2: Rina Sawayama - Frankenstein Single from “Hold The Girl” Lyric: "opened up my problems, watch that poison blossom" hP7ttJ4UAFc The definition of an INCREDIBLE pop song and the absolute highlight from Rina Sawayama’s sophomore album just misses out on my #1 spot.

3: Taylor Swift - The Great War Album track from “Midnights” Lyric: "diesel is desire, you were playing with fire" iFX6_9h7th0 This song EXCELS on lyrical content. It’s become a firm favourite in Taylor’s discography for me and feels so underrated in the context of the album. Strongly deserving of my 3rd favourite song of the year :wub:

This is SO good :cheeseblock: I already love it more than any of the singles she released last year tbh!

This is such a strong album! :wub: wouldn’t skip one song tbh. My highlights from the ones we haven’t heard yet were Get Outta My Heart, Sleepwalker, Cold As Ice and Ghost. Least favourite on first listen was probably Turn Off The Lights but still enjoyed it. The overall quality of the album makes the single choices even more baffling though. None of them are bad songs but Cold As Ice, Ghost, Sleepwalker and Get Outta My Heart were RIGHT THERE :drama:

4: Taylor Swift - Anti-Hero Single from “Midnights” Lyric: “when my depression works the graveyard shift, all of the people I've ghosted stand there in the room" b1kbLwvqugk Another song that I loved from first listen and it’s only grown since. It’s been so amazing to see this song smash and completely deserved - the PERFECT choice of lead single :wub:

5: Em Beihold - Numb Little Bug Single Lyric: “like you have empathy inside but you don’t really care" 1fwJ8H5wWCU I’d never heard of Em Beihold before, but loved this song as soon as I heard it on the radio the first time. It was another one of my most played songs in 2022, a catchy and addictive song while also dealing with its subject perfectly imo!

6: Harry Styles - Little Freak Album track from “Harry’s House” Lyric: "jumped in feet first, and I landed too hard" hJpvI3w3tDc 
“Little Freak” is an stunning album track and my absolute favourite from Harry’s House. Such an underrated gem! :heart:

High Infidelity deserved better :cry: Bejeweled and Vigilante Shit for me now noooo my two faves on the album :o

Such an addictive bop that was actually my most played song of 2022. It’s easily my favourite of the pre-release singles far and I’m perched to hear the album :wub:

9: The Weeknd - Less Than Zero Album track from “Dawn FM” Lyric:"I couldn't save you from my darkest truth of all" UKunvvN2iCk My absolute highlight from “Dawn FM” also makes the top 10. The single that should have been! :wub:

10: Taylor Swift - Maroon Album track from “Midnights” Lyric: “the rust that grew between telephones" lvHZjvIyqsk Another stunning album track from Midnights is the first of Taylor's 4 songs to make my top 10 <3

11: Rina Sawayama - Holy (Til You Let Me Go) Album track from “Hold The Girl” Lyric: “i took your stones and I built a cathedral" RL5BipQ7Yao Another absolute gem from Rina’s sophomore album ‘Hold The Girl’ just misses out on my Top 10.

12: Griff & Sigrid - Head On Fire Single Lyric: “i think i’ve lost my senses" paBBNBlffR4 Another much anticipated collaboration as soon as it was announced and this one definitely didn’t disappoint. Such a good pop song that deserved so much better :wub:

I must admit I’m not familiar with a lot of these songs but I’ve just given “Smiling All The Way Back Home” a listen and it’s stunning! I really like the sound of “The Weatherman" too :wub:

13: Shawn Mendes - When You’re Gone Single Lyric: ""you never know how good you have it until you're staring at a picture of the only girl that matters"" tp4fUH2E8uc I’ve always found Shawn’s music to be a bit hit-or-miss for me, but “When You’re Gone” was a true return to form! <3

14: Taylor Swift - You’re On Your Own, Kid Album track from “Midnights” Lyric: "everything you lose is a step you take" 7Gbg6Z70J7E Another absolute highlight from Midnights makes the top 15. The lyrics throughout are the highlight of the song for me, as well as the incredible bridge :wub:

15: Charli XCX feat. Rina Sawayama - Beg For You Single from “CRASH” Lyric: "you're like an ocean breeze, coming and going just as you please" hw_Gtwdnp1Q I was HYPED for this one as soon as it was announced. Despite being a little underwhelmed on first listen, it's so undeniably catchy that after a LOT of listens in 2022, it has grown to be one of my favourites of the year! :dance:

17: Sabrina Carpenter - Vicious Single from “emails i can’t send” Lyric: "should have known all along, i was only the next one to take your love songs as a promise" cZg3t5Nu1Lo Next is “Vicious”, my favourite track from Sabrina’s latest album ‘emails i can’t send’ - it’s absolutely stunning and the BRIDGE :cheeseblock:
