I think Doja would suit really well on a Funk Wav track, so hopefully she will feature. Do we think the lead single could be coming in the next few weeks with Calvin playing Radio 1 Big Weekend on the 28th??

That's all very good to hear. I reckon it'll be at least 2026 till they are back together, which would be good for the 15th anniversary. If they are going to commit to not overlapping releases it's gonna take a good few years for singles, album release and possible solo tours.

I do think this is the case unfortunately. Like who is Sam Smith's audience in 2022 that want a mid tempo self love song?? It's just not popular anymore. The only way I see them getting another hit is sticking with the DWAS/HDYS style pop.

This has grown on me, but is still more of a cute album track rather than big comeback lead single. I can't see it having much commercial success, so hopefully they've got something better planned for single 2.

I’ve seen Lizzo’s new song being used a fair bit on TikTok for a new trend, so I’m sure that’s contributing to the big rise.

I very much agree with this. I love both the Too Good At Goodbyes type song and the Dancing With A Stranger upbeat tracks but this is in the middle and just bland. I think if the production was a bit fuller I’d enjoy it more.

Darkoo and Backroadgee remix out on Friday. It’s really not sounding great. I wish they’d spend less time on these shoddy remixes and more time actually making a good song.

It is rather annoying that those songs are going to continue clogging up the top of the chart. However I think it’s more of a problem with lack of new/exciting releases than a fault with ACR. Look at the top 4 now, As It Was, Baby, First Class and Starlight all easily debuted in the top 2. It might just be me, but even a few years ago it felt like there were exciting releases every few weeks, now we’re lucky to even get one a month.

I don't seeing this making the top 40 unfortunately. From looking at their instagram stories it looks like they've already filmed the next single, unless its a remix version with a rapper. (I can't tell who they are with though)
