Take That for Christmas Number 1 2010!!
IrisAlbastru posted a post in a topic in Robbie Williams and Take That's Robbie Williams and Take ThatWhy don't you choose a song from the new album? I cannot blive that are so many people left in UK without Never Forget on a CD  . For a chart in top 40 at Christams Time, you need tausend buyers and for that you need also promotion! So, i predict it wont work. More than that i saw already a campaign for Could it be magic on TTO site  .

Take That, Westlife, JLS for 'X Factor'
IrisAlbastru posted a post in a topic in Robbie Williams and Take That's Robbie Williams and Take ThatI think The Flood is very hard to sing live, i thought that from the beginning. So, they were all out of tune, but ggod that they sung live not like Cheryl  And i didn't get the feeling is Robbie with backing singers, as normally you cannot tell who is the backing singer. Here, you have heard clear Gary and Howard and Mark. Robbie had the lead for the single, but there were the other involved too. Not my fav song of TT, not my style, really, but better than Greatest Day by miles. I bet some heads will roll at Polydor for bringing the song forwards or not having some real Promo last week.

IrisAlbastru posted a post in a topic in Robbie Williams and Take That's Robbie Williams and Take ThatI like the voice of Jason and a part of his songs, but everytime he opens his mouth and begin with his faux philosophie i want to shout "keep your mouth closed Jason!". He is boring, every time says the same things: how he as a dancer can still make music without being ridiculous, that he feels old, about Rob, about his place in the band. From the documentary after BW tour till now, the same same same things! Sorry, rant over! I found the documentary hard to follow, no red-line, a minute snipet, another minute snipet, without connection, without history. Just put it one after another. It didn't make me feel how they made the album, how the creativity flows. It shoed only five people in a room who have a laugh and feel comfortable or not with each other  . ok, i didn't see all of it but I much more liked the BW tour comentary, as it gave me more information why they did that song or they had that coreographie!

Take That: Look Back, Don't Stare
IrisAlbastru posted a post in a topic in Robbie Williams and Take That's Robbie Williams and Take ThatI would no worry, the tickets are in sell only for two weeks. I got tickets for Bon Jovi very late , for REM weeks after beginning the sell and also for Depeche Mode (which in Germany is massive, especially in Leipzig where i went) also not in the first week. I do think that apart from U2 and a couple of german artists, the gig tickets are not selling very fast in Germany. It doesn't help either that the name is on your ticket, so if you cannot make it in the last minutes you will hardly sell it. It is not like in UK where you buy it and after that you speaks with your family and friends who want to come... Less touts, but less flexibility also. It might be that Robbie is a lot in yellow press but very few knows about the new song. They will start in December the promotion here, so we will see... Anyway in the last time is harder and harder to fill stadiums here. The people looks at their money. I saw Razorlight and Kaiser Chiefs, as they were selling much bigger venues in UK, and they were not sold out in small venues. Bon Jovi had only 2/3 rom Leipzig Stadium. As for asking why TT does not do arena, is because of their scene and props, which are all custom made and when designed for stadium have no place in an arena. At BW tour they did also in UK arenas. To scale down the props could mean additional costs. About the price for tickets, i am quite sure that they have no educational in economics and let this aspect to the management. Nonetheless, a lot of people live because of TT gigs: the props maker, the designers, the dancers, the people who make the background videos, the pirotechniker, all of which are not living from rock gigs, for example (as only a few rock acts make design scene). PLus the normal people involved in a gig: musicians, sound techniker, back stage staff, the light engineer, the montage people, the security. Are a hell of a lot people! The music industry lives more from hese pop acts as from the rock ones

IrisAlbastru posted a post in a topic in Robbie Williams and Take That's Robbie Williams and Take ThatMark sings also only on 3 songs (also not full, on two of them half only) like Gary :naughty: . If someone is singing too much, that is Robbie, not Mark. Mark has worked hard for TT, not like Robbie who gets everything on the plate and everyone tryes to make him comfortable. Poor Howard, once again he has one of the weakest song on the album. And i like his voice so much

IrisAlbastru posted a post in a topic in Robbie Williams and Take That's Robbie Williams and Take ThatHard to judge the songs from the tiny bits... Too much electronic, to much the same sound for me. Instant liking: SOS; Kidz and Pretty things. The only songs who sounds like BW is Eight letters, but is boring  . EDIT. is a grower, isn't it? After a couple of hearing, i got from "hate it" to "don't mind it" to "oh, i cannot wait to hear the songs in full". The orchestration is very interesting. I get a very big Erasure vibe and Pretty things sound very DepecheMode! Still, Eight letters is boring and dated, is this the song compared with BeeGees? It might be saved by a great chorus still!

Album sales
IrisAlbastru posted a post in a topic in Robbie Williams and Take That's Robbie Williams and Take ThatI strongly disagree - Robbie would never sell in UK so much albums, so he benefits as well. Plus he polishes his image, as he was not so loved anymore since being such a big ego. And as far as his albums still does well in Germany, being bought as a sure present for example, his songs, apart from Bodies which benefited from massive promotion, didn't do well and were quite easy forgotten. He gets more albums sells because of the inertia and the better known name. For example TT were seen only as a joke in Germany and nobody in the press gave them a chance or listened to their album without prejudice, thinking they were only an ageing boyband, while when they hear Robbie's album they think about the "great male solo star, blah, blah". TT would have sell in UK the tickets as easy with or without Robbie, and Robbie would have sell the tickets as well so easy alone. But as Robbie doesn't seem to feel well alone on the stage , he benefits from the support of TT. So, they benefits equally from the whole Tadah

TAKE THAT 2011 PROGRESS TOUR
IrisAlbastru posted a post in a topic in Robbie Williams and Take That's Robbie Williams and Take ThatI got tickets for Hamburg, it was not easy at 12 as the server was overloaded , so i went at 5 am and got good one. My poor hubby has to come with me, and he dreads Robbie Williams and don't mind TT, because you have to put your name on the tickets

Lily loses second baby
Such a terrible terrible hit for Lily! When i was pregnant, this was my worst fear. I didn't bought anything for the baby till the eight month ... Wish you power, Lily!

Battle of the Boy Bands!
I don't think so. The JLS fan generation is not grown up to search for new artists. They will have 3-4 years more and is up to them to become "classic" or just " the band from my youth days".
-
Battle of the Boy Bands!
LOL, then noone want to go against the mighty Take That? Or everybody is poised to beat JLS? Seriously, why did Westlife change the release date anyway? They don't have a better chance for chart position....IF they were alone against TT they could have done No2, in the week with JLS and TT, they can make it only to 3 or 4 , if Susan does well. But can Susan Boyle beat Take That?
-
Battle of the Boy Bands!
So, the Boyband battle is now TT vs Westlife  But I think in singles no1 would be now the X Factor.... I don't understand why TT put it a week earlier to be honest  . Are they scared about leak as in EU is on 19 Nov the release of the album?

Duffy - Well Well Well
I liked Mercy and W.A. (while i hated the video for this one). But this new song is quite bad IMO. If she release on 29 nov the album , this is the second week of TakeThat and JLS - i don't think she will manage to be no 1 on album on the back of the single alone. She will need a lot of promotion on BBC and press as i don't think she would come to X factor...

Battle of the Boy Bands!
I was one being sure last year that Robbie will win hands down. So this time i would be more caution as TT are more for the adult generation, which doesn't rush in the first day to buy an album, but when they have time, while JLS is more for the young generation, who always has time... Also a lot more people from the adult generation woud buy an album if they like the music while the young one would buy it no matter what just because all from JLS are "fit and working hard" :naughty:

Westlife - Gravity [& New Single Safe]
Have they have always Shanks as a producer and writter or are all now in the TakeThat boat and trying to copy their success? (like Boyzone :P , used to like their first two singles after reuniting, but as a TT copy i don't like them - still they had more chart success with Shanks producing, so "copying the trend" payed for them  ).

Predict: Robbie Williams & Gary Barlow - "Shame"
I don't need to hear the song to know that will chart at no 1 :naughty: . We are talking here about THE reunion, the one which will melt all the UK hearts. Everybody loves happy-ends, so even with a crap song, the reunion-story will give them a bust. Not even if George Bush Jr and Osama would be seen eating hamburgers at McDonalds would be as important for the tabloids and broad UK audience as Robbie and Gary smoking the peace pipe... Off topic: As for who is more loved in TT it depends...if we are talking about the hard fans, like those haunting the TT Official site, i would say that is Jason .

iTunes Chart: July 2010
It used to be a time when i could find decent songs in UK top 10 - you are right with the 2007 -2008 era . Those times seem now dead. This year was the worse in No 1-10 i saw in UK. That JLS song is so awful that it convinced me how bad the UK taste in music is nowadays :puke2:

Rybak - No Boundaries
Te new album of Rybak is out now. You can get to hear on youtube a lot of the songs from it. I love First Kiss right now  : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A07uWGLkD3A I do think i love the first album much more as this one (what i heard till now). I still keep listening to 13 horses an it is still epic like the first time i heard it .... Curious if on this album is anything comparable.

Individual jury/televotes
This is my fav german entry ever. I was gutted that it did so poor, i blame the very static scene they chooses. Should they have some line dancers, something more "wow", it would have fare better. So it was only good for my generation, but not for the youth one ...
