I thought Snatch Game was dreadful and highlighted why this series isn’t going to work with no eliminations. Vanjie, Plastique and Jorgeous barely even tried? And we wound up with half of the characters not even being real and just imaginations of what they’d be. Which is what Snatch Game has sadly become.

She’s definitely going to go all out pop with this, which I think is probably the right way to play this. People won’t want serious or intellectual from Katy, she’s your straight up, simple, pop girl and songs like Espresso smashing at current are proof that there’s very much still an appetite for cute summery bops.

I must admit, as much as I am an open and honest cheap hoe, I didn’t realise Mette was that cheap either until reading this thread? I don’t think it’s such a bad thing for Dua to open herself up to other genres right now. Obviously she’s had hits before with DJ’s but I don’t think it can harm to warm her name up to Adult Contemporary crowds and the likes.

I think you’d really struggle to get anyone of note to sign up for that right now. The UK has a unique problem that, in every other country, to promote yourself via a national final is unbeatable promotion, money can’t buy. And if it winds up being the peak of your career - no issue. Here, no artist starting to make moves in their career wants to come 3rd in a selection to decide who represents the UK at Eurovision. You think Rina Sawayama is fighting it through heats to see if she gets to Eurovision etc? That’s why we end up with failed X Factor early-outs and what not, because it’s all they have, but they’re nowhere near the calibre we need. It does make it difficult for us because the British public are just so judgemental. God knows this position will probably be held over Olly Alexander for years, whilst we saw how Benjamin Ingrosso is now one of Sweden’s biggest stars despite not doing great by Sweden’s standards. Basically we’re just a shit negative country that makes it difficult for our artists xx
