  1. I love Driving in My Car. That and My Girl are the best Madness songs IMO. I used to go with my uncle to see Madness play at The Brighton Centre - it's a top top night. They are touring in December, people you seriously must go and see them live cos Suggs is such a dude.
  2. Wasn't The Kingsmen and Louie Louie banned? I know it was in the States, even the FBI have a file on it. You can see it up on the FBI website. It's a classic tune, I love it.

Actually I don't think she's failed THAT miserably.. No one bought her record, so she's not that rich and famous. So, she's actually done what she's apparently singing about. However, how true is one to ones "morals" if someone waved a huge contract and loadsa money infront of ones face? Do you think she'd rebel?

Ms Presto's favs and why: Alice in Wonderland. (The Cheshire Cat.. nuff said) The Jungle Book. (It's all about The Bear Neccessities - forget about your trouble and your strife - yeh, man!) The Aristocats. (I only like that Tom O'Mally Everybody Wants To Be Cat dude in it, he's a pretty cool cat)
  5. I'm intrigued by this film. I can't say that the first one actually tickled me in places I like to be tickled, but it has a nice Sunday lazy film charm about it. It's something light that you can watch to pass the day. I will go and see the second one.
  6. If the number of the beast was calculated correctly by a computer programme as 616, then the computer programme got it wrong. If it has anything to do at ALL with computers the number of the beast would be 404!
  7. Actually the first thing I thought of was how far in advance they were showing the trailer! That suggests to me that, to quote the legendary Morrissey the ones "somewhere with a big nose, who knows" don't actually know anything at all.

Indeed. The Young Ones... shouldn't be afraid, eh? Or was that before this Thom woman started writing songs influenced by them? lol.. I joke!
  9. Oh I cant be botherd with these functions. I mean, it can be useful when you have a few people that you regularly chat to, but i feel a little pompus asking people to add me. I may add that granwicky bloke seeing as I did really embarrass him once. You remember that?! Hahahaha.. I'll never forget it...
  10. Is there anyway in which you can search a forum by using less than 4 letters? I tried to do a search for Dr Who, as I want to start a new thread up in the TV forum, but because both words are under 4 letters the search threw up an error. Sorry, I'm at work and while I know it is very naughty of me playing on this forum instead of doing work, I still haven't go the time to scroll through 8 pages of a forum to look to see if something has already been posted. I tried the star wildcard thingy, but no luck cos it's under 4 letters. Also, sticking DrWho together as one word defeats the purpose of my search. Who in their right mind writes DrWho? It's Dr Who. I don't want to re-post an old thread if there's already one. We can use that old one.. do ya get meh? Thank you in advance. :yahoo: << Ha Ha Ha! I love this guy.
  11. I think he's a fine actor, but I do find that he does try a little too hard trying to be THE Dr. Do you get me? The reason why you liked the Madame de Pompadour episode maybe was because it related to Casanova! Period dress, etc etc.. lol... Maybe he should stick to the corsets and white wigs. He's a good Shakespearian actor too.

Really?!? That's cool. I started that thread actually..lol... I really like him.

Well, to be completely honest you are going to have that with anything, in any era. No matter what it is about, or when it was written. in a wider context, that's not a reason to dislike the song or her. I don't quite understand whether you like the song, but are annoyed at people moaning about the "old days" or or just don't like the song full stop, though. But that's no matter. Anyhooo, I wasn't going to get too much involved with this debate but I have to point somethings out. I am willing to accept that maybe she is talented, has TECHNICALLY a good voice (although somewhat irritating), and was taught by a Beatle. Doesn't mean she is going to appeal to everyone. But again, that's not to say she's rubbish. Personally, I just don't like the song. It has no good lyrical content in it, the tune is irritating, and her voice grates on me, but I understand people may think she has technical ability.
  14. Sean Pertwee?! I thought we agreed there's been one too many Event Horizon references in Dr Who already?! Also, about Tom Baker. Quite the opposite. I remember reading somewhere he quite liked the innocence of children around the Dr. The idea that when you see these people on TV, as a child you believe they are real. There IS a real Dr Who. Apparently, he used to swap his beer for an orange juice if a child was near - just to keep the illusion up for them. EDIT: PS: Stop bad mouthing the Tennant! LMFAO!

Um.. thanks! Erm... I was only giving some pointers..lol. I have designed and modified my own forum here: http://www.theordinaryarmyforum.co.uk It's only a pants phpBB, but it does me.

The Army's going crazy about him? Who's that apart from me?
  17. You say Preston thinks no... That's completely wrong. The Man from The Ordinary Boys.. He says YES! Take the song On An Island... he ALWAYS without fail will do a little Anti-BNP rant beforehand. Also, he was recently on the South Politics Show giving his views on the homeless. I think politics in pop is good as it gets people who wouldnt switch on the news aware of issues that they couldnt care less about.

Well there you have it.. lol.. I dont like her music either, it's just not my thing...

Apologies if you've mentioned him before on here, but I did a search and found nothing, so I htought "what the hay!?" Yes, Plan B. Anyone heard of him. He had a song on the Soundtrack to KiDULTHOOD. he's pretty heavy going, and swears a bit, but that's nothing important really. I hate comparing people to the greats of old - they are great for a reason - but this dude is seriously, Bob Dylan for our times. His songs are like a story - seriously, you should listen to him. Thanks for your time.

I understand.. A few thoughts, if I may comment? Well, you could do this but wouldn't the review get lost amoung the other threads on this forum? If a sub-forum was added purely for reviews then that would solve the problem of the review threads getting lost. I understand what you mean about them potentially distracting from the main forum, but I don't think they will. People come on this forum to talk about other things as well as reviews about movies surely? Tell me to shut up if I'm wrong cos I'm new and haven't become aquainted properly with everything on here. To solve both problems can you use some form of "sticky" or "announcement" function on the forum for mods/admins? They can sticky a review to the top and then there's no need for a sub-forum. However, there's a problem with the forum being over run by sticky reviews at the top and the proper threads waaaaayy down the page. And I hate scrolling. The other problem is a lot of admin work on the mods part, in deleting old reviews etc... It's your call Mr Boss Man! EDITED cos I cant spell....
  22. Tennant and Davison are IMO the best Drs so far. - Totally disagree, both annoy the fukk out of me to be honest, Tom Baker and Jon Pertwee were the daddies.... Oh, Tom Baker - K9 and the multicoloured scarf! I like Tom Baker but the fact that every (particularly Americans) think that his regeneration is the be all and end all of the whole IDEA of Dr Who just annoys the fukk (as you so eloquently put it..lol) out of me. I do think he's a good Dr though. Are you aware of his thoughts about small children and the Dr? I shall enlighten you if you ask. Anyhoo, I hope we both agree that Tom Baker is much better than Colin Baker? Eccelston and McCoy were utter pants. - Agree on McCoy, totally disagree on Eccleston, miles better than Tennant. Really? I thought Eccleston was rather wooden. I think Tennant is amuch better actor all round cos he seems to have taken the Dr into a new kind of humour. I like the trendy-geek quality about him. Impossible Planet WAS a rip-off of Event Horizon. - Yup, totally with you there Nuff Said. It wasn't the best out of the new ones. I'm waiting for the Peter Kay episode. - Hm, could be a good one, but I still feel that the best episode of this series so far was the Madame de Pompadour one. The one episode where Tennant actually really acted the part and didn't constantly mug, screech or just generally be irritating... Again, it's the humour he's brought to the Dr. I thought the Madame de Pompadour was good... the horse made it. Nevertheless, my thoughts are still I want to see the Peter Kay one. Just for curiousity. Bonnie Langford should be banished never to return to the Who again. - I stopped watching Dr Who when that annoying ginger bint was on.... I never even bothered. Just  In regards to Rose Tyler, I have loads of theories about her. After looking in to the Time Vortex is she now turning into a Time Lord?! ARGH! Please no.... - I second that. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!! If you're up for it we should discuss our mutual hatred for this, away from the forum. Are there any Billie Piper fans around???
  23. Through no fault of my own I have seen them about 3 times now... Always as support.
  24. Bugger it, my useless peice of pop triva has already been mentioned. That being the Elvis/The Clash cover... Anyhooo... I still think Nevermind by Nirvana was a pretty nifty cover.. the baby swimming for the dollar bill one.. you all know it!
  25. Welllll.... no one on there likes Dr Who.... they are all completely mad..
