The Top 100 Albums of the Decade
20| Circa Survive - Juturna http://www.punknews.org/images/covers/circa_survive-juturna.jpg Favourite Tracks :: Act Apalled, Holding Someone's Hair Back, In Fear and Faith, The Great Golden Baby Circa Survive with their debut now, a truly magnificent record that has one significant draw, Anthony Green's vocals. They may not be to everyone's taste but I love them. This album was the soundtrack to a large part of 2006, after coming out in 2005, for me. Another fun fact for y'all is that 'Act Apalled' was my top played track on last.fm before I reset. I'll let the music do the talking yeh? Act Apalled official video below. uRuRYqzOaVI

The Top 100 Albums of the Decade
25 | Explosions In The Sky - The Earth Is Not A Cold Dead Place http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/BELLACD55.JPG Favourite Tracks :: First Breath After Coma, The Only Moment We Were Alone, Your Hand In Mine Instrumental music at it's best, this is truly astonishing stuff. It's only 5-tracks, the shortest being 8:17, so I don't listen as much as I should. It makes me feel like everything is ok in the world, the sheer cinematic grandioseness of it all. Perfect for journeys. 24 | System Of A Down - Toxicity http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/5015342.JPG Favourite Tracks :: Prison Song, Chop Suey!, Toxicity, Needles System Of A Down's defining work now and a soundtrack to my youth, the sheer pace of this record, perfectly held together by Serj's characteristic vocals is a marvel. I've loved this record for years and go through little spells of listening to it fairly often even now, their later double-album thing had some gems but nothing that could come anywhere near this. 23 | Manchester Orchestra - I'm Like A Virgin Losing A Child http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/88697126482.JPG Favourite Tracks :: Wolves At Night, Now That You're Home, Alice and Interiors, Colly Strings I discovered this in late 2006 and it's one of the best discoveries I've made, I was obsessed with this album for a long time and I still hold it in very high regard as you can see. The album flows from quiet odes to barnstorming tracks, while not reaching the ferocity of their second effort it never felt like it needed to go that far. They have been supporting many people including Brand New and more recently Biffy Clyro so I'm hoping they get bigger. 22 | Yourcodenameis:milo - Ignoto http://images.musicnet.com/albums/005/377/257/c.jpeg Favourite Tracks :: I Am Connecting Flight, 17, Titan Grip, Rapt. Dept. Amazing album from an amazing band, 'I Am Connecting Flight' is a fantastic opener and probably my favourite thing they've ever done and that continues with the next three tracks which are all brilliant, I think the first half is stronger than the second but there really are no weak tracks. A must-listen for any fans of this genre, I am still sad they are no more. 21 | Thrice - The Alchemy Index Vols. I - II: Fire & Water http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/VRUK063CD.JPG Favourite Tracks :: Open Water, Firebreather, Burn The Fleet, Digital Sea I mentioned that Thrice were a hit and miss band for me in their previous entry and this can be summed up perfectly in this project. 'The Alchemy Index' comprised of two albums each containing 6 tracks from two elements. This was the first 'Fire & Water' and it is a marvel, the first half being a rip-roaring, blazing power fest and it is awesome, the second half is then in contrast a serene and beautiful experience. I still can't decide which half is better, oh and in case you were wondering about the second album 'Air & Earth', it isn't very good. w0o8JCxjjpM ZzX-fkAtIQ0

The Top 100 Albums of the Decade
30 | Portishead - Third http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/PRERELPORTIS.JPG Favourite Tracks :: The Rip, We Carry On, Nylon Smile, Hunter I had paid no attention to Portishead before this album, it is stunning and I love the whole sound of it especially the amazing vocals. 'The Rip' is my favourite, just beautiful. Since then I have investigated their back catalogue and it really is very strong indeed. 29 | Arcade Fire - Funeral http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/RTRADCD219.JPG Favourite Tracks :: Rebellion (Lies), Wake Up, Neighborhood #2 (Laïka), In the Backseat The much lauded 'Funeral' then makes a rather low appearance as t is used to being up in the top tens of best-of lists. It is a fantastic record there are no bad tracks, and it has a feel to it which the second lacked, I can't put my finger on exactly what is but it makes this record special, I was in love with it for a long time and still am. Still #29 is a fantastic position which it thoroughly deserves. This will prompt me to listen to it again. 28 | Metric - Fantasies http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/MET80019.JPG Favourite Tracks :: Waves, Gimme Sympathy, Collect Call, Twilight Galaxy This year's highest entry then and it comes from Metric, towards the end of 2008 and at the start of 2009 I was literally obsessed with all things Metric, this menat I was amazingly hyped up for this album and when it came it succeeded in the marvellous task of NOT disappointing me. That's why it deserves it's position this high up, some beautiful tracks but a shame the best song is a bonus track when you ordered the special version, 'Waves' is amazing and need to be listened to. 27 | Emily Haines & The Soft Skeleton - Knives Don't Have Your Back http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/DIS0026.JPG Favourite Tracks :: Winning, Our Hell, Doctor Blind, Crowd Surf Off A Cliff The wonderful Emily Haines does it again, this time with her far more sombre, downright sad, solo work. It took a LONG time for this to click, I think it was because I was used to the upbeat nature of Metric and I couldn't listen to this all the way through, anyway it finally did earlier this year and it is a truly magical piece of work. I love piano. 26 | The Mars Volta - Frances The Mute http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/2103977.JPG Favourite Tracks :: The Widow, Cassandra Geminni: Tarantism, L' Via l'Viaquez, Miranda That Ghost Just Isn't Holy Anymore: Pour Another Icepick From the ashes of At the Drive-In came, most notably, The Mars Volta. A far more experimental outfit with some tremendously long songs, I heard them before AtD-I and fell in lvoe with them for about a year with some non-stop playing going on. The songs could easily have devolved into a mess, but they didn't and they drag you into a bizarre world created by the band. Amazing stuff. NNfWC4Sgkcs LqldwoDXHKg

039 Coldplay 'Shiver' - Brilliant, one of the best on my favourite album of theirs. 037 Maximo Park 'Apply Some Pressure' - Favourite single of theirs, wicked. 035 Blink-182 'Adam's Song' - Very good, I'm only into a few blink singles and this is one. 034 The Pipettes 'Pull Shapes' - Pop at it's very best. 032 The Pains of Being Pure at Heart 'Young Adult Friction' - Very good, prefer 'Contender' though.

The Top 100 Albums of the Decade
Hope you complete a chart. 77 | 'Tribute' is amazing yes, they are like Linkin Park in that everyone loved them in our youth. 70 | 'Funeral' is coming up yes, but WHERE oooo. 64 | The coolest guy on earth! After Zack De La Rocha of course :P 62 | You have many more albums and different styles to choose from I suppose, depends what number you do but I'd expect a low down appearance maybe? 56 | Lolz indeed. 55 | Best band in the world :o BIG words. 53 | Frank :) Can't wait until March. 50 | Hope so too, then we can go see them again. 44 | Same. 43 | It really does feel like a winter album to me. 41 | Yeh excellent live, shame they split, and 9 of course! 39 | I know, I don't think I know anyone who didn't have it, except for Nath of course. 35 | The opening bit makes the song tbh mate -_- . 33 | LISTEN TO REUBEN. 32| Thanks, I was pleased with it.

Thanks for the comment Chris, I don't really like AWitC it has a few good songs but that's it. I also have to voice my hate for Universal Music, why disable embedding on all your videos? A number of other official videos from artists and labels don't do it. Friggin cocks.

The Top 100 Albums of the Decade
35 | Metric - Live It Out http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/DIS0020.JPG Favourite Tracks :: Poster Of A Girl, Live It Out, Monster Hospital I didn't appreciate this album as much as I do now for a long time, I used to think it was by far their weakest but it now stands up to their other work and is better than GU&BA for me. It has some great tracks and I'm surprised Monster Hospital didn't make the band that much bigger, as Fantasies has now done. Emily Haines can do no wrong. 34 | Bloc Party - Intimacy http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/WEBB185CDLI.JPG Favourite Tracks :: Ion Square, Ares, Talons, Your Visits Are Getting Shorter Bloc Party's much discussed third album now then, miles better than the 2nd in my opinion and a truly great piece of work. Their new direction may have lost them some fans but I am enjoying it and I hope I get to see another album by them. Ion Square is a 6 minute long masterpiece, love it. 33 | Reuben - In Nothing We Trust http://i110.photobucket.com/albums/n99/ashford57/innothingwetrust.jpg Favourite Tracks :: Good Luck, An Act Of Kindness, Agony/Agatha, Blood Bunny Larkhall I f***ing love Reuben, they make me wanna f***ing swear, their second album wasn't that great but this third and final album by the three-piece made up for that as it is awesome. The best track on it surprisingly is the more low-key, acoustic 'Good Luck' which is sublime. Packed with great sing-alongs and just pure kickassism it truly deserves it's place this high. 32 | Brand New - Daisy http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/BRANDDAISY.JPG Favourite Tracks :: Vices, In A Jar, Daisy, Noro An album from this year makes it to the heady heights of #32, Brand New returned this year which I was like totally super excited about you guyz, anyway they returned with 'Daisy'. When I saw the title I was abit like o_o and the intro to Vices played and I was like "what is this bull?" and then it kicked in and I was like "YEH! MOTHERFUKKIN HARDCORE!!". The End. 31 | Radiohead - Amnesiac http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/697105.JPG Favourite Tracks :: Packt Like Sardines In A Crushd Tin Box, Pyramid Song, You and Whose Army?, I Might Be Wrong Radiohead's alternative Kid A then next, it is awesome and has a couple of their best songs in my opinion, can't think of what to say now but it is really good trust me. Oh my favourite track is 'Packt Like Sardines In A Crushd Tin Box' glitchy awesomeness that only Radiohead can deliver. AWq9Y6o2UOw 2Mc6JKM_YkQ

The Top 100 Albums of the Decade
Shame you can't listen to them, they're still fantastic. I think it may be a bit of nostalgia for Hybrid Theory, not sure what would happen if it were released now. Couldn't find a Leeds video as good as that one so it had to be Reading :(

The Top 100 Albums of the Decade
40 | Biffy Clyro - Infinity Land http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/BBQCD238.JPG Favourite Tracks :: Glitter and Trauma, There's No Such Thing As A Jaggy Snake, My Recovery Injection My Favourite Biffy Clyro album then makes the top 40, 'Glitter and Trauma' may be the best thing they've ever done and this album is fantastic from start to finish. It loses none of the energy of Vertigo of Bliss and adds something extra. This is perhaps their happy medium as it combines the passion, musicianship and non-cheesiness of their earlier albums and combines it with a slightly poppier edge in parts. 39 | Linkin Park - Hybrid Theory http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/9362477552.JPG Favourite Tracks :: One Step Closer, In The End, Papercut Now Linkin Park with an album of my past and the first album ever bought with my own money and it is a testament to it's quality that it still remains this high up in my opinions. The best thing they have ever done by some distance it has some quite simply badass moments like 'One Step Closer', he seems to get more angry with his vocals in this one which pays off and I still like the rapping bits. Too bad their new stuff is pure cheese. 38 | Los Campesinos! - We Are Beautiful, We Are Doomed http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/WEBB187CD.JPG Favourite Tracks :: Ways To Make It Through The Wall, We Are Beautiful We Are Doomed, You'll Need Those Fingers For Crossing Although I liked Los Campesinos! first album it seemed to be missing something for me, this album added that something and it was truly marvellous. This albums seems more passionate, frantic and rowdier. Shouting wins for this band and 'Ways To Make It Through The Wall' remains my favourite track by them. 37 | Frank Turner - Sleep Is For The Week http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/XMR004CD.JPG Favourite Tracks :: The Ballad Of Me And My Friends, The Real Damage, Father's Day Frank Turner's first album then becomes his 2nd entry in the chart, while it may not have the complete sing-along package in some songs taht he is famous for it remains an album that is personal, passionate and really showcases his songwriting ability. To see the different sides to this album you just need to listen to 'Father's Day', a song wrought with personal issues and emotion, then 'The Ballad Of Me And My Friends' for in fact one of his best sing-alongs. 36 | Yourcodenameis:milo - All Roads To Fault http://images.musicnet.com/albums/004/788/091/c.jpeg Favourite Tracks :: All Roads To Fault, The Problem, Lions Then The Donkeys Finally an entry from these guys, it may only be seven tracks long but boy does it pack a punch. Opener 'All Roads To Fault' is one of my favourite of theirs and should surely have been HUGE! They really were a truly remarkable band (last album didn't live up to the standards of the others unfortunately) but I was still gutted when they split. S0sYJSibVZ8 mZXpa3gNips

Biffy Clyro 'Only Revolutions' || 02-09-09
Yeh I heard the packaging was amazing for the collectors edition. Don't like the album unfortunately, only listened once but I seem to remember 'Bubbles' being awful, may have been the song after it though. There are some fairly decent poppy moments but that's not what I want from Biffy so even they leave me cold.

The Top 100 Albums of the Decade
Can't WAIT for your list. I love them as well, think News & Tributes is their worst but it's still really good and new album was great. I went to see them at the barfly when they were touring the new one, I could never have imagined seeing them in a small venue like that, great gig it was.

The Futureheads with their finest and a great indie record. Biffy Clyro were amazing as is being proved in this, their second entry. Stars also with their best, remarkable. Shoes and Socks Off this time with the same songs from his first album in the countdown but with a full band, even better. Colour, who have split up, released this which contains all of the work from their EPs fantastic stuff but a shame they're gone. Rx Bandits with the only slice of Ska on this list, they are fantastic chekc them out. 'Discovery' is a much lauded album and it really does deserve it, the top dance record for me. The Killers with their best album to date, soundtrack to my winter of 2006. Oceansize with an album thats shortest song is 6:42 but it is truly stunning. Finally Forward Russia appear again with their superior first album back when they still just numbered their songs. tcsjQ2ebsco ZnnqlHNpr6M

RabbitFurCoat's Top 100 ALBUMS OF THE DECADE
044 The Shins 'Turn on Me' 042 The Futureheads 'Hounds of Love' - Brilliance, one of the best covers ever.
