  1. Can't see beyond a 3-1 Pompey win
  2. The Oxford Dictionary should be amended under the entry "Vile" and the name Frank Lampard added to the meaning but I wouldn't wish this on anyone
  3. China being awarded the games is the best thing that could have happened If China had not been awarded the games people would read about Tibet and think "poor Tibetans" and carry on munching their cornflakes in apathy as has happened over the last 30 years but instead the eyes of the world are on China and tibet is suddenly the hot topic of the day around the globe so the best thing that could have happened to the tibeans But boycotts will not change anything in terms of China and will only punish the athletes themselves, if Britain pulled out would anyone outside of Britain give a monkeys we are not there when there is 140 other countries there ? no, it would just be a symbolic gesture that would get a few brief headlines and be forgotten about in a couple of days

Well said Vile vile man, shame as he seemed a decent guy when he was younger and marched for black rights with Martin Luther King etc its a shame he turned into the creature he did
  5. Ian Gillan (much prefer his work with Deep Purple than solo) Beyonce (hate her solo c**p) Bruce Dickinson (legend with Iron Maiden but apart from his remake of All The Young Dudes don't like him solo) Freddie Mercury ( ewwwwwwwwww at Living On My Own, Barcelona, Great Pretender but a god with Queen) Bob Geldof (loved Boomtown Rats but god he did some c**p solo stuff) Paul McCartney (some great stuff with Beatles and Wings but some cringeworthy solo c**p (Frog Chorus for instance))

Good on him ^_^ All this "Sir" $h!t is fawning and arse licking of the highest order, as a working class lad who was bought up on a council estate Sugar of all people should be against being called Sir, its sooooooooooo colonial I would not call him Sir either, I met the late Lord White at a business function once and called him Gordon as opposed to "your lordship" $h!t :)

The winner this year has to be a woman If these remaining guys are the cream of British enterprise then god help Britain
  8. China's regime is repugnant but is America's any better ? Fixed elections (2000), Guantanamo Bay, Abu Ghirab, illegal invasion of Iraq, genocide on a grand scale in Shock And Awe China have an appalling human rights record but lets not kid ourselves in thinking they are any worse than America
  9. You yourself took advantage of the climate of enterprise that Maggie created I saw on Net-Weather that you have been self employed for 22 years which is right bang in the middle of the Maggie era so you yourself took advantage of the culture and climate that she created, also you have said before that you have contracts with schools for your work, again that is down to Maggie putting services out to private tender, I don't know your financial circumstances it is none of my business but I definitely feel from those 2 things you listed that Maggie was not all bad for you financially and work wise I have not approved of everything she did, I did not like her attitude towards homosexuality, I thought her "there is no such thing as society" comment was ill judged, I thought the poll tax while good idea in theory was dreadfully handled but overall I would say she was 80% a great PM and 20% not
  10. You can't be old enough to remember Callaghan then  Healey having to go cap in hand to the IMF to bail us out of a financial crisis, hyper inflation, 3 day week, industry like cars paralysed by strike action, dead unburied, rubbish piled up in the streets, green goddesses, power cuts, the Callaghan period left Britain a banana republic in as big a f***ed up state as the worst excesses of Africa or South America economically, Britain suffered far far worse under Callaghan than under Maggie Maggie had to take some tough measures to get Britain back on its feet, they were necessary at the time as Britain went from a country full of lame duck bankrupt manufacturers propped up by taxpayers money to a dynamic service and retail economy, sure there was a few sectors of society that did not do as well under Maggie as others but she encouraged get up and go, she encouraged enterprise, she encouraged people to set up businesses She was unlucky she had a global recession under her watch (USA inspired) but when she left power we had gone from being European version of Panama and the "sick man of Europe" to the FOURTH most powerful economy in the WORLD so even if some did not do so well out of her no one can deny her achievements in turning round our economy Basil Fawlty summed up British industry under Labour in the 70's perfectly - "The British Leyland Concerto in four movements, all of them slow, with a four hour tea-break in between."

What a f***ed up family :manson: While not pre judging what the courts will decide that family has serious issues
  12. I missed the program unfortunately but certainly think mass immigration from particularly Eastern Europe is a bad thing for this country both in demands on the infrastructure of this country (houses, roads, transport network, schools, hospitals) and on our cultural identity, I welcome SOME immigration in the sense that I always welcome high quality hard working overseas professionals coming here but our cultural identity and traditional British way of life is going to be more and more eroded for the indigenous population unless the country says enough is enough and we only let in qualified professionals as opposed to the peasants, gypsys and nomads that seem to be flooding into this country from Eastern Europe.
  13. If only she could be Prime Minister again :( But the fact she is held in so much regard and affection by the British public shows that she is not this brutal fascist dictator that some (Russ and Scott for instance) make her out to be

  15. The countryside and green belt is an integral part of Britain and it is obscene to see huge swathes of green belt being demolished in order to build houses to cope with the population explosion particularly of immigrants it goes back to what I was saying in a thread the other day that Britain is full and the infrastructure can't cope with the flood of immigrants coming to this country particularly from Eastern Europe
  16. Cannabis should be legalised as should ALL drugs, people are going to take them anyways and far better off them being legally on sale and paying tax to the government than under the control of gangsters and pimps and people committing crime because they fear their legs being broken by their dealer I would legalise all drugs not just cannabis but cocaine, heroin, ecstacy and so on and take the bloody things out of the control of the dealers and bring in life means life tarriffs for anyone caught dealing in drugs or supplying them The money saved on policing and so on and fighting drug related crime could be spent on awareness and education programmes but it is time to cut the pushers, pimps, gangsters and dealers out of the supply chain
  17. Its no big deal to me Are Brits any different when they go and live in Costa Del Sol ? no, they form communities of ex pats and live and mix among their own so why should it be any different from say Brixton for blacks, Southall for Asians, Golders Green for Jews and so on ? it is human nature to live and mix among your own And anyone who has been to Melbourne would know that Lygon St Italian quarter is a great asset to the city as is Kuala Lumpur's Chinatown and so on
  18. 1)Alonso had a c**p exit out of the previous corner 2) Hamilton had a very good run out of the previous corner 3) Alonso was being very defensive and tried to block by moving to the inside 4) Hamilton kept his foot on the throttle even though he was closing in very rapidly 5) Hamilton is unable to find a path around Alonso proceeds to drive up the rear of him because of the differing corner exit speeds from the previous corner Hamilton's fault Of course the Hamilton fans will come up with crazed conspiracy theories but Alonso done nothing wrong http://www1.picturepush.com/photo/a/543329/img/543329.gif
  19. Its the responsibility of the driver behind not to be too close If that had occured on the M25 it would be Hamilton losing his no claims I blame Hamilton for being too close same as I blamed Schumi for Spa 98 and Monaco with Montoya
  20. he didnt miss a corner and go straight on it was a tactical move to turn left, he should have just stayed on the track and if he 22nd at the end there thats just tough, the rules are if you gain places on track by cutting off the track then you have to let them through again so Hamilton should have done that I doubt Alonso did that deliberately as his car is damaged too, Lewis just got too close
  21. Another piece of cheating from Hamilton  Cut right across a run off area and made up several places after his incident with Alonso, turned sharp left and went right across run off back onto the track causing Button to spin, cheat cheat cheat Good on Alonso :yahoo: :w00t:
  22. It should make no difference to his job If your hero Ron Dennis is found to have had an affair and this caused the break up of his marriage should he resign from McLaren given the witchunt against Mosley ? Again what Mosley does in his own private life is his own personal business so long as it is legal activity and BDSM is legal so he has no case to answer If as is said the whores were ordered to get nazi uniforms then I am guessing they sent David Blunkett out to do the shopping as there is not even the remotest connection to a nazi uniform, where are the swastikas or the eagle crests ? hell even Prince Harry managed to hire a proper nazi costume  so despite the lead prossie being on the game for years she has no idea where to get a nazi uniform ? her credibility is shot to pieces, this was just plain old prisoner / guard domination and submission the same sorta thing that is practiced in homes right across the country (3m partake in BDSM 1 in 8 of the adult population), I am not going to debate the rights and wrongs of BDSM but it is a widespread practice And if Max Mosley resigns then Jean Todt (linked for years with Ferrari your biggest rivals) will almost certainly take over from him so if you think Mosley is hard on McCheaters wait till you see Todt  as the saying goes "be careful what you wish for you might just get it" ;)

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/7332960.stm Ben-Hur star Charlton Heston dies Heston won an Oscar for his starring role in Ben Hur Clips from his films Charlton Heston, who won a best actor Oscar for his starring role in the epic Ben-Hur has died aged 84, a spokesman for the star's family has said. Heston died on Saturday at his home in Beverly Hills. His wife Lydia, whom he married in 1944, was at his side. Heston also portrayed Michelangelo, El Cid and other heroic figures in movie epics of the 1950s and 1960s. He stepped down as president of US gun lobby, the National Rifle Association (NRA), in 2003, citing ill-health. The previous year, he had revealed he had symptoms consistent with Alzheimer's disease. Defining roles Heston was born John Charles Carter in Evanston, Illinois. No man could have given more to his family, to his profession, and to his country Charlton Heston family's statement Obituary: Charlton Heston Your tributes In pictures: Life of epic star He studied acting before serving for three years in the US Air Force. But back in civilian life, Heston went through hard times, while waiting for his first break. In 1952, after working on Broadway, Heston starred as the ringmaster in the movie The Greatest Show on Earth. Four years later, he appeared as Moses in The Ten Commandments, one of the roles which would define his career. After the success of the science fiction film Planet of the Apes in the late 1960s, Heston turned his attention to working in the theatre. 'Larger than life' Although later identified with traditionally conservative causes, Charlton Heston had been a vocal supporter of Martin Luther King and the 1960s Civil Rights movement. He also served as president of the Screen Actors Guild and was chairman of the American Film Institute. In a statement, his family said: "To his loving friends, colleagues and fans, we appreciate your heartfelt prayers and support. "Charlton Heston was seen by the world as larger than life. "No one could ask for a fuller life than his. No man could have given more to his family, to his profession, and to his country. "In his own words, 'I have lived such a wonderful life. I've lived enough for two people'." Heston's family said a private memorial service would be held. I guess they have finally prised the rifle from his cold dead hands ;) Outstanding actor who made a great contribution in his professional work but as a man I shed no tears for him whatsoever given his NRA work and his behaviour after the Columbine massacre
  24. Sometimes less pleasant things have to be done in politics for "the greater good" I personally think sanctions are an utter waste of time, did sanctions affect Saddam Hussein ? made no difference at all but ordinary Iraqis beared the brunt of the sanctions with a massive suffering with shortages of food and medicine while Saddam Hussein was living in palaces with plentiful supplies of luxury foods, sanctions against Iraq killed tens and thousands of ordinary Iraqis so what good were sanctions there ? Same with South Africa, sanctions personally hurt Botha ? hell they did all they did was hurt ordinary South Africans so sanctions were a complete waste of time I am also against arms embargos and all the rest too, that leads to ordinary South Africans being put out of work, has no effect on Botha whatsoever so if Maggie was against sanctions on South African then good on her She put massive political pressure on South Africa to release Mandela and thanks to Maggie and others he was released, Mandela thanked Maggie as one of those who got him released. Sanctions ain't the way, political pressure is the way Just because other countries wanted to be sheep and follow each other imposing sanctions which cause nothing but misery to ordinary South Africans then good on Maggie for bypassing that
  25. Congrats to Kubica, hope Kimi and Massa are heavier and pass Kubica and keep Hamilton at bay, Kubica must be ultra light given Heidi is 5 places back Hitler presided over Oswald's wedding not Max's, people should not be judged by the actions of their parents nor should parents be judged by the actions of their kids I adore Maggie Thatcher but despise that lowlife scum son of her's Mark for instance
