Electronic band Ladytron released their new, self-titled album earlier this month. They've described it as "a lot heavier than Gravity the Seducer ... the atmospheres are there, but there's more urgency underneath", which immediately makes me think of albums like Witching Hour and Velocifero, both of which I loved! They're still kind of a special band for me as they were my first BJSC entry. It seems to be getting rather good reviews, although ofc that's to be taken with a pinch of salt. Pitchfork described the album as "an angry, pitiless, evil-sounding record whose nihilism presents them as sirens of the apocalypse" :o Songs: 1. Until The Fire 2. The Island 3. Tower of Glass 4. Oh Morrissey... He's one of those artists who I used to listen to a lot but nowadays it's quite rare, maybe because I probably know a lot more music now, haha. Just don't have time to listen to everything!!1 I did enjoy his last 2 albums the handful of times I listened to those. I'm intrigued by the Joni Mitchell cover, even tho I can't remember what that song's like (I have listened to the album it's on tho, The Hissing of Summer Lawns).

Yeah I think this will do rather splendidly. I actually already knew it, it's more my kinda pop.

I haven't heard this semi (sorry for mysteriously disappearing on plug) but just a point of observation - is it just me or does Altyr nearly always get one of the most muted reactions? I could swear it's nearly always 1 or 2 woots and maybe 1 or 2 mehs. lol

I always do check out what's going on in the other semi's thread as well (even if I still tend to not always listen to the opposite semi's songs :kink: with a few exceptions)

I mean I don't know - I haven't rly thought about it tbh, do you know who's playing or anything, or is it too soon? I still have the yearly Eden Project pass but I haven't come back yet :kink: (I didn't go to Massive Attack btw, for several reasons rly, first time I have ever missed a concert but looking on Twitter etc, so many people seemed unhappy with the gig :o Apparently there was 'too much' political imagery and the whole thing seemed kinda stale to a lot of people)

This is what I like to see, sending something that excites you, even if "different", combined with being curious how others take to it. Skimming through with my shitty laptop speakers at the moment, this sounds epic, even beyond the growling (which is probably actually my least favourite part oops, although I'm not at all opposed to it in general)! Obviously I'll need a full listen tho. (Did Japanese Breakfast Q btw? Apparently I have a short gig of hers bookmarked in my 'watch later' playlist... I must've stumbled upon her and been intrigued :D)

I was wondering if maybe you just got so excited about this Pornhub connection that you had to tell both semis :P (just wondering btw, do people who aren't me prefer if the semis are in separate threads or the same thread? Personally I've always preferred them to be in the same thread just cos it feels like it's 'easier' to keep up with both semis, of course BridgeCow I still like you and you're a great host :D)

Hello, we are back for BJSC 112 after a refreshing break! Looking forward to getting stuck into the songs and the voting process soon. BJSC 112 I admit, it is fancy on a pedestal but I can't always stand straight sometimes I fall Cotz-B1-4BI What can I say about this entry? Well, previously I have described it as "somewhat uncool" in its sound / feel (not necessarily a bad thing of course, I really like the song). I also described it as something that might've been entered in 2012, as well as being similar to what we might expect from a Dalisska entry (a country that no longer enters). In addition, I also described it as one of my DNQ entries 'Moonland' mixed with the drum beat of my only BJSC winner 'Sanctuary', something that I only noticed very recently (I've known the song for a few months now). Personally I find the song very charming and lyrically quite moving and I enjoy the catchy beat and vocal line. I also find the name of the band somewhat amusing and cute. Fingers crossed that it connects with some of you. We have been drawn into the last slot in semi 2, interestingly enough!

Closing the show :o Interesting. I know quite a few artists here! Ambienta with another cool electronic artist - Boards of Canada are super chill but I don't know this particular track so I'm looking forward to hearing it.

I'm ready to come 29th in either the semi or the final. 😘
