Truly baffled that there isn't a topic for the best album of 2011. 'Llove', 'Turn It Down', 'Room for Happiness', 'How Long', and 'Let Me Go' are all easily 11/10 moments for me. I listen to them all on a daily basis, this really is a gem and a must-listen.
  2. 15. You da One - Rihanna

 16. Sexy and I Know It - LMFAO

 Rih should overtake Olly Murs quite soon I'd imagine. Get that smash Rih!

I must also say, 'Love on Top' is truly an AWFUL OTT-repetitive song. Beyonce's vocals on it grates my ears so harshly that I'd go as far as saying it's unlistenable. Its popularity is truly bizarre.

  3. I hope they don't rush into this release. 'We Found Love' is only starting to die down now, and I think or should I say, hope, that 'You da One' can capitalise at last and get a decent peak position. I really adore 'You da One', it's easily the cutest Rih song ever  The music video is criminally underrated as well.
  4. The performance was decent enough. The song is extremely auto-tuned so you really couldn't expect it to be that spectacular vocally, could you? She really can sing live IMO, I remember a performance of 'Broken Arrow' which completely blew me away.

I hope she goes with 'We Just Go On' as a single at some point, it really is the vocal goosebump moment on the album and my favourite ballad by her overall after the shamefully underrated 'My Love'.

  5. I think TTT is a great single choice strategically but Rihanna has a habit of not releasing the obvious singles from her albums ala 'Breakin' Dishes' and 'Fire Bomb', and I have this bad feeling 'Where Have You Been' will be this era's victim. I'm not the biggest fan of the single mix idea, it's going to end up sounding like 'Love the Way You Lie'/'Run This Town' (a rapper featuring Rihanna song). Jay-Z already hogs like a whole a minute of the 'Talk That Talk' and then Kanye West will most likely cut out Rih's song-selling middle 8 and then we only end up having one Rihanna verse plus her choruses.
  6. 212. Where Have You Been - Rihanna

    270. Talk That Talk (feat. Jay-Z) - Rihanna

Seems like WHYB has proved more popular in the long run and TTT was only cherry-picked because of its feat and Rihanna's previous singles with Jay-Z. And to make things worse TTT has been announced as the 3rd single while YD1 still struggles to get into the top 10. :drama: WHYB better not end up being 'Breakin' Dishes' II.

  7. Easily the best thing's she's ever recorded. I've probably played it like 40 or 50 times in the last two days :drama: I must confess though, it is kinda jumping on Rihanna's electrohouse bandwagon. I would have loved this to be recorded by her and to be the opening track on Talk That Talk. Imagine Elephant, Where Have You Been and We Found Love all in a row - absolute heaven.

Republic of Sass to enter The Buzzjack Song Contest with a bang

Newbie country, Republic of Sass has revealed that they intend to enter The Buzzjack Song Contest with a bang. The country is acclaimed for its fabulous sense of style, gorgeous looking homosexual men and for it's love of dance, trance and progressive house music. Republic of Sass aims to share inspired entries, the country's leader, Mark Sass has revealed in an interviewwith Sass Today that he would rather enter nothing than something that is well known and likely to be considered as a 'cheap entry'.

For their debut entry, the country has gone with a track that has been deemed a 'club banger'. It is by an unknown DJ featuring the vocals of floptastic female artist. The song's beat has been described as an 'infectious', while the vocals on the song have been labelled 'sexy' and 'sultry'. The entry features an insanely catchy chorus and is said to be one of those songs you instantly love on first listen. With these tactics, the Republic of Sass feel confident that they'll be able to earn a top-ten debut in the forthcoming Buzzjack Song Contest.

  9. I don't think Pixie will get to number one tbh, She's 60% behind Jessie J and that's a lot. I can't see her Dancing On Ice performance helping her no more than 15% on Sunday. I think the best she will do is reduce the gap to around 20% and even that's a massive ask as she would have to double her %.

KTS is continously on the increase though, the DOI performance and the increase in airplay and videoplay and talk about the video over the next few days COMBINED could be enough. KTS is having a similar style climb as 'Domino'.

  10. Kiss The Stars would have been a more successful single but if that was the second single then What Do You Take Me For wouldn't have got to be a single and so I'm happy it's the third single. So much drama in the last few pages! Haha. Kiss The Stars reaching #1 would be hilarious. It's an era saver in any case.

WDYTMF should have never been a single at all! The two uptempo, two ballad Turn It Up strategy would have worked just as well with this album! I still have hope that KTS sells and peaks well, regains interest in the album and in turn providing a platform for the ballad singles (Love You To Death, We Just Go On) to sell the album. The controversy and attention of the KTS video could very well revive and save this era in the end  Bless KTS

  11. It's so sad to think of how WDYTMF killed this era, KTS really should've been the second single! The Turn It Up era begin with two up/mid-tempo's and look how that era succeeded. IMO the era should've went like this:

    1 - All About Tonight

    2 - Kiss The Stars

    Album Release

3 - Love You To Death

4 - We Just Go On

5 - Come Get It Now (Full version for single release)

That would have worked out perfectly I'd think but anyways holding thumbs KTS peaks top 3 or preferrably #1, that would give room for the Cry Me Out/Gravity-type album-selling balads ala Love You To Death and We Just Go On. This era is clearly not over until the gorgeous lady sings

  12. At the pace Pixie is rising, I think she could even contend for #1 after DOI. She hasn't even reached the A-list yet and KTS is only fully released on January 29th. Mercury won't increase the single's price if they see it as contender for #1. It really should've been the second single!

  13. Lol @ all this talk on Pixie. Was her album expected to set the world alight or something? Her singles have been very underwhelming.

If her singles were so underwhelming, she wouldn't be on her way for a third consecutive top 10 hit on the trot, would she? And All About Tonight wouldn't be nominated for a BRIT Award either, would it?

Her music video has been praised by critics, and has been likened to the styles of Madonna, Gaga and Kylie. I really don't get all the hate behind it :-S IMO it's a brilliant video and she looks stunning

  14. Honestly, I find it so utterly embarrassing that people are actually buying that Pixie Lott song enough for it to be #06 on iTunes already. The general public's taste in music keeps on getting shitter and shitter

I can't believe all this unnecessary and unjustified hate for Pixie Lott and Kiss The Stars. It's ridiculous, if you don't like the song your taste quite frankly sucks but to hear every third person moaning about it is just OTT. Obviously the buying public loves it, I ADORE it and if you don't, start building a bridge for yourself and get over it, instead of repeating your hate 500 times.

That pic is a complete joke and obviously not our gorgeous Pixie, people really need to grow up on here.

  15. I think so too... It deserves to be as well. It's her best song. I think Hush Hush will go top 10 at least if released but for some reason I think she might be considering Love Mist, she tweeted the song the other day... Hush Hush is really the only song on the album that screams 3rd single for me
  16. The intro of Hush Hush is my fave part of the song ah such ear candy  If the intro bit where she goes "Huh, huh, huuh, huh" was repeated before the 2nd verse and in the bridge the song would be even more stunning. Like the humming bits in Happiness. Does anyone understand what I'm ranting about? :heehee:
