  1. We are 3-5 years away from being championship contenders unless an Abramovich type figure buys out Levy and splashes out on Kaka and Messi, I am not expecting us to be fighting for the title come May, well maybe May 2011 Ramos>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Jol and Jol got 2 lots of 5th place and was a lasagne away from 4th
  2. The same Arshavin that was the main reason why Zenit won the UEFA Cup last season The same Arshavin that was probably the biggest star of Euro 2008 bar maybe David Villa ANY player from overseas is a risk but Arshavin is proved on the European stage both at domestic and international level
  3. I was talking UEFA Cup btw :)
  4. With so many new players having to gel in 2008 my expectations are that we will get probably 7th next season and maybe win a cup, having as many as 7 new players gelling will take time so I am expecting a poor first 1/3 of the season but I fully believe season after next we will qualify for the CL
  5. I am so confident that we will make the CL inside 3 years that I am prepared to bet with you the sum of £100 on the fact we do, up for it ? there are enough witnesses in this thread to prove I offered £100 wager on Spurs not making CL, up for it ?
  6. True there but I think with the extra money that we will up our wage policy to try and attract the top players A lot of players for instance such as David Villa don't have many if any major teams with a vacancy to acccomodate him so us offering massive wages would be a good option, not saying we will get Villa but he was just an example
  7. Hutton is out for 2-3 months with ankle ligament damage so Gunter will be the RB for the first part of the season
  8. £50m transfer fund at start of summer £18.9, 4.5, 9m spent £17.6m left £19m for Keane, 9m for Chimbo and Teemu £45m left in the kitty before sale of Berbs Right now we are probably the most cash rich team in Europe in terms of available funds, money talks in football !
  9. http://www.tottenhamhotspur.com/news/artic...oliverpool.html The Club can announce that it has reached agreement with Liverpool FC for the transfer of Robbie Keane. Speaking on the announcement of the transfer, Chairman Daniel Levy said: "I was incredibly disappointed when I first heard, not only that Liverpool had been working behind the scenes to bring Robbie to Anfield, but that Robbie himself wanted to go and he submitted a transfer request to this effect. "I have already made my opinion clear on the nature of this transaction. I don't regard it as a transfer deal - that is something which happens between two clubs when they both agree to trade - this is very much an enforced sale, for which we have agreed a sum of £19m as compensation plus a potential further £1.3m in additional compensation." Liverpool FC has also acknowledged that the way its website reported comments of its manager, which were widely covered by the media, was inappropriate and in light of that acknowledgement has apologised and agreed to make a donation to our Club's main charity, the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation. Tottenham Hotspur has therefore agreed not to pursue its official complaint to the Premier League.
  10. GK - Gomes RB - Hutton LB - Bale CB - King CB - Woodgate CM - tbc (we have bid 15.9m for Veloso according to a Spurs ITK) LM - Dos Santos RM - Bentley AM - Modric AM - Arshavin (not signed yet but ITK reports tonight say he has agreed terms) CF - Pavluychenko/Milito That team would be seriously challenging for 3rd or 4th
  11. Ferrari and Kimi have been doing a lot of work at the factory the last couple of days and Kimi is confident they have found the solution to the recent slowness of the Ferrari so hopefully these improvements will be apparent at Hungary
  12. Last season despite having a midfield packed with the likes of Hudd, Zokora, Malbranque, Tianio, Jenas, Gilberto we were if I recall correctly the 3rd highest scorers in the Premiership With Modric and Dos Santos having arrived, Bale fit again, Bentley on the verge of signing, Arshavin on his way if the rumours tonight are true, we will be a much stronger attacking force next season
  13. hmmmmmmm the owner clears off to Spain hours before the fire, the owner is the MD of an insurance company As far as i am concerned I think this is an insurance job so he could claim the money back off insurance company
  14. There was a case of a woman only last year who after years of physical, mental and sexual abuse at the hands of her husband snapped and killed him, she was charged with MURDER and jailed for life, that is unjust that she should get the same sentence as Mark Dixie :manson: who lay in wait outside a girls house and killed her Then there is Tony Martin, after being harassed and tormented for ages by burglars he finally snapped and killed a burglar, merely doing what any householder would have done under the circumstances yet the guy got charged with murder Those are 2 examples of cases where at best manslaughter charges should have been bought given the provocation and where the killer does not pose a threat to the general public
  15. I think there should be a 2 strikes and you are out system in terms of the NHS Someone who drinks themselves into oblivion once should be treated on the NHS, accidents happen, drink can be spiked or whatever, if they ever do it again after that in the future then they pay the full cost of their treatment or don't get treated
  16. Seems a sensible move to me Someone who catches their wife in bed with the milkman after returning home from a nightshift and batters the milkman to death with a bedroom lamp or someone who kills a burglar or a wife that kills her husband after domestic violence for instance shouldn't be treated the same as a child killer or the guy that killed those whores in Ipswich or the killer of Sally Ann Bowman I think 1st degree murder - premeditated should carry an AUTOMATIC life without prospect of parole tariff 2nd degree killers such as the type I listed above like the killer of a burglar are not a threat to the public so after they have served a few years can be rehabillitated into society
  17. You know and I know that OWF will be tapping up Modric within 1 year or absolute max 2
  18. Top 2 are untouchable atm, but I don't think the gulf between Arsenal / Liverpool and us is that big Arsenal will badly miss Hleb, he was one of their big creative forces and much depends on Adebayor's attitude after he was denied his dream move I would say us and Liverpool are quite evenly matched on paper too with the exception of Torres and of course Gerrard, Torres was amazing last season but if he has a not quite as good season in 2008 or gets injured or something then I really don't think the gulf to us is that big 1. Gomes 2. Hutton 3. Bale 4. King 5. Woodgate 6. Jenas 7. Dos Santos 8. Modric 9. Berbatov / Replacement 10. Keane / Replacement 11. Lennon / Bentley (very close to signing) That is a decent line up if they are all fit and if you match that up on paper with Liverpool and Arsenal the gulf ain't that big mate
  19. Jol got us within 1 lasagne of the top 4 and Ramos is a much better manager than Jol Jol got us 2 lots of 5th place Last season doesn't count You clearly under estimate Modric, you could not have watched Euro 2008 very well as you will see Modric really got stuck in with tackles and tracking back as well as his attacking play, he may not have Arnie type muscle but he can more than hold his own in the tackle I predict he will be in the Premiership team of the season next year
  20. He was offered more by Newcastle than he was by us
  21. hmmmmmmm Gianfranco Zola was a major flop wasn't he  As was Ossie Ardiles as was Juninho
  22. Oasis Loved the first 2 albums, the albums following Morning Glory have been utter $h!te But Oasis are not really retro
  23. I liked very little of Lennon's solo work, even Imagine for me is one of the most grossly overated songs of all time, really have no idea why it has the status that it has George Harrison for me is the only Beatle who I have loved as a solo artist
  24. Loved this song Shame Gwen Stefani has bought out so much $h!t as a solo artist
  25. If Churchill was such a great PM aside from being a wartime leader why was he voted out of office ? Maggie never lost a single election
