I was thinking:
Will older artists do better on streaming in the future as the average Spotify user gets older?
Right now, it is mostly young people who use Spotify, and they listen to younger artists. But as these streamers get older, they will likely still be streaming, but streaming older artists.

Lots of new entries this week! This week's new highest new entry goes to The 1975, whose first single from their third album, Give Yourself a Try goes straight to #1. The 1975 have 5 songs in this week's chart, including Sex at #2 and Love Me at #19. There are lots of other new entries in the top 10: including Explore by Sundara Karma, the lead single from Gorillaz' new album Humility ft. George Benson, Run for Cover by The Killers from their latest album Wonderful Wonderful, Brazil by Declan McKenna, Girls Like You by Maroon 5 ft. Cardi B, as the next single from their album Red Pill Blues. The other new entry into the top 10 is Edge of the Night by Sheppard, whose second album Watching the Sky comes out on the day of posting this.
Other new entries and high climbers in the top 40 include a big rise for OneRepublic ft. Logic, whose song Start Again from the 13 Reasons Why soundtrack rises 22 places. In its 5th week in the chart, George Ezra's Shotgun finally enters the top 10 at #10. Wolf Alice's latest single Space & Time enters at #13, and Dream Wife's Fire re-enters at #14.

What will replace streaming?

I think streaming will remain for a long time.
But what I do think will change are the artists being streamed. Younger people now will still be streaming when they are older, and they will likely be streaming older artists in the future.
If artists like Ed Sheeran stay relevant, I think he could quite easily have hits in 20 years time as his audience grow older with him.
