  5. TIPs Chart Singles Prediction Game - Chart Sunday 2nd May 2010 :cheer: :yahoo:  :cheer: WEEK 18 IN 2010!!! Each week I will ask you to predict where 14 songs are (hopefully) going to be in the following Sunday's chart. The point scoring will be as before (10 pts if spot on with your prediction down to 1 pt if you are 9 positions out. A 75+ prediction if correct will still be worth 5 Points). If a new single is pulled from release or non-chart eligible then everyone's prediction for that question will be void and everyone will be awarded 5 points. Due to physical singles sales declining I have scrapped the old rule of awarding points should the physical release be postponed so long as the download release goes ahead as scheduled. I will ask THREE bonus questions which require a Yes or No answer. Each bonus question is worth 20 Pts. Therefore for a normal week there will be a maximum of 200 Points to gain. PREDICT THE FOLLOWING : Sales Period: Sunday 25th April – Saturday 2nd May Alicia Keys – Try Sleeping With A Broken Heart Adam Lambert – For Your Entertainment Biffy Clyro - Bubbles The Courteeners – Take Over The World Glee Cast – Like A Prayer Glee Cast – 4 Minutes Lady Antebellum – Need You Now Marina & The Diamonds – I Am Not A Robot N-Dubz – Say Its Over Roll Deep – Good Times 3OH!3 – Don’t Trust Me Timbaland ft Justin Timberlake – Carry Out Tina Turner – The Best Train – Hey Soul Sister Bonus #1: Will Diana Vickers - Once be higher than Plan B – She Said in the chart? Bonus #2: Will Ellie Goulding – Starry Eyed be higher than Justin Bieber ft Ludacris – Baby in the chart? Bonus #3: Will Joshua Radin – I’d Rather Be With You be higher than Owl City - Fireflies in the chart? You have up until circa 09:00 UK Time on Tuesday 27th April to get your entries in (I'll be keeping the thread open) but entries altered after the midweeks have arrived will be excluded. Each Game counts towards the Overall Leaderboard (The Best 48 Games) at the end of the year. Whilst I will maintain the last 6 weeks Leaderboard for newer players If you have never played before, then here is a great opportunity to join in the fun near the beginning of 2010! :cheer:
  6. From BBC's website - all Sunday's polls: Ipsos Mori/News of the World poll: Lib Dems on 23% (down nine), Labour second with 30% (up two) and the Conservatives in the lead on 36% - up four. ComRes for the Independent on Sunday and Sunday Mirror: It also puts the Tories in first place, but on 34% (down one), followed by the Lib Dems on 29% (up two) with Labour third on 28% (up three). An ICM poll of 1,020 people for the Sunday Telegraph: the Conservatives on 35% (up two points on last Sunday), Labour on 26% (down two) and the Lib Dems on 31% (up one). YouGov for the Sunday Times: the Tories on 35% (up two on last week), with the Lib Dems down one on 28% and Labour down three on 27%.

I think Emilie is gone tonight as ironically she was OK tonight, and the judges gave her comments to that effect. I think she will be in the bottom two with Jenny, whom sung first and took all the emotion out of Duffy's Warwick Avenue. But tonight, Sophie deserves to get KO'd for what she did to Sara Bareilles' Love Song - perhaps the worst performance of the series to date, but she'll pick up the sympathy vote. OMG .... re: Emilie .... she is brilliant doing this Doris Day Oklahoma song (Deadwood Stage).

Yes, but it was the one episode that previously featured the Weeping Angels, therefore the comparison is relevant; and tonight's episode whilst good, moved me nowhere near as much emotionally probably as there was no one in tonight cast who is likely to get nominated for an Oscar in the future

I thought overall it was good, Matt Smith was the best he has been yet in the series. However, yet again, like last week, the second half of the episode didn't live up to the first half, the tension with Amy being trapped with the Angel coming through the screen was the highlight of the series so far. But yet again the show's direction in the second half let down a rather good script, as the pace and tension slowed it down to a bit of a drag. But, I hate to say this, but that episode was certainly no Blink; nor was it on a par with Silence in the Library / Forest Of The Dead. 7/10

Dilemma is the right word. For the record I much prefer New Pornographers (if some of the so called music experts are correct then a 21st century equivalent of Prog is definitely going to be the in thing soon); but I reckon the Sub Focus ft Coco track will get you more point-age.
  12. 113 181 156 X X Daniel Powter - Bad Day 5.156 112 173 X X X Saturdays - Up 5.182 111 86 36 31 X Sugababes - Too Lost In You 5.212 The Canadian singer/songwriter's most famous song continues to do well on the countdown climbing 68 places; whilst the UK girl group who must surely be hoping to capitalize on the current situations with the Sugababes & Girls Aloud climb 61 places with my least favourite single of their's; and speaking of the Sugababes Mutya; Keisha & Heidi appear, but not for the last time.
  13. 116 37 32 34 96 Mariah Carey - We Belong Together 5.125 115 X X X 182 Oasis – Stop Crying Your Heart Out 5.147 114 X X X X Mary J. Blige - Family Affair 5.148 Mariah Carey has her worst ever result (and her first outside the Top 100) with the best single she has managed in a decade IMHO; Oasis make their sole appearance on the countdown (probably due to Leona Lewis covering it on her latest album); and a very welcome first appearance for what I think is one of the greatest Urban records ever made.
  14. 119 83 X X X Kings Of Leon - Sex On Fire 5.091 118 105 12 39 117 Kelly Clarkson - Because Of You 5.094 117 69 104 178 X Britney Spears - I'm A Slave 4 U 5.111 Three fallers this time; that overplayed Kings Of Leon track that I cannot stand falls 36 places; the excellent power ballad by the first American Idol winner falls 13 places but spends its 5th year on the countdown; and another track that I was never keen on compared to many of her other records falls 38 places.
  15. Nope, that was a deliberate bit of editoral by myself as I really liked the video to Halo; but I always thought the video to Halo was awfully overrated.
  16. 122 91 X X X Aaliyah - More Than A Woman 5.029 121 X 79 X 119 Emma Bunton - What Took You So Long? 5.037 120 150 X 108 121 Maroon 5 - She Will Be Loved 5.091 The late great Aaliyah falls 31 places with my favourite ever Timbaland production; the Dancing On Ice judge wins the honour of being the highest placed Spice Girl; and Adam Levine and co climb 30 places with a track that reminds me of the late 1970s/early 1980s outfit The Police.
  17. 125 X X X X Cascada - Everytime We Touch 5.000 124 93 88 X X Timbaland ft. Keri Hilson – The Way I Are 5.000 123 X X X X Black Eyed Peas – Boom Boom Pow 5.028 European dance outfit Cascada reach the Top 200 for the first time; the grammatically incorrect Timbaland chart topping single falls 41 places; and hello again to the BEPs with the lead single from their latest album.
  18. 128 147 82 X 53 Black Eyed Peas ft Justin Timberlake – Where Is The Love? 4.946 127 74 161 X 68 Atomic Kitten - Whole Again 4.963 126 106 X 179 X Delerium ft Sarah McLachlan - Silence 4.963 The break out hit for Will.i.am, Fergie & co climbs 19 places; whilst Atomic Kitten's maiden UK#1 hit falls 53 places; and the excellent dance/trance record from 2000 falls 20 spots.
  19. 131 96 X X Snow Patrol ft Martha Wainwright - Set The Fire To The Third Bar 4.921 130 139 X X 163 Roger Sanchez - Another Chance 4.926 129 176 124 76 103 Wheatus - Teenage Dirtbag 4.926 This batch of three sees a surprise (to me) drop for the Snow Patrol track featuring the Canadian sister of Rufus that seems to be far more popular now then it was when it was first released; the dance track sampling early 1980s AOR outfit Toto climbs marginally & two hit wonders Wheatus climb with the song that most people can remember.
  20. 134 X X X X Beyonce – Halo 4.889 133 X X X X Empire Of The Sun - We Are The People 4.889 132 X X 99 144 Pussycat Dolls Ft Busta Rhymes - Don't Cha 4.906 Beyonce makes one of her four solo (& additional four more Destiny's Child appearances) in this countdown with this track with "one of the best videos of all time"; the Australian duo made up of the lead singer from Sleepy Jackson & a key member of PNAU also reach the Top 200; and the PCDs breakthrough #1 hit re enters the Top 200 after a two year break.
  21. 137 X 143 121 200 Natalie Imbruglia - Shiver 4.844 136 X X 152 105 iio - Rapture 4.852 135 X X X X Estelle ft Kanye West - American Boy 4.879 Australian singer/songwriter Natalie returns to the Top 200 after missing out last year; likewise the excellent dance record from iio returns after a two year break; but it is hello for the first time to the UK chart topping single by UK Urban female act Estelle along with a US artist producer & writer whose talent matches the size of his ego Kanye West.
  22. 140 X X X X Kelly Osbourne – One Word 4.781 139 80 190 115 50 Gorillaz - Clint Eastwood 4.815 138 191 X X X Muse - Plug in Baby 4.815 Making her first ever appearance on this Top 200 is the youngest daughter of Ozzy & Sharon (PS. Am I the only one who thinks the "unseen" Osbourne (Aimee) is a dead ringer for Glee Cast member/Broadway star Lea Michele); Damon Albarn's animated outfit spend their 5th year on the Top 200; & Muse climb 53 places.
