Vol. 77, which will be out on Friday, 29 January 2021. The cover art, I should say, is a glorified and in my opinion, a more colourfully detailed take of the British NOW 104 (Nov 2019) cover art. The NOW guys in the US are kicking of the year on a good note. Seven songs previously appeared on UK's NOW 107 (Nov 2020), and one song, "Head & Heart", also appeared on NOW 106 (July 2020). From being a NOW What's Next track on the US NOW 75 (Aug 2020), "Control" by Zoe Wees has been given an upgrade to the main 16 this time around. Speaking of "Head & Heart", I previously hoped that it would appear on the previous NOW 76 (Nov 2020). Thankfully the duo made it here! Pamparampampam-pampamparam... :dance: The obligatory country song or two in the main tracks can't be found here this time. It's the first time this has happened since NOW 72 (Nov 2019), as I'm not really counting Kane Brown's guest vocals on "One Thing Right" by Marshmello, which I am counting as from the EDM genre. But if you want to be a little more technical, NOW 68 (Nov 2018) was the last time the country genre was shunned out - no, Lauren Daigle and her song "You Say" is *not* country, but CCM (Contemporary Christian Music). Also... BLACKPINK IN YOUR AREA! :cheer: I honestly got so hyped up when I saw the group's name on the list. The K-pop girl group, consisting of Jennie, Lisa, Rosé and Jisoo, is the second Korean music act to appear on a US NOW album after their former YG Entertainment (and Interscope) labelmate PSY and his monster hit, "Gangnam Style" on NOW 44 (Nov 2012). Quite comfortable for the NOW team to include a song from them that is predominantly English (with a few Korean rap lines from Lisa). They're not BTS, but I do believe the girls deserve their place here. Ritt Momney's cover version of Corinne Bailey Rae's "Put Your Records On" makes its way here. The original song previously appeared on the American NOW 24 (March 2007) and British NOW 63 (April 2006). I am yet to be accustomed to the new version, but I believe the guy also deserves some credit for his re-imagining of this wonderful noughties classic. Special mention as well to Salem Ilese, whose rant to Mickey and friends, made it here as a What's Next artist; "mad at disney" has a minor popularity here in my country. Notable omissions: T-Swift from her Evermore era (probably next album), Harry Styles (again), BTS (as mentioned) P.S. I think I also love NOW 107, and I think it may just be the best numbered UK NOW of 2020. I'll tell you why in my next post.

I get the frustration you guys are feeling right now about the lack of T-Swift in the UK NOWs. After all, her last appearance there is from NOW 99 (2018) with "Ready for It", the second single from her "reputation" album. In addition, no songs from the "1989" and "Lover" eras ever made it in the UK NOWs. (And that's only from her post-pop transition phase which produced more UK chart hits for her. But if you'd like to be a bit more technical, then so are the "Taylor Swift" and "Speak Now" eras, too, when she only started to make her mark in the industry, and "Love Story" off her second album, "Fearless", was her biggest UK hit at that point.) Gosh, I vividly remember that T-Swift streak of US NOW appearances from the "1989" era - from "Blank Space" through to "Out of the Woods" that appeared from NOW 54 (2015) to 58 (2016) - 5 consecutive albums that spanned a year!

I'm kind of noticing, though, that they have liberally used a white-coloured typeface and border since NOW 100 (2018), except for NOW 105 (which was, shall I say, a "colourful" change). Now, over in the other side of the pond, the US is prepping up for their Q4 2020 release, NOW That's What I Call Music! Vol. 76. As first confirmed by independent record store ZT Records as well as by Amazon, it will be released on Friday, 23 October 2020, mimicking the same time last year when its equivalent NOW 72 was also released in the fourth (and at the time, last) Friday of October. Four were from NOW 106, and "Supalonely" previously appeared on NOW 105. I can see that some of them could be part of the UK's NOW 107. The elusive T-Swift is back, and surprisingly fresh off the campaign of her latest album, "folklore". It's the first time that a lead single from her album has made it in the main NOW ranks since "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" off her 2012 country/pop album "RED" which appeared on NOW 45 in early 2013 (and I'm not counting "Shake It Off" from her 2014 all-pop album "1989" that belatedly appeared on NOW 20th Anniversary Vol. 2 in 2019). Speaking of "Rain on Me", the song's appearance on NOW 76 is proof that there is no reason to not include it in NOW 107, given that it was a UK number-one a few months ago (heck, it should've been on NOW 106!). It would be a shocker if they still didn't include it in NOW 107 - alongside DaBaby's "Rockstar" that went atop both the UK and US charts - but maybe I'll give it a pass if they favour the likes of "Sour Candy" featuring BLACKPINK and/or "911". Didn't know that "Breaking Me" is somewhat of a hit in the States. I love the song when I first heard it in NOW 106, alongside my current jam, "Head & Heart" by Joel Corry & MNEK, which I hope appears as part of the NOW What's Next section. The BEP are back on the NOW albums, too, after Fergie's departure from the group a few years ago. This time around, they've got their new female member on board, J Rey Soul, who's a fellow Filipino just like apl.de.ap. I just wonder why she's credited separately, alongside one other song from their latest album "Translation" - maybe they didn't have the time to make her able to contribute to all of the album's songs? That kinda reminds me of the "Pussycat Dolls feat. Nicole Scherzinger" credit in the pop version of AR Rahman's "Jai Ho" from the hit Bollywood movie "Slumdog Millionaire" - which, in case you've forgotten, appeared on summer 2009's NOW 73 in the UK! Rapper Juice WRLD makes a posthumous appearance in this album; he died late last year. #RIPJuiceWRLD (I kinda knew about this, but I had to look again just to be sure.) NOW What's Next artist Shaylen makes her second appearance in this section, after her song "El Dorado" appeared on NOW 68 (2018). Notable omissions, among others: Zayn - "Better", Shawn Mendes - "Wonder" (too new perhaps, maybe they'll save this for NOW 77), Katy Perry, Dua Lipa, Cardi/Meghan - "WAP", Harry Styles - "Watermelon Sugar", and of course, BTS - "Dynamite", which may put the boys' potential NOW 107 appearance in jeopardy.

Indeed. Or they could've easily gone away with whatever Ed Sheeran song they included in the actual NOW albums. Not to mention, another superstar of the 2010s decade was missed out, too - your very own Adele. Missed opportunity for "Hello" to be in here, or again, any of her hits that appeared in the NOW albums themselves, which was mostly from the "21" era. To be honest, the first time you posted the track list, I was also quite bothered as to why "What About Us" was sandwiched between songs from 2013, which just didn't make sense if they compiled the songs in a (somewhat) chronological order. Thanks for correcting it, by the way. As with your alternative song suggestions, I agree with your Kesha and Cheryl ones. As for Gaga, I'd go for either "Born This Way" or "The Edge of Glory" since these were the ones that appeared in the numbered NOWs, and for BEP, my personal choice would be "The Time (Dirty Bit)".

The NOW team's just confirmed the upcoming NOW 100 Hits 2010s release. Its cover art kind of mimics its US counterpart. @1309553473634086912 And yes, Cheryl's "Fight for This Love", released in September 2009, reached number one a week later, and featured on NOW 74 from November 2009, will actually be included there. Yikes. Indeed, it would've been her 2012 number-one "Call My Name", as that one would fit better towards the opening tracks of disc 2. It's also the first appearance for "Love You More" by JLS, released in 2010 as that year's BBC Children in Need single. The sophomore single from their "Outta This World" album, it narrowly missed out for NOW 77 (Nov. 2010), even though it reached number-one given its status as a high-profile charity record, and quite understandable, too, given that very reason. It was then left out of NOW 78 (April 2011) in favour of their latest single at that point, "Eyes Wide Shut" featuring Tinie Tempah. P!nk's 2017 hit "What About Us" is actually placed in disc 5, between Dua Lipa's "New Rules" and Rag'n'Bone Man's "Human". Indeed, there are a few 2009 releases here. Save for the Cheryl track, they appeared on NOW 75, which was released at the start of the decade - March 2010 to be exact. Despite its apparent shortcomings, I believe it is a very good album capping the decade that was. Well, that's for me on a personal note, given that these are most of my schooling years - the first few years are my high school years (2009-2013)*, majority of it spent in uni (2013-2018), and finally, my transition to the "adulting" phase of life (2019-present). So, these songs provide a trip to my own memory lane that is very, very close to my heart. *Yep, we only had a four-year high school programme at the time; my country has since fully transitioned into K-12 education only a few years back.

Can't help but reply to some of the posts in here. Allow me to have my say... Indeed, Madge hasn't appeared in any of the numbered NOWs in the UK. The closest would be her appearances in the spinoff titles. Some of them include NOW That's What I Call the 00's*, where her 2005 UK number-one song "Hung Up" made an appearance, and the retrospective NOW That's What I Call 30 Years, released in 2013, that included her 80's hit "Into the Groove", which was also a UK number-one. It's a different story stateside, though, where she made her first-ever numbered NOW appearance on NOW 42 (2012) with "Give Me All Your Luvin'" featuring Nicki Minaj and M.I.A., the lead single from her 2012 album "MDNA" and her first single under her current record label Interscope. *I'm talking about the 2010 version of NOW 00's (I personally own a copy of it!), which I'd like to call the Ashley Abram version, as he was still at the helm at the time. It's because there is another version of NOW 00's released in 2017, which of course, is done by current compiler Jenny Fisher. Yep. There's "Rockabye" with Clean Bandit (from NOW 95, 2016), "FRIENDS (Official Friendzone Anthem)" with Marshmello (NOW 99, 2018), and "Don't Leave Me Alone" with David Guetta (NOW 101, 2018), and that's just the ones with the, as you said, major producers.

Half of the songs here will also appear on the upcoming NOW 106 (out this Friday!), and three are from NOW 105 ("Stupid Love", "Intentions", and "Before You Go"). Another big blow to the UK NOW team, as "ROCKSTAR", which I am aware recently had a long stint atop the UK charts, as well as "Stuck with U", appear on this album, but not on its UK counterpart, NOW 106. Hope they still have a chance on NOW 107 - same with Gaga & Ariana's "Rain on Me". And yet another occurrence of a previous NOW What's Next bonus track being promoted to the main tracks, in this case it's Surfaces' "Sunday Best". As I implied, this isn't the first time this has happened. Examples include Hot Chelle Rae's "Tonight Tonight" (NOW 38 & 39), MKTO's "Classic" (NOW 47 & 51), and WALK THE MOON's "Shut Up and Dance" (NOW 53 & 54). There are also times when an artist appeared in the main tracks then to the NOW What's Next section (e.g. Michael Franti & Spearhead - NOW 32 & 38) or the other way around, prominent example is Shawn Mendes who started out with NOW 52 as a NOW What's Next artist and since then has appeared on multiple US NOWs in the main tracks section. The US NOW team have also announced a spinoff title that recaps the decade that was, with NOW That's What I Call a Decade: 2010s. But apparently, the list above is for the CD version of the album, as shown in the NOW US website and Amazon. The Apple Music/iTunes and Spotify versions are presented as playlists, with more songs and therefore, is more diverse and made the 2010s decade well-represented, just like what the UK NOWs did in the past with their 3-disc spinoff titles, prior to shifting to the 100 Hits format. Also, it's surprising to see the Bieber remix of Despacito in this US NOW spinoff title. In a previous version of this post, I pointed out that this more popular version of the song is barely featured on the UK NOW spinoffs (for instance, NOW Summer Party 2018 had the "pop version remix" of the song) and other non-NOW spinoff titles (except for a few cases, like the 2018 Grammy Nominees album). And just a quick reply to Hadji's previous post: Darn, they used the edit versions of "If You're Too Shy (Let Me Know)", "Tondo", and "Save a Kiss" for NOW 106. Yikes! Also, nice coincidence that NOW 106's CD 1 is 1:06:54. ^_^

Here's to hoping they pull out a NOW 81 and change the tracklist (even a minor one will do), unless they're already mass-producing the album (NOW 106, that is).

Well, this is gonna be a big blow to the UK NOW team: "Rain on Me" is included in the latest edition of the Australian compilation series, So Fresh (Winter 2020 edition). Hopefully it will still be up for NOW 107 later this year. Also surprised that DaBaby's number one song "Rockstar" is omitted in NOW 106, given that he has appeared in the US NOW albums - NOW 72 with "Suge" and a double appearance on NOW 74 with his solo track "Bop" and his collaboration with Camila Cabello, "My Oh My" (the latter, of course, is also quite a miss for NOW 106). Fingers crossed now for what's in store in the stateside NOW 75...

It was a quarter to 2 in the morning from where I come from when the track list was revealed, and it's now past 3am here as I submit this. Here is my first outlook on NOW 106: So, they added one more track in there. I honestly thought that with the initial announcement of only 40 songs, they would bring back the bonus throwback songs (in this case, the ones from NOW 6). NOW 106 is going to be the first NOW album to contain only 41 songs in total since NOW 49 (2001), which was also a July release - a full 19 years! Only three songs I heard from among 'em: "Break My Heart" (which is one of my faves right now), "death bed", and "If the World Was Ending". I know of the Gerry and the Pacemakers version of "You'll Never Walk Alone", but I am yet to hear the NHS charity single version that's featured here. Also, only two number-one songs (so far, at least): "Savage Love" and "You'll Never Walk Alone" (did y'all notice it was from end to end, too?). I think the 21-20 layout presented by lewistgreen will be most likely here - it's going to be first time that a disc has 21 current chart hits since CD 1 of NOW 96 (2017) - not counting the second discs of both NOW 100 (2018) and NOW 102 (2019) that contained throwbacks - and the first time that a disc has only 20 songs since CD 2 of NOW 69 (2008 - 12 years on!). (Erratum: In my first publication of this post, I erroneously said that CD 1 of NOW 58 from 2004 was the last instance of this.) I put all songs on a Spotify playlist. If the 21-20 layout will be followed, and the full album versions of "If You're Too Shy" and "Save a Kiss" will be included, then both CDs will just be over an hour in total each (to be precise: 1:05:04 for CD 1, and 1:06:23 for CD 2), the first time the CDs are under 70 minutes in length since NOW 69 (its aforementioned CD 2 has... well, 1:09:32 in total. Coincidence?). It's kind of a shock change for most, if not all of us NOW fans, as we usually see the albums packed with tracks, and if it's not the case, the songs are long enough for the CD to be filled to capacity. P.S. Allow me to correct myself in one of my earlier posts. Before "Thank You Baked Potato" from NOW 105, the previous record-holder for the shortest song on a NOW album isn't Lil Nas X's "Panini" from NOW 104. It was actually Himesh Patel's cover of "Yesterday" by The Beatles from NOW 103, and from the 2019 Beatles-inspired movie of the same name, after the compilers made the bright idea of putting the 90-second version of the song (1:33 to be precise) instead of the full 2-minute one (aka the "One Man Only" album version); well, to be fair, the shorter version was the one that fit the maximum CD capacity.

So, the UK NOW team responded to their mates in the US by immediately releasing NOW 105's track list a day after the US NOW 74, and a week earlier than I expected. It's become the first all-chart hits NOW album since NOW 101 (2018), and the first 46-track NOW since NOW 102 (2019). I just put all NOW 105 songs in a Spotify playlist, and my prediction is that the distribution will be 24-22. The total running time of both discs, will be roughly the following: CD 1: 24 tracks (i.e. from "Blinding Lights" to "Rain") Total running time: 1:17:10 (2:47 remaining space) CD 2: 22 tracks (i.e. from "everything i wanted" to "Thank You Baked Potato") Total running time: 1:14:13 (5:44 remaining space) So yes, there is still some space for about 1 song on CD 1, and 1 or 2 songs on CD 2. But based on this, the distribution could also be 23-23 (i.e. "Rain" will start Disc 2), just like NOW 101. Who knows? On first glance, it appears that NOW 105 was indeed fit for its original release date of 03 April 2020, given that some of the latest songs in here were released in late March (e.g. Little Mix's "Break Up Song"). Well, the NOW team sometimes gets the rights in advance to some songs which are yet to be released, but they know will chart well, for inclusion in the NOW albums. Take NOW 104 (2019), for instance, which was the last time this happened. The song "We Got Love" by Sigala and Ella Henderson wasn't released yet when it was announced as part of NOW 104's track list; it was only out the week before 104's release. That is, until some of you have pointed out the last-minute addition of the Matt Lucas NHS charity single, which was only released on the aforementioned date. Sure enough, they couldn't get the rights to it immediately enough had 105 been released this month, even if Mr Lucas announced his song's release date the week prior, given that it is for charity. I observed that charity singles tend to be left out the NOW albums for quite a while before placing it in one to serve its purpose: to have the profits from the song's purchase being donated to charity. Speaking of Ella Henderson, my most favourite track in 105's tracklist is her collab with Jax Jones, "This is Real". I fell in love with "This is Real" when it first came out late last year. Or maybe because I own her first (and so far, only) album on CD? Oh, and HospitalWard, you are quite right about the new record for shortest song in a numbered NOW album. But "Panini" was actually on 104. The Lil Nas X song on 103 was his massive chart-topper, "Old Town Road" feat. Billy Ray Cyrus, which also opened the album. Something to add: Shame there's also no 5SOS here (excuse my pun, if you know what I mean), but I do understand that despite the fact that their latest album "Calm" reached No. 1 in the UK, the album's singles didn't get a Top 40 placing, except for last year's "Easier", which was also featured on last year's NOW 103. Same goes for BTS, but I don't know if any songs from their UK No. 1 album "Map of the Soul: 7" charted that well anyway. About time we have the second Korean act on the NOW albums. (Remember PSY? He was on NOW 83 and 85 with "Gangnam Style" and "Gentleman", respectively.)

Pardon my mistake. While its cover art is quite colourful, I kinda find NOW 71 forgettable, but I admit, it does have some great tunes at the time of its release that matches its attractive cover art. I even said this when I posted its track list in Buzzjack's NOW 4.0 forum.

The UK NOW team's just confirmed the 8 May 2020 release date of NOW 105, making it the first numbered UK NOW album to be released in the month of May. @1250106725748953095 Track list not out yet, though. Fingers crossed.

Like most of us here, I am personally saddened by the postponement of the release of NOW 105 and the re-release of NOW 5 because of the current global health issue, and its effect on the entertainment industry. If its new release date of Friday, 08 May 2020, is confirmed, it will be the first numbered UK NOW album to be released in the month of May. NOW 105's track list will probably be available by next week, which is two weeks before its release. I do agree with what awardinlockdown stated about making NOW 105 a digital-only release for the time being, with the CD release coming later. Though I have to admit, gavindeejay's point (i.e. the NOW team still relying on physical sales for the NOW albums) is also valid. Unpopular opinion: I think it's high time (for hypersonic missiles? :P) for them to go with 17 or 18 main tracks (or more, perhaps?), and maybe reserve 3 or more songs for the What's Next section, especially if songs nowadays remain very short. They could even model the 24 or 25-track discs that the UK NOWs are currently experimenting! :lol: Seven of the songs here, including the What's Next track "LALALA", were previously included in UK's NOW 104 (2019). Oh, and the ever-so elusive T-Swift is back with her sophomore single from her latest album in here - very nice of that! Sad they skipped over "ME!" (feat. P!ATD's Brendon Urie), which was Lover's lead single, in the same manner as skipping reputation's lead single "Look What You Made Me Do", in the US (and even UK) NOWs, getting its follow-up single, "...Ready for It?", instead. I personally prefer "Only Human" to "Cool" from the JoBros, so nice inclusion, too. Not particularly liking Post Malone's "Goodbyes", but an okay inclusion nonetheless. Same goes with the only, and perhaps compulsory, (pseudo-)country track, "One Thing Right". I've observed that the album's quite urban-heavy, too. I also have a particular liking for Sam Smith's "How Do You Sleep?" as well as the debut single from Fifth Harmony's Normani (finally, after lots of featured appearances), though I haven't really heard of "Motivation" in full yet - I just heard it partially in a fan-made mashup with Kelly Rowland's song of the same name from 2011, after Normani's song reminded me of Kelly's. Surprised to see P!ATD's "Hey Look Ma, I Made It" in here, considering that it's a year old now, from their 2018 album Pray for the Wicked. Glad they made it (no pun intended) in what I believe is their first-ever appearance in a numbered US NOW album, which is in my opinion a long time coming after a remarkably long career over the past decade or so. It's sad, though, that they skipped on "High Hopes" (which I loooove so much), where its appearance in UK's NOW 101 (2018) is also their first UK NOW appearance. The rest, well, I am yet to hear them. Yet again, I do not know more than half of the songs here, including all of this album's What's Next lineup. What do y'all think? ^_^

Attention everyone: NOW 104's front cover art and release date has just been revealed. It is set for release on Friday, 08 November 2019, just about 5 weeks from today. Personal note: Quite surprising to be an early November release, considering that historically, the last numbered NOW of the year is usually released on the 3rd or 4th Friday (or back in the day, Monday) of November. And the cover art... it's "made of gold". :lol:

So, I've put them all up on Spotify, and when added up, its total run time is just over 64 minutes long, which leaves a massive 15-minute blank space (!), considering the likes of several songs that run below three minutes. If you'll notice, majority of the songs here (12, to be precise) have already appeared in the UK NOWs: six from the upcoming NOW 103, five from NOW 102 (including the What's Next track "Lost without You"), and one from NOW 101 (2018) - "Be Alright" by Dean Lewis. From the outset, it's a decent, but fun selection. Thing is, I haven't heard the other songs here yet, except for "Wow." (the solo version, that is), "Call You Mine", and "Speechless", with the latter being quite a big radio hit in my country, the Philippines, for quite some time now. Khalid's "Talk" is also a big radio hit here (and a sleeper hit as well, I guess). I can also see that the US guys are feeling the love for Lewis Capaldi, too. Speaking of "Speechless", it's a shame they didn't get the new version featuring Tori Kelly, or even the the new remixes of "Old Town Road" (featuring more urban artists) and "bad guy" (featuring Justin Bieber), similar to how they included the remix of "Wow.". Well, perhaps, the ones included in the album are the more popular versions at the moment. Welp, no T-Swift, Ed Sheeran and the likes. Hi Hadji, may I know where you found the track times? I just found it quite surprising that they chose to get the 90-second version, which is quite short in my opinion, as opposed to the full 2-minute version.

Thanks for the suggestion, Hadji. If that happens, CD 2's total time would just be 1:17:07. Depending on the circumstances, this will provide a chance, albeit slim, that Shawn & Camila's "Señorita" could open up CD 2, making the distribution 25-23, as you earlier suggested. But if that happens, it will leave a gap of four minutes or so on the first CD, as it will only clock in just around 75 minutes in total. So, I am still seeing it as 26-22, but who knows?

That is highly likely, as it's the version that went to no. 1 in the UK, as well as the one that also opened NOW Summer Party 2019. :D

I have just put all the songs on a Spotify playlist, and here's what I found out.CD 1 could possibly have 26 (!) tracks (i.e. from "Old Town Road" to "Señorita"), as it clocks in for a total of 1:18:39. If that is so, it will beat the record for most songs in a CD of a numbered NOW album, currently being held by NOW 102's 25-track first disc. So that also means, Shawn Mendes could join the likes of Oasis (NOW 33, 1996), Katy Perry (NOW 71, 2008), The Saturdays (NOW 72, 2009), Wiley (NOW 83, 2012), Sigala (NOW 94, 2016), and Ariana Grande (NOW 102, 2019) that have both of their songs (as lead artist) on the same disc.Which leaves us with CD 2, with a generous 22 tracks (i.e. from "Hold Me While You Wait" to "I Won't Let the Sun Go Down on Me"), for a total running time of 1:18:25. Well, it makes sense, because the album's second half houses the songs that are 4 minutes or longer in length, without the need of using edits. This also takes into account the 2:11 version of "Yesterday", in contrast to the 90-second one that is the opener to the movie soundtrack. Poor Lewis Capaldi. If what I predicted is true, he'll start out CD 2 again, just like in NOW 102. Lighthouse Family? First impression of #NOW103 track list: No T-Swift (either "ME!" or "You Need to Calm Down"). Ed Sheeran is there, but again, not his no. 1 single, "I Don't Care (feat. Justin Bieber)", similar to how his no. 1's from the "Divide" album, "Shape of You" and "Perfect" didn't make it. Alexandra Burke much? Speaking of, love that they have another movie vibe for the album just like NOW 102, as apart from the aforementioned 2 "Rocketman" appearances, there's also the cover of The Beatles' "Yesterday" from the film of the same name, sung by its lead actor Himesh Patel (when I looked at the trailer, I thought it was Dev Patel of "Slumdog Millionaire" fame!
