  1. Perhaps it would be good if there were reviewable optimum prices for each format. Say £2 for a physical single. Anything priced on or above it could count as 1 purchase = 1 unit for the charts and anything cheaper, 1 purchase = the relevent fraction of 1 unit for the charts. -_-
  2. See the "Nelly Furtado" (single price!?!) thread.
  3. Price must factor with purchases, 99p for Maneater wasn't it?

This is becoming a legendary series. Dare I say it, but I think it's better than the X Files! Nearly typed in X Factor  But it's better than that I think by a MILE!!!

As someone else pointed out before, with physicals, there are a hundred or more to choose from at a given time, but with downloads, well, it must run into the tens or hundreds of thousands to choose from, possibly even more. So I think sales are healthy, it's just that it is being spread out across a far larger field. For example, I recently noticed Bohemian Rhapsody lurking in the download top 50 chart.
  6. First it was Shayne Ward, then Rihanna and now Infernal. That's 3 records debuting the same week and all reaching #2 in the singles chart, which got me thinking. I wonder what one week of releases ever produced the most number one singles? Occasionally, we get 2 singles released the same week and they swap places at the top of the chart on their second week. But I wouldn't be surprised if there have been instances where 3 or more records have gone on to reach number 1 (i.e. from same day release).
  7. OMG!, and you thought Gnarles Barkley would probably have the longest running #1 of the year. But seriously, I think it might just make numero uno at the most for 2 weeks, but realistically think it will probably peak at numbers 2 or 3. What am I saying, I haven't even seen it or heard it yet.

I don't think GB sales will drop that much as there is now the newsworthy event of X Factor winner being deprived of the #1 spot only by GB. So Rihanna #2 me thinks, and Shayne possibly down to #4 ???

I'm a fan of Morrissey's, but I still think the combined chart is better.
  10. So no or little air play. I wonder, just how do radio and music stations select what they play? What influences them?
  11. Well, I still think that Roger Moore was the epitomy of Bond. And as for Baddies, Jaws was my favourite. So, "The Spy Who Loved Me" and "Moonraker" were top notch. Timothy Dalton I would rank alongside George Lazenby. Just not my cuppa Tea, but excelent I've no doubt. One other thing; Why is humour perhaps seen by some to be a purely juvenile aspect. I would have thought that humour, if anything is the more sophisticated genre!
  12. For me Roger Moore was James Bond. Pierce Brosnan 2nd. I liked a little bit of humour thrown in, it makes for an enjoyable film. I'm not too keen on overly serious takes on Bond. Wasn't it David Niven who played (well this confuses me, I assume it's Bond, but no one ever seems to mention David Niven's name with Bond) in the original Casino Royale. Haven't seen this film myself though. Well, is this a re-make?
  13. I wouldn't be at all surprised if "Crazy" sold 130k or more this week.
  14. I only tend to listen to bits of it sometime afterwards, when it's posted for the week on the BBC Radio One website. I could never in the past spend 2 hours or even 3 listening to the entire countdown. I prefered it, when on a Tuesday Lunchtime, the top 5 would be played, followed for about an hour by some of the New entries and climbers. And if I missed that, there was always the hour long chart show that evening.

So, is this coming Sunday's chart going to be purely physicals only, or does this just effect first week download only inclusions?

Yes, Fab film and some great background music. I saw it with my other half. Can't wait to get my hands on the DVD. Sometime in April I believe, well I hope so. Can't comment on the Oscars, as I haven't seen the other films that were in contention for best film. Can't remember what won though.

Oh, I see. Well that's better then. What I do know is, that this last X Factor series, I'm glad I resisted picking up the phone. I rooted for Andy and one extra vote wouldn't have changed the result.

If that's the case, then it's dreadful. Multiple single buying doesn't count toward the charts, so why should multiple voting have been counted? Shame. I hope Andy has a big successful career!
