I wasn't quite sure where to put this but it seems fair enough to ask here. I'm really quite curious about this. A couple of days ago, I wanted to check something in the Lounge quickly without bothering to log in, but the Lounge had "disappeared" from view. To be honest, I thought it was hilarious at first cos I thought maybe the whole Lounge had disappeared oops, but then when I logged in, it was there. It's been like that ever since on both my laptop and phone. Just wondering... Maybe it has already been explained somewhere, my apologies if it has.

Voted at this ridiculous hour. I have to say, the semi kept me entertained through these late night hours, it was one of the more interesting semis. Some really cool electronic vibes and some pretty unique gems <3

BJSC 107 Lk3Gak8EOOk For BJSC 107, after a short break, Deandria is back with Yoko Kanno - Cyberbird. You may also see this labelled as Gabriela Robin - Cyber Bird :magic: Yoko Kanno is a Japanese composer, best known for her work on soundtracks for anime films, live-action films, television series, video games and advertisements. It appears that when she uses her own vocals on one of her tracks, she goes by the additional name of Gabriela Robin. This beautiful track, which I've known for at least two years, is a 6-minute emotional epic that frankly I feel goes by too quick. Containing extremely frantic, chaotic and energetic drumming, combined with some lush strings and atmospheric vocals, it's paired here with a very cool video depicting someone driving through the streets of Japan. I don't think this is an official video, but I wouldn't want it paired with any other visual tbh. The whole thing is an experience. Deandria previously entered Yoko Kanno with a collaboration with Aoi Teshima, a song called 'Because', which we sent to the movies spin-off. We didn't have much success with that song but this feels like a completely different beast. Powerful, emotional, sonically interesting and lush, it will sneak under your skin and won't leave your head.

Wow, the presentation is so beautiful, I feel like I'm at Eden Project again :heehee: You may remember but I listened to it during that contest! Yeah I was confused at that myself after I saw the song under 'Gabriela Robin' on iTunes but I think Yoko uses that name when she sings on one of her compositions! Another smaller and more insignificant confusion is that sometimes it's tagged as 'Cyber Bird', two words, which for the more precise of us may be slightly annoying but I think I saw it as one word more often and to me that's nicer :P

I almost gave it 12 but it didn't quite make it cos the Squarepusher track hit me a bit more at the time and I felt it was very special. Thanks for your debut entry! ^_^

JTTwlAT_AwU I wanted to make a topic specifically on this and ask about your first BJSC entry. Firstly of course, what was it and do you think it represents what your country has done afterwards? Were you one of the people who started off performing weakly but then improved? My first entry was the above Ladytron - Destroy Everything You Touch from their 2005 album Witching Hour. The song is super catchy electropop / synthpop with haunting vocals, a style not too far from what I would sometimes send in future. I had just gotten heavily into Ladytron at the time but sending it was an impulsive decision, I don't think I really thought much about it. It worked with the people tho as it came a surprising 4th place in BJSC 11 (:mellow:). While capturing certain areas of my taste well, it was not an indication of what was to come in terms of performance, as I ended up mostly flopping for ages after that :kink: Well, either flopping or doing sort of okay, until my win. What about you?
