  3. Flip A Switch could easily be a big hit if people bothered to move on from Escapism

It’s not just that easy though… lots of ‘Escapism’ listeners (like with a lot of TikTok hit follow-ups) probably don’t even know that ‘Flip a Switch’ is a even a thing.

  4. Are those two songs really an example of ‘acoustic’?

Either way, as I have for at least two eras now, it’s be nice to see them go back to earlier sounds. The last two albums didn’t leave much to go back to.

Acoustic-ish I suppose  it’s been a while since I listened to either in fairness!

  5. are both Noel and Foo Fighters sticking to the original release date? sure a chart battle exacerbates sales but also means someone is gonna be stuck at #2 despite high sales

Currently, yes! It'll definitely be close. Noel's last studio album sold more than the Foo's, but there's a lot more "buzz" (probably not the world, but I can't think of another) around the Foo's new one as it's their first since Taylor died.

However, Foo's will be more focused on the international market, so I can't see them moving anyway.

    Previous sales:

    2017: Foo Fighters - Concrete & Gold [#1, 61,254]

2017: Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds - Who Built the Moon? [#1, 77,853] - their most recent studio album

    2021: Foo Fighters - Medicine at Midnight [#1, 42,486]

    2021: Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds - Back the Way We Came: Vol. 1 (2011-2021) [#1, 28,384]
