Scotland & Wales
This is in now way my thoughts of opinions. I am only the messenger. He said thus about building the Crossrail: "We need Crossrail to keep London's economy ticking over so that we can continue to pay for the Scottish to live the lifestyle to which they are accustomed." I only quote!

I'm interested to hear your opinion on being called Irish Sharon B! One of my closest friends comes and lives in Belfast and he has NO problem with being called Irish.

Fair point. Watch the kid going down the steps on the Effiel Tower.. They are open. I nearly put my foot through them and it scared the beejeebus outta me.

Plus my MS Word keeps reverting back to US English as it's dictionary default language. I blame the Americans for that alone. It's terribly irritating. The thing is that Americans don't actually have any history of their own. The modern country as we know it has only been since 1776. Kinda ironic that Americans flock to us for our history when they spent all that time and effort to become liberated from British rule.

Cheeky bugger, is he on here then? He's like an internet whore. Anyhooooo, I'm not sure if he's actually aware of the Little Oliver nickname. Blame Kris. The more accpeted one would be New Boy.

Great songs with dodgy lyrics
The ultimate nonsense lyric is either I Am The Walrus. Take your pick from those beauties, the whole song is a mash of nonsensical drivvle. Or De Do Do Do, De Da Da Da from The Police. I mean, De Do Do Do, De Da Da Da, is all I want to say to you? Sorry mate, but if you came up to me in a bar and said that, i'd be out of that dorr before you could sing the second line.

Garfield: A Tail of Two Kitties (GARFIELD MOVIE 2)

It's a Disney movie?
I shall rent it from my ScreenSelect account.. just after I get through the entire 2 series of The Twilight Zone. Seriously, it was an eyes bigger than my beller situation when I added them to my list. Regardless, back on topic. Disney remakes.... I see from your selection you like Lyndsay Lohan.

Cue the Sex Pistol Debate!

Sandi Thom
Well, yes I agree with you totally on how contradictory she is.. In a similar vain that was what i was saying in my post afterwards: Apparently she is also singing about a world "where people's aspirations are now not to change the world but just to be famous and rich" ...

It's a Disney movie?
Don't get me started on Herbie. He is a classic and a staple part or my childhood. To mess with Herbie Goes Bananas would be like to desecrate Holy ground. Anyways, that Aristrocrats film is supposed to be very funny. And I dont have a 3 year old! I have no children!

The Royal Family
You could argue that the London is reputed as the most culturaly diverse city in Europe, having both The Proms at The Royal Albert Hall, AND the the Notting Hill Carnival.

Scotland & Wales
To be completely honest, as a member of the general public, I don't mind either way. I agree with jester when he says that if the majority vote for independence from each country then so be it; let them have it. However, as the Govenment. You let the other countries go, you loose power. I call myself English, not British, not from the United Kingdom. I find it ludicrous that people get annoyed when I dont say British. Likewise I call Scottish people Scottish, the Welsh Welsh, and the Irish Irish. Now sod off. lol.. What are people's thoughts on what Mayor Ken (I live in London) said about the Scottish the other day? Did anyone hear?

The Royal Family
Here here. I think it all comes down to status. To have a Royal Family makes the "ones in the know" who run this country feel like they have one over other countrys. Think playground politics. I have a tiger's eye marble and you don't so ner ner ner ner. Do you get me? It goes back to our Empire days, really. We were Queen Bee at one point and keeping the Royals just allows the higher powers to reminise about that. Quite frankly, what else have they got going for them? At least Tony B is going soon, but then I don't like the Torys either. As for the income they generate.. I think that with some research you may find that they cost this country a lot of money. On saying that, they do bring in money too. But, they aren't the sole tourist money spinner. I do agree that particularly the Americans and Japanese flock here to catch a glimpse of the Royals. The Americans love them. To be honest I think people put too much emphaisis on the Royals as being a good thing. They are neither good nor bad. They just need to stop spending so much money.
