No recap either today then by the sounds of it!

That's what it says on the OCC list they have in front of them :D

Surely Anne-Marie and Aitch are in the top 40, so have they just not mentioned them at all?!

I'm really hoping this is just a one-off for the mourning period!

Not only are we hearing all the freshest hits, but we're getting all the biggest hits too!

OK, time to get predictions in for where Late Night Talking is, I'm going for #13

And Heat Waves.

I could see that being true to be fair, but I could also see this being a change for the 'Jack Saunders era' of the chart show. I hope you're right though!

If they still do that, that's going to be VERY intense!

We're really getting all the freshest hits with the extension to a top 40 tonight :kink:

Exactly! Playing For My Hand in this update makes sense but why they played Last Last as well makes no sense to me.

That's why I included "and the songs at the top end" in that, I would suggest they could play the top five in full for instance if they had time.

The presenters don't decide which songs to play to be fair but they should be saying the positions of the songs they are playing.

If they did play the new entries, climbers and the songs at the top end for the hour (and included the positions!) then there is potential for this to be an improvement on what we had before! I don't see it happening though, it just sounds to me like they're seeing the chart aspect as being less important.

Yeah that's an even bigger recurring issue!

Sounds like they're just extending to a top 40 so they have more control over what they play in this hour?

And so they skip new entries to play a song that's going down on its 16th week. :( Not quite like the chart update used to be!

I enjoyed how overdone the autotune was on Don't Wake Me Up! Agreed that Beautiful People captured the euphoric sound better but I would say it was an improvement on Yeah 3x (which was just stealing Calvin's work that was eventually credited) and the incredibly generic Turn Up The Music. Everything he's done from 2016 onwards has been really poor.

Same, I really think Something From Nothing and Run should have been included!

Yes, First Look is still scheduled for Sunday!
