I believe Jamiroquai do have other permament band members, don't they? Their bassist and keyboardist even have their own Wiki pages! (bothhave been in the band since 2002 and 2005).

Yeh this is really random but I really like the sound of it.

It wasn’t massively instant on me, but it’s grown.

Unfortunately I did find this album quite forgettable in the end. While there were some standouts with 'These Are The Days' (one of my faves of theirs overall now) and 'Love Will Get You There', not much else has caught my attention. I'll give it another listen at some point though!

It won’t have any impact at all.

It also probably doesn’t help that they’re a London band, as it doesn’t give them the same sort of local connection that helps indie bands’ sales like The Reytons, The Snuts, The Lathums, etc.

Yeah, I think they’re a case of people liking their songs but not necessarily buying into them as a band?

 

And while their debut album’s songs have pretty decent streaming numbers, not one of their currently most popular 10 songs on Spotify is from Homesick.

I’m not sure their chart placements are necessarily the reason behind it though. Having a 1-week charting album and certainly no charting singles is the same for most indie bands that don’t get dropped. But even their 1 week sales weren’t particularly great, and as a band they don’t seem to be growing much anymore. So I’m not too surprised really.

Thought Arlo Parks would have been doing much better!

She'll be mainly relying on physicals. I think her debut album had a similar iTunes position and ender up having great sales, I'll have to check though!
