    Yep, I'll go wi' that.
  2. I look at it more as being astute enough to do something that, although potentially ruinous to his credibility, would get him a leg-up in the industry. But yeah. ;) Given that he was playing the toilet circuit with Fightstar long before Busted finished, I don't see how he can be accused of bandwagon jumping. Look, I'm not some stupid little kid that can easily be patronised, I do rather know what I'm talking about. But regardless of any of that, it doesn't really matter, since nobody's proclaimed it to be the most original or credible thing in the world, all we've said is that we like it. Whether or not you like it is up to you, but I don't see why we shouldn't be allowed to.
  3. I won't be bothering to see them on this tour... don't think I could get there anyway. But I've already got my V Festival ticket so it's all good.
  4. Yay.
  5. I didn't say they're nowhere near the standard of Nirvana and Ash, I said they're nowhere near the sound of Nirvana and Ash. I might be wrong, but I think if you look at it historically, Charlie was in Fightstar and similar bands before he started in Busted - it's much more his thing than Busted ever was, and so I don't see how he can be accused of 'crossing over' now, surely he did that when he joined Busted? And, well, I don't think they're all that interested in credibility, they're just another band putting out their music to people who want it, I don't see what the problem is with that. Oh, and... no, I really doubt that's the sound he was after, it's quite obvious (to me at least) that he was after the sound of the sort of post-hardcore bands he's a massive fan of. I think he's pulled that off brilliantly.
  6. I wasn't necessarily referring to you with the 'smug elitist' comment, but never mind. So in response to your previous questions/statements/etc... people are praising them because they like them, it really doesn't matter whether or not they're 'credible' or whether the 'real' magazines are interested in them, it doesn't matter whether they're 'grunge-lite' (which, last time I checked they're nowhere near) or Ash/Nirvana copyists (which again, they're nowhere near) - I like it, other people like it, so there must be some merit to it. Everyone's entitled to their opinions, yada yada, everyone goes home happy.

    Job's a good 'un.

Heh, I thought it was a perfect ending, with the choral bit fading out... ya.

She's so not my kind of thing, but I love the cover she just did.
  11. Yeah, go for it mate. ;)
  12. Hee, taaaaaa. It's still my mission. Even when I get my emo forum. ;)
  13. I really couldn't decide... too many classics. I suppose it should be 'Country House' or something from that era, though I really love 'Out Of Time'.
  14. I like.

The last track should've been released... that was awesome. Except I can't remember what it was called.
  16. I was a bit sceptical when I first heard (way back before Busted split) that he was in what was supposed to be a 'proper' band, but that was all blown away when I actually heard them. I dunno, maybe I'm just more inclined to focus on the music rather than who's doing it or how credible it is among smug elitists.
  17. Judging by the leaked copies floating around the internet, Morrissey's new album sounds absolutely fantastic. That's a definite for my shopping list. (It would've been anyway if I hadn't already heard it, but that's not the point.) Other than that... new Radiohead is always welcome. Perhaps something listenable from The White Stripes, if Jack can stop faffing around with The Raconteurs for a few minutes.

I think you can blame 'My Immortal' for most people's preconceptions - it seemed to be inescapable and was, as far as I could tell, the worst track on the album by a hell of a long way. That said, all this talk of them has made me want to dig the album out. Bet I can't find it.
  19. Hah, cheers dude. ;)

The first album had its strong moments but unfortunately everyone seems to be stuck on 'My Immortal', which I thought was dire.
  21. I must admit I haven't heard either fella's solo stuff, but I'm not keen on Nicky Wire as part of the band, so I don't hold out much hope for him solo. James Dean Bradfield is playing at V, I'll probably check him out if there's nothing else on at the time.
  22. Heh, further proof that James Blunt is a penis.

I'm not bothered about it being alphabetised, but I think Blur should logically come first, since they, um, came first.
  24. Hardly, dear. I said rock, not $h!t.
  25. I reckon it's the year of Silver Sun... (um, ya.) No, seriously, it's probably gonna be a good one for Dirty Pretty Things, which is a shame because they're a bit shonky.
