I was stunned by this album. I love all her vocal acrobatics and just her general tone is gorgeous. Also agree with the Imogen comparison! Wouldn't be surprised if this ended up my favourite album of the year.

Quite a few artists I recognize but don't know almost any of the songs. As for mine, you could say Deandria is having a mid-life crisis for her 50th anniversary but it's a total racket banger tbh ha.

That's nothing to feel odd about! The thread on the years of entries did reveal that there's a huge preference for 2010s songs overall (which is understandable) but there's been plenty of older ones, for me it's just about sending something you currently like and want to share.

Confirmed my 50th entry. Because it happens to fall around Halloween, I'm just having fun with it tbh and channeling my inner... something. You'll see :')

Loving the three songs so far! Listened to them all on repeat the other day. Such chilled dancey-ness. The EP thing on Spotify has two versions of each - a longer version and a shorter 'edit' version. This year just keeps on giving with new albums by artists I like haha. Although I find it incredible how apparently people (not just you, Lewis) couldn't definitely figure out it was Dido on vocals, her voice is so distinctive :lol:

haha yeah when going through mine, I did realise that my latest entry was a remake of a traditional Afghan folk song (so presumably older :P) but I just counted the actual entry. Cool that you have quite a few like that though! Also apparently Hooverphonic - Mad About You was recorded in 1999 but released in 2000 so I put that in the 00s pile haha. For some reason I'm really surprised I've only got one from the 90s!

Totally up to you how you lay out this geekery but it might be cool to see. Any interesting patterns? I would love to list all my entries and the exact year of each but that would involve quite a bit of looking up and I cba at the moment lol. So for now I went with decades: 1990s - 1 entry 2000s - 19 entries 2010s - 29 entries I need to up my 90s game (and maybe throw in a bit of 50s x). I had a period where I mostly sent 00s songs, followed by the long period I'm in now where I've mostly sent 10s songs, with a few exceptions being 00s (mind.in.a.box, Yoko Kanno etc.) The longest run of entries from the same decade was when I sent 17 entries from 2010s in a row, from Tzlil in BJSC 85 to Lusine in BJSC 105. My oldest entry is Massive Attack - Unfinished Sympathy (1991).

My next entry is my 50th (only 11 years after my debut! :P) but the fact that it's around Halloween kinda threw my plans off haha because I have a right racket of a song that I wanted to enter to the Halloween spin-off but a little birdie told me that's probably not happening this year so I'll probably end up entering it to the regular contest instead :lol:

Random observation lawl As many as 4 of our semi points were exactly the same - 10 Summericia, 6 Quintessa, 2 Wholune, 1 Séyetana. I believe I also noticed having the same 3 or 4 with someone in the final but yeah, #unimportantfacts but just caught my eye. (I approve of that 12 too tho, thank you B-))
