Bat For Lashes - Lost Girls
Out in exactly two weeks! This is so gonna be her 80s cinematic album and I'm here for it. She "has cited 1980s music and cinema as an inspiration for the record, citing artists such as Bananarama, Cindy Lauper, The Blue Nile and film composer John Williams in an interview." It's also going to be a pretty short album (which I actually like lately), at about 38 minutes. Track listing is also out lolz 1. Kids in the Dark 2. The Hunger 3. Feel For You 4. Desert Man 5. Jasmine 6. Vampires 7. So Good 8. Safe Tonight 9. Peach Sky 10. Mountains

Ooh yay. I'm really endeared by the band Flunk, been listening to them for a long time, although I don't know this song v well. Thylacine is another familiar name, I've liked what I've heard from them. Again, I don't think I know this song tho.

Voted. Wasn't the easiest contest to rank, there's so much stuff I like here. My top 7 or so are especially good for me tho.

The Monster Preference Selector
Your results: 1. So Happy I Could Die 2. Dance In The Dark 3. Bad Romance 4. Alejandro 5. Monster 6. Speechless 7. Telephone 8. Teeth I'm not sure how I'd really rank them but this looks fairly plausible actually :') I do like 'Teeth' as well and 'So Happy I Could Die' is definitely my personal favourite.

Plug would be nice, would be a good refresher for me and I'll probably vote after that. I finished my first listen today and I love this edition

ARTPOP's lead vs. Joanne's lead
'Applause' for me. When I first listened to it, I honestly thought wtf, is that it? lmao. But sometime after that it just became this exhilarating listen. It does kinda feel like a sort of tongue-in-cheek moment though. And of course I must not forget it inspired that parody of Gaga that had me rolling on the floor for days. I can't really remember it now, it was probably really stupid but yeah. 'Perfect Illusion' never really connected or came together for me I'm afraid.

Taahino's song lives up to the name btw. Striking title, striking song! It sounds like it would fit almost perfectly on M.I.A.'s debut album.- ππ VOTING: Worldvision IV
I know it's a bit off-topic but this sounds like a fun family activity tbh! When I was a kid, we had these cards with all the countries' flags on them and we'd play a guessing game and eventually I remembered all the European flags and a lot of the non-European flags too. I'd struggle a bit more now :(- Bjork - Utopia
This rather interesting new video for 'Losss' has been released. I think it has been used as a backdrop for her Cornucopia tour as well, which, *deep breath* I will be going to in Dublin in November if all goes well omg. It shall be my second time seeing BjΓΆrk. I like the video but this version of the song sounds harder to digest to me than what it is on the album. It's not that it has been cut down by two minutes (it was a pretty long song) but it sounds quite different to me? Maybe it's my headphones :P tIWhpI_unCo "we based the visuals on the conversations between our inner optimist and pessimist , when i recorded this i tried to sing in a deeper tone for one of them in the left speaker and a higher optimist in the right . and if you listen on headphones it will match the imagery" - this is interesting!- ππ VOTING: Worldvision IV
Thanks! I was lowkey worried about the emojis lmao, I thought they were broken forever once they're broken. Didn't know a full edit prevents that. I think it's right to change them but I remember I really liked both 'Visele' and 'PreGomesh' <3- ππ VOTING: Worldvision IV
I'm loving the song titles of 'MultivitamΔ«nu multipaka' and 'Queen of Failureland' lmao. Also just a minor correction, prolly just a typo, my artists are Cholita Sound X King Doudou. I'm not sure if I know this particular song, but I remember being quite endeared by Anima Sound System when I was hunting for a Hungarian song for the 2nd edition of this! So I approve of this artist choice. ^_^ I remember a song called 'Tekerd' was really cool and kinda unusual haha.- Is 'Fashion!' secretly a total MOMENT?
Yeah, I was talking about the ARTPOP one! (also I'm sorry about my impulsive reaction in this thread, a sensitive spot was hit for a min but it's cool now)- Is 'Fashion!' secretly a total MOMENT?
While you're at it, you can just close the thread lmao. #notsociallyacceptable- Is 'Fashion!' secretly a total MOMENT?
I'm already a bit of a misfit, so I'm just going to express which songs I like π- Is 'Fashion!' secretly a total MOMENT?
oh my! If no one except me votes 'yes' I'll be very sad :')- Is 'Fashion!' secretly a total MOMENT?
Similarly to my other thread about 'Joanne', I feel like 'Fashion!' isn't rly praised on here? Personally I lovvve it. There's something wonderful about it for me, from the piano intro to the bubbling bass (wtf... sounds good tho) to the various moments in the vocal line... what do u think?- Is 'Joanne' a really good song?
omg I'm creating a thread in Gaga again. π· I'm not the best at remembering 'trends' about song opinions on here but I think I remember getting a feeling that 'Joanne' is not really that well liked on here? I'm talking about the album version with guitars btw, because I'm not sure I'm too familiar with the piano version lool. It's kinda like the only song on that album I keep going back to (I did quite like the album tho). Personally I have a soft spot for it. Do you? :o- Is Judas Steps-lite cheese?
Yeah the chorus is definitely my least favourite part haha, but I still don't particularly dislike the chorus either.- Is Judas Steps-lite cheese?
No x I remember thinking when 'Judas' first came on my radar, that it was really cool. I guess it still is, I just can't remember the last time I listened to it π- Has Paparazzi aged badly?
Steps-lite cheese xo Nah, voted no. I don't listen to it much anymore (I just listen to Gaga less now anyway oops, come @ me) but I don't tend to think of songs as 'aging badly' or 'aging well', even if I sometimes might agree with those sentiments when others say it. Even if I did, I would never think that about 'Paparazzi' I think! - ππ VOTING: Worldvision IV
