  1. Voted... In general I got more of a chill vibe from this bunch of entries which was a nice touch tbh. Obviously there were some banger-style things too, and the occasional hot mess :kink: My entry isn't even my favourite song in this edition, I like several others more.

I wasn't going to enter this one but whaddoIknow xo. What I've confirmed has been compared to Janet Jackson and it has very vibey vibes, I'm liking it a lot at the moment :D I noticed a small handful of you have scrobbled the artist on last.fm and a couple have scrobbled this particular song, let's see if that translates to points.

I've been loving it ever since I first heard it too! Satisfyingly spooky :P I'm yet to let the whole album sink in but it's definitely promising.
  4. 'Thriller' is my fav out of these two but neither song would be in my own personal top 2. 'Dirty Diana' is my favourite MJ song. As a kid I was really averse to his music for some reason but I remember having a cassette with that song on it and I kept rewinding it to play it loads of times in a row haha! So I decided to check out the whole Bad album and it went from there. 'Man in the Mirror' would probably complete my top 2 but don't quote me on that cos it might change :kink: These polls have reminded me just how much I actually like his songs!

I really like this, although I've only had two listens so far. It made me want to go down a bit of a Thom Yorke / Radiohead journey, so I've listened to The Eraser today after a good while (I adore that album), as well as having what I believe was my first ever listen of Tomorrow's Modern Boxes (not sure why I never tried that b4). Also on the listening list: Radiohead's The King of Limbs, cos I've only listened to that a handful of times and remember nothing πŸ˜…

Congrats Addy! :cheer: That always had a bit of a winner feel to it. Not far off my points either, my list has it in the 11th slot in fact. Thanks Lindsey!

I'm quite surprised AURORA isn't top 3! I think BΓΈtanikkΓ€ probably have it now.

Kelela not in top 10 :o Smooth banger!

Wow, that's quite a few voters for Lizette Lizette there and position's pretty good, thanks! Dobago was one that was very close to getting points from me actually.

Surprised about Greenfroze being so low! :o Fun entry.

IZfCj7tuZ-E This just kinda fell into my lap, released yesterday! It's out now on download and streaming, CD and vinyl will follow on 19 July. I really like most things he's been involved with, this is his third solo album (fourth if you include Suspiria, the soundtrack album I haven't listened to in full oops). Really intrigued by this! Anima comprises electronic music with "layers of electronic fuzz and deconstructed noise". Yorke said the themes include anxiety and dystopia: "For some reason I thought a really good way of expressing anxiety creatively was in a dystopian environment." 1. Traffic 2. Last I Heard (...He Was Circling the Drain) 3. Twist 4. Dawn Chorus 5. I Am a Very Rude Person 6. Not the News 7. The Axe 8. Impossible Knots 9. Runwayaway
  12. I may have a warped way of seeing things and I do use the terms occasionally but I have a slight aversion to 'underrated' and 'overrated' just cos to me they mean something like 'a large amount of people like this song but I don't so I'm in the minority and that sucks' or vice versa. I guess it's just personal opinion tho, I won't look too much into it :kink: The first song I can think of that I proper like and that doesn't seem to get much attention / love is 'Fashion!'. From the piano intro to the bassline, to the 'cos your new look's ethereaaaaaal', I really like it. I feel like something quite special was captured in that song. ^_^
  13. This is wonderful! Thank you for posting it!

Voted earlier btw (using original country names, ha).
  15. Possibly :P Would be a good chance for me to try out my melt-on-your-tongue Rescue Remedy capsules! Jokes.

Imagine if we all had Pride-related country names here like the Halloween contests  The only ones I could come up with right now were GΓ©yetana and Gayandria :P edit: Gaydakissnia. Okay I can stop doing this now, although don't be surprised if I do this in my votes.
  17. Sorry to hear that Freeze! Can you consider it at all? So I guess hosting might fall onto me then. πŸ™ƒ Since it gets passed to the highest-placing person who has never hosted before (I passed it on too when I won). Eep. I don't know if I can either as I'll be spending a lot of time with my sister who I haven't seen in two years but maybe it's doable... Wasn't expecting this! I won't even have an AQ, right?
  18. Thanks duck for hosting btw, hope you're enjoying your nap etc :P A song called 'Letyat Utki (Ducks Are Flying) - Folk Version' started playing for me right now and I thought it was funny given this duck-referenced contest was going on. idk πŸ™ƒ 3rd is a unique position for me and my 2nd best result in the regular contest, thanks voters.
  19. Congrats Freeze! That was my 4 pointer so I'm pretty happy with that. I also need a long nap now :P
  20. I have a lot of weird emotions
  21. Thanks Jade for the 18 (and everyone else who has voted mind.in.a.box ofc!) - that's indeed (at least) the third 18 from you, after 'Alchemy' and 'Ankara'. Don't think there were any others. Up with the one-word song titles I guess...?
  22. You're welcome Jade / Leo! Beautiful entries, the two of them  and Rollo, sorry! Did I leave someone else out? gaah
  23. I don't generally mind if songs fade out. Sometimes I don't really like it but there are instances where it actually adds to the emotional impact for me. Alanis Morissette's 'Thank U' is a good example, with her wailing emotionally until the song fades out. Goosebumps.
  24. Well that's... pretty new (altho yeah just checked and 'Sanctuary' was top of the odds at least once as well)
  25. Chez is the biggest babe of the seet. Seriously all this hype both here and on plug is appreciated, when I first discovered 'Change', I didn't think it would go down this well, maybe cos it's basically a robot chanting philosophical words πŸ™ƒ
