The Buzzjack Friday Chart Show Thread: 16th September 2022
You got it, it was JLS!

Spotify & Apple Music Chart Discussion
Maybe it would, but it's never re-entered then either!

Spotify & Apple Music Chart Discussion
I was just thinking about that! That's perhaps surprisingly never re-entered the Spotify chart on those dates here, wish it could though.

Round 2: Ella Henderson Survivor
Although Risk It All did reach the top 100 (just!), unlike Dream On Me, Hurricane and Heartstrings.

Worst Number One Ever - the 2007-2022 shortlist
By contrast, I think Crazy Stupid Love is by far the worst of Cheryl's contenders here  And yes, very true about how difficult this must be to put together. It's quite clear that there's a much wider range of opinions here on the songs from this period!

Worst Number One Ever - the 2007-2022 shortlist
But Baby's Coming Back is rubbish, not just boring!

Montell Fish - Hotel
I can see why it's being compared to The Weeknd, it's definitely giving The Hills vibes! Not quite as good as that ofc but decent enough, would be good to see this become a hit.

Worst Number One Ever - the 2007-2022 shortlist
I approve of nearly all of those changes! Loca People is a good tune though. Maybe Crazy Stupid Love would have been a better choice for the Cheryl song to include here?

Friday Chart Predictions
Lewis back up to #2 then, still looks safe for David and Bebe to get the #1. Good to see Hotel climbing since yesterday's update too. Wow at the gap between the Rina and Suede albums somehow being even closer than it was before!

AJR - OK Orchestra
It's much better than anything else I've heard from AJR, still has a bit of that cringe factor but it is also quite fun and catchy too. Wouldn't mind it becoming a hit.

Round 2: Ella Henderson Survivor
Glad the right choice was made for last place here, hopefully 21 Reasons goes next!
-
Spotify & Apple Music Chart Discussion
505 is, that's been consistently in the US Spotify top 50 for weeks now! Tom Odell hasn't been that high, but has been in their top 200 for a while.

Friday Chart Predictions
The Blue Hour opened with 10,986 sales, so they haven't quite matched it yet but surely will by the end of the week.
-
Round 8 | 1992 End of Year Survivor
Erasure yet again, surely has to go now!
-
Worst Number One Ever - the 2007-2022 shortlist
If we're saving Dance Monkey for longevity reasons or being 'marmite' (i.e. a fair amount of people also like it), I've seen plenty of people in here defending Payphone too!
-
Round 4: End Of Year Number 42 SURVIVOR
Beatfreakz to leave next please!
-
FINAL: Ultimate Survivor 4.0
Good final two, difficult to choose between them but Dakota gets my vote!
-
Worst Number One Ever - the 2007-2022 shortlist
Turn Up The Music should be in this list too, yes! The suggestions of Dirtee Disco and Baby's Coming Back above are also definitely worth considering.

Worst Number One Ever - the 2007-2022 shortlist
Agreed with a few of those proposed swaps, I would suggest that (Barry) Islands in the Stream, We Can't Stop and Señorita should be in here instead of Beautiful Girls, No Regrets and Payphone! Also would consider adding WAP and Blurred Lines to save Green Light and I Don't Care (if we're going by how some of the lyrics on Green Light have aged badly you could make the same argument for Blurred Lines!), and for artist swaps I'm thinking Hallelujah could replace Start Without You for Alexandra (Burke, that is ) and Savage Love could replace Don't Wanna Go Home for Derulo.

Similar Song Intros
I had never thought about this before but you've got a point, would love to imagine Bob's single was inspired by that

Friday Chart Predictions
At least we've still got the top 20 on the OCC website (although they've put the record labels in the artist column!), that also gives me hope that this was just a one-off show.

Crazy What Love Can Do back in the top 10

Ignoring the new Blackpink track too!

They've given an exception for the #1 then!
