teachers strike...
Nah there would be a fixed centralised national curriculum that would have to be followed by all schools but it would be heavily revised with scrapping of irrelevant subjects to the world of work and replaced with things that would be far more relevant to real life Money management, business studies, german, japanese or mandarin as they are the biggest business languages after English, economics, childcare those kinda things should be compulsary in schools for all and scrap $h!t like RE

No I think the teaching of religion in schools should be banned if parents want to teach their kids religion then great but it doesn't belong in schools, I would scrap all faith schools too be it christian, muslim, jewish, catholic schools or whatever, religion to me doesn't belong in schools

God helps us... Boris Johnson is in
Today he has announced a ban on drinking alcohol on buses and tubes in London, while it is probably impossible to police it is a sign to me that he intends to crack down on the chav culture in London and make it a safer place, words have to be backed up with deeds but I think he means well http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/london/7387113.stm

No Olympics has ever made a profit as far as I am aware and I don't believe London will either which ultimately will lead to council tax bills going into the stratosphere to bail London out of the big financial black hole the olympics will generate, this is the party that bought us the financial fiascos of the Dome, the National Library, Wembley Stadium, do you really believe they will keep within the costs for the Olympics ? The olympics will be the biggest financial nightmare for London ever

Main things I didnt like were 1) Congestion charge - As a motorist I want to be able to go where I want and when I want without politicians making me pay 2) Getting rid of Routemaster buses in favour of those grotesque current things 3) Reneging on a deal that would have enabled rail access to Spurs' planned new ground 4) Getting the Olympics to London, while giving a short term boost to regeneration of the East end it will long term mean Londoners will be footing the bill for the massive financial loss the thing will make for a generation

Given my political roots I would vote for a chimpanzee if it was the official Tory candidate, I vote for parties as opposed to individuals so I never voted Johnson I voted for the party I think the guy deserves a chance, he screws up then he is toast at the next election but he could hardly do a worse job than Red Ken

I don't think he should be judged because of what he did on Have I Got News For You William Hague has been a panelist and guest presenter of the show and he still showed that in his professional capacity as a politician he could be serious if he needed to be when meeting dignatries and royalty etc so Johnson I am sure will be serious as a mayor and professional If he f***s up then he can be voted out in 4 years but he deserves a chance

Driving lessons cost set to soar under plan to cut young
The skills are still there though The more experienced you get the more you know your limits and what is your capabilities, I know my limits and what I can do behind the wheel of a car so even though I drive fast I have never had an accident except when I hit a deer which was beyond my control, that is why I have protected no claims bonus etc etc because I know where my limits are and you can only get that with EXPERIENCE A young driver with little experience does not know where the limits are and that is why the majority of accidents and fatalities on the road are young lads with little experience showing off to their mates with their rave music blaring out and having a shunt because they didnt have the experience to handle the speed they were doing I have had tyres blow out on me, I have aquaplaned in the wet, I have had a track rod end go on me, I have had a brake failure on a car, I have gone into slides on black ice but the reason why they didn't end in accidents was because I had the car control to get out of those situations, a young lad driving for a few months doesn't Sorry if I sound arrogant about my driving capabilities I am not trying to be I am emphasising the point that even if silly habits creep in an experienced driver has the experience to get out of risky situations when a young lad showing off to his mates doesn't

labour get a thumping..... local elections
Not if the state pension is substantially increased, pensioners aren't taxpayers nor are the disabled, i would increase disability benefits for the GENUINELY disabled who realistically have no chance of working, in turn I would remove the workshy and the fake disabled from the benefits system

I don't think its Thatcherite at all Someone wants to have a kid, great, but they can pay for it and its upkeep Someone is too lazy to work, fine their choice but don't expect any money from taxpayers to fund that lifestyle Someone wants to come and live in this country, fine, their choice but if they aren't earning any money they don't get any off the taxpayer when they haven't put anything into the coffers I don't see those sort of things as Thatcherite one bit I drive a nice car, I worked my bollocks off to buy it, I saved and I saved again and felt proud when I bought it, am I meant to feel guilty when I am driving in that car and see someone in a 20 year old banger or bicycle who can't afford an Impreza ? no, why should I, again that is not Thatcherite

The things currently exempt from VAT would stay exempt from VAT I don't think anyone has any obligation to anyone in society apart from the sick and the elderly I don't think a wealthy person or a middle earner has any obligation to the lower end of society, of course there has to be protection for the vulnerable like the sick and the disabled and so on but its a dog eat dog sink or swim society so EVERYONE has an obligation to themselves and their families and no one else as far as I am concerned Everyone has an obligation to WORK, everyone has an obligation to be a law abiding citizen those that choose not to work have no right as far as I am concerned to have or to expect the rich or middle class or anyone else provide for them There has never been an equal society and there never will be, everyone's obligation is to themselves and their families no one else as far as I am concerned

Sure Sugar and co are extreme examples but in your original thing of £80k a year + there are people like lawyers, barristers, doctors, consultants, surgeons, dentists, IT specialists, senior marketing and sales managers and so on who earn that sort of money and by increasing their tax burden runs the risk of these very talented people taking part in the "brain drain" and moving to countries where there is less of a tax burden
-
labour get a thumping..... local elections
I am personally in favour of scrapping income tax altogether and sharply increasing the rate of VAT in order to make up the shortfall, then that way tax is based on what people actually SPEND as opposed to what people actually earn so then everyone is paying into the coffers and someone who buys a Ferrari is going to pay more into the system than someone who buys a Renault Clio, scrapping income tax altogether and replacing it with a sales tax means high spenders pay more tax and also there is no more tax loopholes to be exploited

Sugar has worked exceptionally hard for these "selfish luxuries" that he has, read his biography mate he started his business in his teens and worked from 5am to 8pm 7 days a week to build it up so if he has earned a few luxuries like yachts and property and flash cars etc then good luck to the guy, I dont begrudge him a single penny or a single luxury, what you are saying sounds to me the politics of envy, Sugar, Ecclestone, Abramovich, Green etc may have become billionaires but I dont begrudge them a single penny, between them they also employ close on 200,000 people I agree that the ordinary man in the street is over taxed including the professions you listed I don't dispute that but squeezing out a bit more money out of the wealth creators and so on is at best a symbolic gesture made of envy and nothing more The way to ease the tax burden for the ordinary man in the street is : 1) Massive changed to the benefits system, too many people are taking liberties big time 2) Getting the unemployed off their asses and into work thus making them taxpayers 3) Massive cuts in bureaucracy in Whitehall and areas like the NHS Those sort of things are far more productive to the tax system than adding a few pence onto Sugar's tax bill because some people are envious of him

labour get a thumping..... local elections
In my opinion there is no reason why any able bodied person of working age should be out of work, the idea of the welfare state being a way of life should not be an option, everyone who is able bodied should be working, there are a lot of jobs around and people should simply not be claiming benefits, the priority for the economy is getting the unemployed off their asses and into work as the welfare state is a MASSIVE drain on the economy, it really grates me seeing people out of work using up my taxes when there is so many vacancies being advertised

My glam rock album
I never liked his music anyways so makes no difference to me but if you can't buy Glitter records would you still listed if you were a fan ?? to : Chuck Berry (paid millions to women to avoid court action as a peeping tom who spied on women showering and using the toilet) Michael Jackson (paid millions to Jordi Chandler's parents) Foundations (one of the lead members convicted of similar offences to Glitter) Rolling Stones (Bill Wyman had a relationship with underage Mandy Smith) Bay City Rollers (one of their lead members convicted of child sex offences) Jerry Lee Lewis (married an under age girl) R Kelly (Arrested for sex offences) All those people are despicable but it would be hypocritical to say ban Glitter from a glam rock album then go home and put on a Michael Jackson album would be hypocritical

Ultimately if you soak the rich then that will not do anything for the poor except put more of them out of work, start hammering entrepreneurs then ultimately it will lead to job losses among ordinary employees of those companies or whole organisations being moved to India to save money again putting ordinary workers out of work

Stop pandering to Muslims says 'silent majority'
Its nothing to do with The Sun or BNP Scott, my views on Nick Griffin and the BNP are well documented and their hatred of jews with me being jewish myself means I would never in a billion years support the BNP but the issue is about RESPECT, respect for our customs and traditions, respect for our rules of law, respect for the indigenous populations way of life, as long as those are adhered to I have no objection to their presence here but those that are not willing or able to conform to the above as far as I am concerned are not welcome here regardless of nationality The only laws of this country that are welcome are the laws set down by parliament and rubber stamped by the queen, those wanting sharia law and a good number of muslims appear to want it are in the wrong country

Driving lessons cost set to soar under plan to cut young
Who is going to pay the instructors to go out at night and do night conditions driving ? who is going to pay the instructors for the increased insurance of insuring the car for learners to drive on motorways ? who is going to pay the examiner for the extended test and the hiring of extra examiners to cope with the work ? the tooth fairy ? of course more complex tests would result in an increase in prices and so it should

I agree about the tax on the poor the 10% tax band scrapping was outrageous but I think that rather than simply raise the top rate of tax to subsidise the poor that there should be savings in other areas of the economy and the money from those savings particularly in red tape, bureaucracy, management consultants and so on should be given to the poor in tax allowances as opposed to simply "soaking the rich" as Scott would say

labour get a thumping..... local elections
Disagree, there is nothing whatsoever stopping someone of a working class background from making a success of their lives, setting up a business and working hard is not about class, look at the likes of Alan Sugar, Bernie Ecclestone, Philip Green, all born on council estates but now BILLIONAIRES because they had a vision and worked hard to build up their businesses from scratch, a working class person is just as open to setting up a business and creating a business as one of middle class You are right in terms of say the professions, the majority of lawyers, doctors, dentists and so on come from a middle class and public school background but in terms of actual enterprise and setting up businesses which are the very people I dont think should be penalised by the tax system everyone is equal regardless of class it is an unequal world, always has been and always will be that will never change but I can't change my opinion that entrepreneurs and innovators should not be penalised in the name of political dogma

Stop pandering to Muslims says 'silent majority'
The only special treatment muslims should get is directions to Heathrow airport if they don't like it here, anyone coming to this country be it from Poland or Pakistan should have respect and abide by the customs, traditions and laws of OUR society, if they are not willing to then they are not wanted here and can go do one Want Shariah law ? fine, f*** off to Teheran or Riyadh it ain't wanted here
