who will be in the final, watching who gets the better stories, slot and comments from Bohlen. AT the end Dieter make the winner song, wins buckets and laught a lot while the "poor winner" is after 2 maximum 3 years history. So, this is a reason i lost totally the respect from Barlow as a people. And it ruined also Take That as a credible act to me. I even didn't regret too much that i coudn't see them live (well, was more about the money i lost, as i could have invested them in some books i long wanted). I don't care how witty or how much "professional" he looks. It is just the look. And is such a pity, he can write for anyone songs in UK. And what he does? He goes with the half-talented starlets like Alesha, now with the X-factor winners. Instead trying harder and making good songs or collaboration (well, he did one but with N-dubt, wtf????) , he indulges himself to write to the ones who are always in The Sun and Dailymail. THe only song i love the words from Gary work is Never Forget. The rest lyrics are common places.
  3. There is a disscusion in other forum about Gary as a well-known across the world songwriter. Some there were very astonished that they are people in universe who doesn't know that Mr Gary Barlow is one of the best / well-known songwriter. While i don't want to take anything from Gary success, as he made the songs who made TT successfully for the beginning, i want to ask: look at this list: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_songs..._by_Gary_Barlow . Apart from the errors inside (he was not a songwriter of "4 minutes warning"), how many songs apart from the TT one do you know instantly, do you remember the melody without much thinking? Cause i can only for Mark Owen songs (which i am in a minority here) and the Geraldine one. Ok, i somehow past the Delta fenomenon, i have no idea who she is and cannot remember hearing her (was she ever big in Germany?) . But apart of that? I don't speak here about charts positions, as this normally is not a very reliable quotient of the quality of the songs. I think that Gary was a very good songwriter but only for TT / his solo. Quite all the other songs are album filler, nice but light to forgot songs. It seems to me that the magic cannot spark at the others, that the songs are powerless and without heart. So, i really cannot get the press and the public admiration everytime another article about his collaboration came. To tell the truth, if i woudn't have been a TT fan, i would have not any idea about him being a successfully songwriter. Or being a songwriter at all  . Sorry you UK people, the world doesn't revolve only on your musical axis... . But i supose his songwritting credits will go up here after him making Robbie's new album (well, i am worried for Robbie a bit).
  4. As funny as Robbie is, i cannot think that he woud choose as a producer of his new album someone whom he hate...
  5. I think that lies inthe eyes of each one, as for me this part was not awkard but the one i enjoyed the most.
  6. Oh, this was my fav part (apart from the music at the beginning) from the tour. I was tired from all buhahhhaaaaa and the circus-overload  . I actually thought "how nice, some relaxing time, they bring once again the spot-light on the music and that they try to play instruments shows their enthusiasm for the music". Do not forget that the so called profi were not so good to make a name for themselv. They are not Lang Lang... You don't know also for how many years some of TT are playing instruments. And they are not playing Rachmaninov  . I won't put playing instruments as so high and only to be aquired till you are 18. In fact my neighbourh learn now a new instruments and she play in a little orchestra (ok, amateur), but she is easily over 50.
  7. Well, their orchestration at the Progress was more electronic, synth and "computer made" one. I think he means with "real" instruments the classical ones. Kathy, i had a professor who began at 70 to learn to work with a computer. He didn't need it, but he wanted to. I have a lot of respect for those people who begins low and try to improve even when they are at their highest success. So, if three of TT feeel that they want to improve by learning now to play an instrument (Gary plays enough long piano now), they should go for it. To harmonise the voices is not so easy as one could thing. I sang in a chor and i took ofen the notes of the alto instead of soprano, just because an alto was near me. So good harmonies are good enough for me at a band. There was a band in Germany called Comedian Harmonist, was amazing what they could achieve with their voices!
  8. I don't know if i should say Hurra or Damn. Real instruments: hurrra, hurrra, hurrra! :yahoo: Less tempo: damn   ! From their last two albums the best songs were the up-tempo ones (Hold up a light, Up all night, SOS and Kidz)! Lyrics with emotional edge sounds always blah coming from Gary (apart from Never Forget i am not a fan of his lyrics, quite middle of the road, nothing to think twice (only because the grammatik is poor or i don't understand the build of the sentence i read them more) ! Do you have the whole newsletter of Gary?
  9. If i were 40 and everybody would suggest to quit my job because i am too old and the youngster are cominig , i would be very angry. After being musician for 20 years, what do you expect for them to do now? They should do music as long as they feel they want this job - oh yeah, they won't have the same amount of success, so what? If i don't like it, i wont buy it ( as i didn't buy Progress for the matter).
  10. I am sure they won't reschedule if they haven't done till now, as it would be very expensive for them. They need to gather all the dancers and crew one more time, to ship the stage and all once again. I am sure a part of the stage /technics are borrowed and needed in other places. iT is not that simple with such a mamooth gig to schedule it later. If they didn't do it after Munich, there is no chance that they did this after a while.
  11. He tryes to hard to show his love for Gary IMO...
  12. The song is not bad but bland (a bad omen for Robbies album after Shame and this one). I like the video very much! :w00t:
  13. Didn't knew where to put it, so i thought i will put here: if someone is interested in Mark's solo work and didnt have a chance to buy his gig DVD, is right now on ebay still very cheap in comparation with the price it was before. I bought myself a copy, but i still didn't get it so i still have my suspicion if this is the original thing. From another persons i have seen pics and they say that it is an original. If it is, i am a happy bunny :yahoo: . This DVD is worth only for Mark solo fans and not for TT fans, as his solo style was different if not in sound, in atmosphere. The gig is totally different from a TT gig, and he is different as in TT, so beware!
  14. I love The Cirrcus album, but i was not impressed by the Tour. The album had a marvellous retro feeling and the tour didnt do it justice It was to colourfull, to imature, to much done to please everybody, too much clowning around. After the magical "Could it be magic" and "Never forget" from BW Tour, i felt nothing similar in The Circus. Katyp is right, the tango was pure magic at Ultimate Tour. The magic moment at the Circus were the opening music with the cloud clowns: the building up and What is love when they put the clown mask .
  15. Ok, i am the only one then, who was not impressed by The Circus tour visuals then? Apart from the opening, who was brilliant, i didn't liked too much... I find The Beautiful World so intelligent, so full of small details and not that kind of show "look here how much money we invested". I saw once the DVDof The Circus (in cinema, big screen), was not impressed so i didn't even bought the DVD. I saw now some songs on youtube and i am more impressed as i was at The Circus. Some really thought there, more dark, more subtle. Not so good as Beautiful world tour, but better than The Circus. ANd i am still not sold to Robbie. For me he is only someone who overdo whatever he makes.... Yelling and jumping is NOT my kind of entertainment. That judging also from the on-line videos.
  16. Kidz for me. One of the three songs i like on he Progress, and the only one from them being a single So, easy choice!
  17. I really don't understand why Gary went to X Factor and not to The Voice (which format seems to me more serious ). Instead should have Robbie went to X factor. I do hope Robbie won't be judge to The Voice or the world is upsidedown! I won't be happy to hear Robbie screaming instead of singing. IFor me the antics, the props are second to the "singing". Thyt is way i want to hear someone live! I went to REM gig and they have only a small screen, that was all, but i got no second bored, so wonderful was the singing.
  18. Eh, if they are after fame, yeah, they should stop it (and i will loose also the last straw respect i have for them). If they are real artists, doing this job because they like music, they should continue as long as they want to say something through music no matter record sales. You know, like some Paul McCartney do .... And if they fans love them only for "their legacy" and "their amazong sales" and "the chart position" , i pity TT
  19. I didn't imply that and i read the article. my answer was to your oppionion, which i keep hearing from people here after each album and each tour. I think how far they will go further is depending on how much would Gary capitalizes on his X-factor fame for his solo career (not that it was needed, he would have success nonetheless).
  20. Didn't we hear that BEFORE EVERY album they brought out?
  21. As long you don't prescribe this positivity as a medicine for everyone while complaining about every critic here as "Negativity", be as positive as you like!
  22. Every time i hear "negativity" and "negative" related to TT as a reproach , i have to think of TTO forums. Please, can we agree that this is not a TTO forum? If people have a less-than-extatic oppinion, let it be! If someone wants to read entusiasthic posts full of love for everything TT made, TTO forum is exactly the place to be. I really want to say here my oppinion without thinking at the poor souls of TT fans, who are so shocked about people not liking every breath of TT. And i hate in real life people who order me to think positiv as the solution of all my problems and my illness. This was Off Topic and not related to pippa post, but it really bugs me. WHen i have some feelings, i have the right to have them, i puke at this social pressure "to think positive, enjoy every second, smile to everyone", so i am allergic to the words "i should not be so negative".
  23. Well, they didn't invent the ballad either, was also done a lot before. If they have continued the Circus red line, they could have discovered something new, but so they only discovered something new for themselfves. THe point is that there are a limited amount of notes, instruments and accords. So each song will end up to be a pale imitation of something else. From all TT, only for Gary is something unusual electronic music. Mark and Robbie had done it before, Howard as a succesful DJ in Germany has also to know it. SOmehow only for Gary this style seems to me forced and "artificial". WHich brings me back to my opinion that Gary is a wonderful singer but with a narrow comfort zone. And there is a reason why Jason has so little imput in this album: his voice suits "fragile" songs, folkish and stripped down better. To summ up: i don't like Progress or Progressed too much, but i don't begrudge them . I didn't buy the album as i didn't buy the DVD of The Circus (I must be the only person not liking the Circus tour, was too cartoonish for me). I try to see them on this tour as i am sure this is the last time they come to Germany and the last chance i have to see Jason, Mark and Howard. There are still a lot of songs i will enjoy.
  24. This Progressed is not my cup of tea. Does is make it worse music? No, i don't think so. It happen that i don't like overloaded "electronic" music, but the simple one, a la Depeche Mode till 95 or PetShopBoys in their glory days. This style is not likeable per se, that is way there is very much difference between what one says and the other. While i don't like this Progress, at least they try new things and i think this is imortant for an artist, even when not everything will be gold. Sure, they could have stuck to a gendre and do endlessly piano ballads  ... I also think that some of the songs from Progress would have been genial with other production and orchestration. Hope they will look for another producer for their next Album. The only think i shrug is that Robbie does a Gary produced album. Shame was nice, but is nothing worse than an album full of "nice" songs.
  25. Shine and LMEY: (amazing quality !)
