  1. But do you seriously think Tesco or anyone else will do that ? They will instead put the squeeze on their suppliers and harass farmers to reduce their margins and also put up prices on other products to make up the extra cost of meeting the wage increases which in turn puts up inflation which in turn affects us all. Tescos is not a charity it is there to make a profit and pay dividends to it's shareholders, if they pay extra £2 an hour to their low paid employees they will make the same profit as like I said they will simply put up prices
  2. Money has to be invested though in factories, in upgrading stores, in creating new stores and so on it doesn't just go in bonuses to Terry Leahy etc
  3. If it is done over a period of time, gradually raising allowances and not done all in one go I would not have any objections to that
  4. It is not practical burdening the likes of Tesco with increased costs, they employ around 200,000 people in this country, lets say for arguments sake 150,000 of those are on minimum wage (check out people/shelf stackers etc), giving each of them say an extra £2 an hour would increase Tesco's costs by £300,000 an HOUR, over a year that is a scary amount of money and how will Tesco's fund this ? by putting up prices that's how which in turn leads to inflation.
  5. Lowest paid workers are being taken out of tax altogether, some 800,000 lowest paid workers (minimum wage) won't be paying tax at all now thanks to the budget Rather than burden employers with inflationary pay rises it is far better to change tax allowances for the lowest paid and keep the minimum wage as it is
  6. He should bring a case under the human rights act, he was a CHILD when he played for Spain so it is unfair that something he did as a child should damage his career as an adult He never represented Spain as an adult in any tournament only as a child so he is being denied the chance to play for the country he wishes to play for
  7. Just heard Olly for the first time today and it deserves to be 1, fukkin awesome song Avoided him as I assumed his song would be the cheesy $h!te he did on X Factor but it is one of the best songs of the year
  8. Yeah I live in South London/ Surrey borders and the roads and everywhere else around here are packed :/ would love to do a house swap with you lol
  9. Hopefully that won't be long in coming
  10. I would not have shed any tears if the CIA had assassinated Hussein or something BUT deposing Hussein and America stealing Iraq's oil came at the cost of tens of thousands of Iraqi civillian lives at the hands of our missiles and Iraq is far more dangerous and unstable now than it was under Hussein, you have gone completely cuckoo if you think Iraq is better now Hussein has gone. Not to mention 7/7 and 21/7 were as a direct result of the invasion
  11. LOL difference is that the typical p**** is not a fat skinhead whereas the typical juvenile delinquent is from lower stock and from a family where the parents can't cope/don't give a $h!t Fair play to the guy for working but no way can a mum give 10 kids the love and attention they need
  12. I have no issue with doctors, nurses etc coming over from other EU countries, the ones I have objection to are the unemployed, the pikeys, the squeegee merchants, the car washers, the Eastern European beggars that harrass people on underground trains, the ones that send all their money home instead of spending it here etc We should have a right as a country to decide who lives here and who doesn't
  13. They need us more than we need them, us and Germany and France are the only countries in Europe that are economic powerhouses, the rest are either economically backward, crippled by debt thanks to the Euro and not allowed to change their interest rates because of a treaty or too small to be of any economic significance. If we pulled out of the EU it would make absolutely no difference to our trading within Europe while at the same time we would not be burdened with bailing out lame duck countries and not bound to take in all their economic migrants
  14. They can still be in it, there is just no real reason why we need to be a part of it or bound by things We should form an alliance with Germany, France and Spain and draw up a trading pact with those nations and other nations if they wish but without being bound by stuff like citizens of other countries coming in droves to live here.
  15. The best way for them to develop into mature democracies is for their citizens to stay where they are and help shape that nation and put it on to the path of a prosperous economy instead of getting on the next Ryan Air/Easyjet flight to the UK or Germany.
  16. EU immigration is the big problem, as the EU expands and more and more economically backward nations being allowed to join along with Turkey it is open season for Europeans to come settle here
  17. People living longer, uncontrolled EU immigration, non EU immigration
  18. I am more in favour of reducing the current population by halting all immigration bar professionals who are urgently needed to fill certain professions As people die then the population will gradually come down or at worst stay still
  19. I am in favour of a withdrawal from the EU in all areas except free trade, we should be building up long term relationships with China, Russia, India etc as that is where the serious money is going to be in the next 20 years, the only countries we really need strong trading ties with are Germany, France and Spain and I doubt pulling out of the EU would lead to the cancellation of a single order from companies in those countries, the idea that if we quit the EU the rest of Europe will stop trading with us is a myth, like telling kids the bogeyman is going to eat them
  20. We are still a tiny island though with a crumbling infrastructure, in a decade we will probably be around the 70m mark, scary
  21. Was evening things up ;) ultra rich royal family this time as opposed to the 3rd world poor
  22. I don't have the figures to hand and since am on the iPad it is too much of a task to research tonight but the population has exploded massively in the last decade and I very much doubt that is due to solely indigenous population expansion
  23. Far better to cull the royal family and keep the land as it is :) I am a fields person, love green belt and open fields and national parks so it is annoying to see it all being eroded for houses and shopping malls
  24. Kuyt is a fantastic player but was totally used badly by Rafa, usually played out of position, Kalou is a decent player but underused by Chelsea, most of the time I see him he is on the bench. I don't think the Dutch league is an amazing league, it is not as strong as England, Spain, Italy and probably not Germany but I would say it is the next highest
  25. While I don't agree with Shelli's proposal for culling all kids after the 4th she is spot on that it is an overcrowded island We have 58m people living here and are a tiny island, our roads are exceptionally overcrowded, our green belt is being eroded to build new houses, our hospitals and schools are overcrowded etc The reason for that is immigrants so rather than cull babies I would rather stop all inbound immigration bar a select few who can make a major contribution to the country
