The Top 100 Albums of the Decade
Rage Against The Machine - Renegades http://i27.tinypic.com/2119myw.jpg Favourite Tracks :: I'm Housin', How I Could Just Kill A Man, Pistol Grip Pump, Renegades of Funk, Maggie's Farm, The Ghost of Tom Joad One of my all-time favourite artists now with their last album. Released after Zack De La Rocha had left the band but still using his vocals, it is a covers album. That puts it lightly, it is the single greatest collection of covers ever, if you didn't know the original songs you wouldn't know they were covers because Rage make every song their own. Their unique style shines through in the record producing some truly astonishing moments, it may not be their best album but that just shows the quality of the band. Absolutely fecking awesome. Live=as good, maybe better with these guys so here is " I'm housin' " live. MIeQi5LH54g

Radiohead - In Rainbows http://futpopclube.files.wordpress.com/2009/03/200px-in_rainbows_official_cover.jpg Favourite Tracks :: Jigsaw Falling Into Place, Bodysnatchers, Faust Arp, Videotape, Last Flowers Radiohead returned to their best with this album after the somewhat disappointing Hail To The Thief. It really is a stunning record and I was obsessed with it for a while, I purchased the deluxe edition and the second disc was also amazing and included the brillaint 'Last Flowers'. It is another of those albums with a feel to it that I can't put my finger on. They range from their most tender yet, to full on rocking out and succeed at both ends of the spectrum. 'Videotape' live, stunning -kCKob1YKOU

Reuben - Racecar Is Racecar Backwards http://covers.mp3panda.com:8080/covers/13/13754/alb_155252_big.jpg Favourite Tracks :: Stuck In My Throat, Our Song, Let's Stop Hanging Out, Missing Fingers Daaaaamn. Mmmm Hmmm. It's motherfudging Reuben with their best album, 16 songs of pure awesomeness packed into one record. 'Stuck In My Throat' is my favourite song by them, see it below. This album has been a favourite of mine for a long time, I love the title and artwork aswell, the whole package is amazing and Jamie Lenman is a genius. Watch the fudging video guyz. YE8a1C6Oyss

Incubus - Morning View http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_jvGMdu6_Edg/SRicXeYuK7I/AAAAAAAAAwQ/NSLp6FzvU3g/s320/200px-Incubus_-_Morning_View.jpg Favourite Tracks :: Nice To know You, Wish You Were Here, Just A Phase, Have You Ever Incubus's only entry then as their strongest album and third strongest came in the 90s. This was the first step away from that type of material however, no DJing to be found on this record but it works and while not living up to S.C.I.E.N.C.E. it remains my second favourite album of theirs. I would urge anyone to listen to this. Below is 'Wish You Were Here' AtB-YN03XDg

The Postal Service - Give Up http://www.afterbang.co.uk/music/give_up.jpg Favourite Tracks :: The District Sleeps Alone Tonight, Such Great Heights, Recycled Air, Brand New Colony As Mark simply put it, the best band to only ever have one album. It is a shame that there are no plans to do another album but maybe it's for the best as it may tarnish this first effort, and what a first effort it is. Every thing went right with this album, from Gibbard's distinctive vocals, Tamborello's brillaint electronic soundtrack to Jenny Lewis's backing vocals. It is a shame they ahve been royally ripped off by a certain artist around at the moment, but the people in the know, know who the real geniuses are. hMOkfI7wCrI

Brand New - Deja Entendu http://www.interpunk.com/itemimages2/27413.jpg Favourite Tracks :: Tautou, Okay I Believe You But My Tommy Gun Don't, The Quiet Things That No One Ever Knows, The Boy Who Blocked His Own Shot Brand New's much adored second album then now, they really took a step away from their first with this album and it garnered a sublime record. This is perhaps their most popular album and it is easy to see why, as it is the mid-ground between their first and third in that it has a sense of musical accomplishment combined with catchy hooks and Jesse's famous lyrics. I'm not sure qhich song to show you but I've gone for one of the more commercial ones on the album 'The Quiet Things That No One Ever Knows'. aMJIc9USE2U

Metric - Old World Underground, Where Are You Now? http://www.afterbang.co.uk/music/old_world.jpg Favourite Tracks :: Combat Baby, The List, Dead Disco, Calculation Theme Now comes the highest entry from Metric, with their first album. It is their finest work to date despite a strong challenge from Fantasies, it has some of their best faster songs in 'Combat Baby', 'Dead Disco' and 'The List' as well as slower numbers such as 'On A Slow Night' and 'Calculation Theme'. It all fits together perfectly to make it a joyful experience, I think Emily's vocals have improved over the years but she is still sounding fantastic here and this is when the rest of the band were at their best. I give you 'Dead Disco' cEsr5Mm3JfE

Bon Iver - For Emma, Forever Ago http://yourfavoriteredheadwendy.files.wordpress.com/2008/09/200px-bon_iver_album_cover.jpg Favourite Tracks :: Skinny Love, Re: Stacks, Blindsided, Flume Bon Iver's ciritically acclaimed debut finds it way to #17 now, this has been an album that I've never really stopped listening to since it came out (moderately mind you) and it has just continued to grow and grow and grow. I can only describe it as magical, the whole feel of this record is amazing, the story has been told over and over about how he made it, but whatever he did paid off. Skinny Love is probably my favourite from the album but I'm choosing to show you the also amazing Re: Stacks. ePatJIwB-sI

Deftones - Saturday Night Wrist http://www.cinemablend.com/images/sections/1471/1471.jpg Favourite Tracks :: Hole In The Earth, Rats! Rats! Rats!, Rapture, Cherry Waves I've always liked Deftones a fair amount, this album would have appeared a little bit lower on the countdown, but I had not listened to them as much as other bands I liked for whatever reason. Recently however they have really clicked with me and gone up to a whole new level in my opinions. Saturday Night Wrist their most recent album, before Chi Cheng's car accident that led to him being comatosed, and is a fantastic record with only one weakness which is 'Pink Cellphone'. This does nothing to detract form the album though in my opinion as the rest is Deftones at their best. The amazing 'Hole In The Earth' below for your viewing pleasure, my favourite track. 0qdhbfGbNdM

Muse - Origin of Symmetry http://www.mediadis.com/pictures/big/165476.jpg Favourite Tracks :: New Born, Plug In Baby, Feeling Good, Bliss, Citizen Erased Now onto Muse with what was my favourite album of theirs for a long time however it has slipped in the last couple of years. While The Resistance shows them at their most poppy, this album by contrast is their least, with fierce sounding guitars and Bellamy's vocals at their best it is an awesome record. 'New Born' is maybe my favourite off of the album, but it's a close call, it's a 6-minute epic that showcases everything Muse have to offer. y3w4oKG8-kc
