Simultaneous Top Ten Hits
Rihanna's Shut Up and Drive was 11 while Umbrella was at 7 so it just missed out. Prince also had The Hits/The B Sides in the Top Ten aswell as Hits 1 and Hits 2. The 2 Beatles albums were both in the Top Ten in 1973 and again in 1993. In 1993 the album chart had 2 Beatles and 2 Prince albums in the Top Ten in the same week.

Simultaneous Top Ten Hits
Relax after being No1 fell down as far as No31 before reclimbing the charts to eventually end up at No2 in the same week that Two Tribes was No1. Manic Street Preachers released 2 singles in the same week in 2001 which entered at 8 & 9. Guns N Roses in 1991 and Bruce Springsteen in 1992 both released 2 albums in the same week which took the Top 2 positions of the Album Chart. Some more acts with Simultaneous Top Ten Hit Singles are Wham (1985) Meat Loaf (1993) and Dina Carroll (1993)

Songs That Did Better Than The Follow Up
Over the last few years we have seen lots of songs spend weeks in the top 40 while the follow up single makes little impact. How many songs can you think of that have done this. I don't remember this happening in the past but 2 I can remember were Bryan Adams (his next 2 singles peaked lower than the position of Everything I Do in that week) and Leann Rimes whose follow up to How Do I Live peaked at 38 while How Do I Live was at 32.

Suprise Number Ones
Steve Brookstein in 2005 (I thought Band Aid 20 would keep him off). Sam and Mark in 2004 (were they really that popular). Mad World in 2003 (thought Darkness would be a dead cert for Christmas No1). Bob The Builder in 2000 (thought it had it's chance when it entered behind Eminem). Gabrielle in 2000 (2nd song off the album and had not been No1 since 1993). Cliff in 1999 (surprised it entered at 2 and even more surprised when it made No1. Blondie in 1999 (not had a hit since the 1980's) Cher (released in the same week as George Michael,U2,Culture Club & Alanis Morissette but beat them all).

Physical Singles Going To Go Up ?
The Physical CD single is dead now that Woolworths have stopped selling it as there are now many towns where you cannot buy a CD single anymore.
