I agree with Jonjo, Pink is MASSIVE (arguably bigger than Bieber), with a current judge, so very much the same as last year. 2010; Cheryl's mate and his band with a single that needed a push, with an ex-winner and a TV show at it's peak. 2009; This was the show's biggest year, GaGa was performing with a song that made her what she became, and Janet gave us that incredible awkward run off stage, so for that, she wins life.

Sales aren't as low in January as they used to be though, with iTunes gift card Christmas presents, and with 6 weeks of big Christmas sales under her belt by this time (perhaps slightly more), I doubt she could sustain it to be number 1 in the new year. More likely her second track off the album would be charting by then.
