Surely nobody can dislike the legendary Icelandic post-rock gods? I put their '( )' album on any time I'm wound up and the stress just goes. Their new album is a bit more rousing... they're just genius. I think, though, my favourite thing from them is probably the 'Ba Ba Ti Ki Di Do' EP... it makes my spine go all funny.

Seriously, I think the new b-side 'Call To Arms' might be the best thing they've done so far. Well... maybe that's a bit extreme but it is bloody good. I got the 9-track version of the EP from their American record label, cost about £9.30 including postage. Well worth it.

Can't be bothered with the full spiel, but suffice to say that I'm thinking 'Grand Unification' will be THE album of 2006.

Hmm... that reminds me.

The first album was loads better, they'll never beat 'One More Sad Song'. Saw them live at V in 2004, they were good. Heard them from my tent at Reading last year, heh.

Aye, the last album was a bit of a weird one... took me ages to get into it, their stuff is usually pretty instant for me. Even the weird stuff.

The second album was a bit light on quality, maybe explains why they got binned. But yeah, the new single, 'Kill Your Own' (also the title of the album) is worth looking out for.
