I happen to be your host because I won the last contest with the beautiful and epic Worakls – Elea and you must not underestimate my enjoyment of quite a fair amount of dance music! :P If you were to look through the Club Bizarre archives, you would find that we’ve had Trance, we’ve had Eurodance and we’ve had House. In this edition, I ask anyone who’s interested (hopefully that means YOU x) to find an entry that fits under drum and bass, also known as drum & bass, drum n bass or DnB, among others ;) I and the hard-working dance mods Dan and lewistgreen (shout-out also to Dobbo, who has since left the position but was fine with the theme) felt that this theme is wide-ranging enough to house (throwback to the previous edition there, heh) its own contest and there is room for variety. RULES & GUIDELINES: - Your song must fit into the genre of drum n bass, or a significantly related subgenre* - We are ideally looking for discoveries! Your song should not be generally well-known to Buzzjack, so please don’t send a big chart hit or anything that has been sent to a previous song contest on the forum. Useful links: BJSC entries / Unknown Pleasures entries (I doubt you’ll need links for any of the other contests since they don’t really cater for drum n bass) - This is an anonymous contest so no revealing of what you’ve sent! I will do that in the results show. - It’s first come first served so if several people confirm the same artist, the one whose confirmation was made earlier gets in with that artist. *You may be unsure what this means. To make it slightly less restrictive, it would probably be okay to enter jungle or drill n bass or other styles which are similar enough to drum n bass. If you’re not sure whether your potential entry fits, the best thing would be to confirm it and if it is deemed unsuitable, we will just ask you to replace. Just don’t veer too far away from drum n bass :P I encourage anyone to enter, even if you’ve never entered this before. To do so, kindly fill in this Google Form. This is a new way of doing things for this particular contest but it should speed things up a bit. You will need a Google account. I've only listened to the first half so far but I was getting ready to say that whoever sent Say Lou Lou may just have a winner on their hands! That was gonna be my prediction unless something even more winner-y came along in the second half ^_^

Based on these descriptions, I am an existentialist! I can see bits of myself in the others but that one definitely sticks out as fitting me.

:hi: I've been planning to start vol. 4 in early to mid-July (after I get back from a little trip). I was thinking I could potentially start it earlier but Nuggets and PFSC have now started as well so it would probably make more sense to work around those somehow :P

Well tbh that may have changed by now, the song you send cannot have been a hit (in the UK top 75 singles or album chart) but I'm not exactly sure about other songs by the same artist! We're probably gonna have to stop discussing another genre forum's song contest in here :kink:

Yes! :D In the words of (one of) the creator(s): Be it acoustic, experimental, any of the multifarious metal sub-genres, or some undiscovered world music. As long as its main instrument is guitar and as long as they've never had a hit in the UK then they're in. There will be no restriction on gender of vocalist or length of track.

I feel like this theme is fairly broad, I also do like that Bré specifically made a point to say in the OP that it's not a restrictive theme and pretty much anything that even remotely fits, fits :P haha... for want of a better way of putting it. Then again, I don't know everything about your taste so what may seem like an easy, broad theme to me may not seem that way for others. I think a variety of things that are electronic-y and poppy would work here! Nuggets theme = features a (lead) guitar and no cheap hoe :P

You can send multiple photos at once on Messenger too tho? After a bit of resistance, I now use WhatsApp occasionally to chat. I don't know if I prefer that or Messenger, although I'd sorta love to be one of those people who doesn't use FB (I've already deactivated my News Feed... I can still view people's content on their pages though if I want) and obviously Messenger is related to that, but that being said, I guess it's okay to keep one part of FB active (Messenger, that is) and also, I don't mind signing into other websites or apps using FB.
