2000 Records Of The Year
I was gonna vote, but I could barely scrape 10 together that I knew - so

The Best Number 1 of 2002?
I voted for a true classic :D One of the very few Singles I've bought in the last decade. George Harrison - My Sweet Lord More Than A Woman, would have been my second choice.

New Release Schedule - January 29
The latest music week report said that over 90% of this weeks singles sales (w/e 27/01/07) were downloads, so that's less than 10% that were physical. Are there any plans to list the release dates of downloads? Perhaps giving the physical release dates (if any) along side. :D

The New Release Schedule - January 22
I take it that the list is for physical release dates? Are download release dates, particulary for singles, planned to be shown at all?

Should the Top 200 singles be made more available?
I think a top 100 published would be nice, but I wonder how many different songs got downloaded this week? I mean, could the chart - well chart to 15,000 or something. 80,000 even? Is that figure over the top or even an understatment? And as for popular TV talent shows, I think it will be very interesting to see what sort of effect they might have on the singles chart. But I don't think the top 40 will be effected that much. Only time will tell I guess.

Are Midweeks really necessary now?
I think the midweeks are a fundamental part of this website. I understand when people say it waters it down, less impact and that sort of thing, but I like em.

The UK Charts have hit rock bottom...
I don't think it matters if a song has never been a single before, but appears on an album. If it's downloaded on an individual basis then why not. I guess if non-single tracks were excluded from the "singles chart" (or is it song chart now  ) then that would probably have meant that Koopa wouldn't have charted with "Blag, Steel & Borrow" this week.

The UK Charts have hit rock bottom...
This new look chart is so much better. With the possible exception of the Christmas #1, these days it's so much more unpredictable. Which is great.

Iron Maiden - Different World
I love "Flight Of Icarus" and "The Trooper"

Should a 'recurrents' chart and rules be brought in?
NO This new chart is now even more reflective of popular taste :winner: As they say, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it"

Peter Andre Has A Million Selling Single :O
We can't be that far off from the UK's 100th million selling single, can we? B) I wonder if Channel 4 would then do a 100 UK million selling singles programme?

Favourite Album track you wish would chart.
What I think what you're wanting is in fact a kind of specialist chart, not so much a particular genre i.e Rock or Dance, but more like a Modernism specialist chart. Yes???

Albums You're Looking Forward To This Year?
I've just watched a video called Passion by Utada Hikaru and I thought both the song and the video were great.

Shake-up set to boost charts
I've highlighted to bit that for me is why I have no regrets about the inclusion of downloads in the first place and why I think the latest rules are fab. :yahoo:

Shake-up set to boost charts
The argument, that including downloads in compiling the "singles" chart would block new talent because "the top 40 would be clogged up with non-budging old tunes" looks flawed - well to me at any rate! And from also reading an article in today's Guardian newspaper, opinion seems to be that downloads will help, not hinder breaking new talent. So there! to all you doubters and fans of physical only charts.

Favourite Album track you wish would chart.
I have to confess, I'm a bit in the dark when it comes to downloads, I've only ever done it the traditional way, by visiting a record shop  I don't even own a mobile phone, let alone have an mp3 or i-pod or whatever. I assumed it was gonna be "open-season" with virtually any downloaded album track qualifiying for the chart. What do I know  not a lot it seems  Oh well.

Chart shake up from 1st January
There's 2 versions of "Crazy" I've heard, by Gnarles Barkley. Would these sales be combined or would "Crazy" (sales allowing) have 2 separate chart positions? Also, I presume some Album tracks are available to download individually. So, if a single is around, would sales from both sources be combined or chart separately? What if the single version varies from the Album version, would that make a difference?

Favourite Album track you wish would chart.
With the new chart regulations coming into effect today, I just wondered, what songs would you like to see chart?

I was thinking more along the lines of The Beatles , "Hey Jude" or something, oh yeah "Something" That would be nice to see chart.

Chart shake up from 1st January
I think that both tomorrows singles chart as well as next weeks will be both very active and very interesting.

Which would be the #1s of 2006
That's a shame. Nothing against TT, but it would have given Cliff his 6th decade where he would have had a #1 hit single. Does anyone think he can still do it? He still has time, but...
