This is very good for GA. Congrats to them :) IMO, this single is not as good as previous ones, but they had huge exposure on X Factor so I am not surprised they are at the top. Their performance was nervous on the show, still it was miles better than the other week's 'artist'. :) What is the consensus, are they going to maintain the top spot or is there another release that can take over ?
  5. Erm, Leon Jackson 's single is sold , in an 'exclusive deal' at Woolworths. It's the only one stocked in Woolies, besides the other supermarkets. Maybe you'd have a bone with that fact - XF & his single gets unfair deals. :naughty: My shock is that single's poor sales. Considering he was the one who got so many votes. Even if I rate it poorly, I thought the XF machine, all the TV interviews and other marketing tactics that XF use will ensure that this week Leon Jackson has the top spot. All the other acts, including Geraldine (that appeared a day later, may I add) stand no chance of competing with XF , usually. Glad this time is different.
  6. Thank you. Exactly what I said, but in a longer post. If it wasn't so-and-so , it could have been another. Anyway, all this coulda' shoulda' woulda' will not get us anywhere. the week is not yet finished and The Saturdays might still pip the top spot. Peace! :)
  7. It could have happened differently, too. If 'Geraldine' didn't release - The Saturdays might have been no.2 due to other factors - PINK selling more, anohter new release Leon Jackson selling more etc. Would you have been happier if a poor vocalist and performer , as the X Factor winner is, would have topped The Saturdays? If he had more sales? I think not. How is he more credible? Is that XF dirge not released for a gullible audience , to help 'make his life better'? I think that was what he said he does the X Factor for , or for his mum. And we know for sure Simon will make the most , not even that guy's fans realise that :P My problem is: I love both TT and Saturdays - besides PINK- do I bash one for the benefit of the other? No. I'll try stay objective.

Not bad at all, not bad . :D Mucho appreciated. :) Katy deserves to be there with both . I just hope she gets to no 1 by next week. What's her biggest threat for next week's top spot ? ( I love Pink but I think So What stayed enough at the top and, even if she manages to run with this week, I can't see her staying there from next Monday).
  10. You're joking and I claim my £5. :naughty: Seriously...why wouldn't people buy ' because Gary Barlow co-wrote it'? Is that a stigma, somehow? I like the song, it's catchy and taking the mick of the reality show winners and their so-called winner songs, use of sob stories, minimal/dismal vocals and post-show success (excluding Will Young and Leona Lewis). As Norma said, I'd rather line Peter and Gary's pockets than Simon Cowell's. ^_^ Now that you mention it, I'll buy 3 'Geraldines' : one for Peter Kay's input, one for Gary B.'s input and one for the 'crippled pole dancers' charity. :yahoo: That should teach them! :D

Carefull what you reveal - me might use it against you! :P  Appreciating the 'number crunching'. May you do many for avid chart followers. :)

Three cheers for Geraldine's world domination ! :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: Question : Is PINK likely to maintain the top spot on Saturday/Sunday?? I wouldn't mind it at all , just curious. What would our predictors say? :)

Saw the flag. Don't ask more, I might manage a few more but my spelling is rubbish  :). Anyhooo.... Do we have any updates in sales, pls, ? :)

I thought that, too.At one point. I was talking with a mate and he was adamant that is just Peter Kay. Another, our 'engineer' :naughty: , kept badgering me with technical terms and explaining that Gary could have done this 'layer' , over which they've imposed Peter Kay's vocal. So I checked some sites and Youtube and everywhere there's disagreement about this, lol. Everyone has an opinion :I heard from 'it's Gary', 'it's Peter Kay', 'it's a duet' , 'over imposed', 'remix' to 'Macca&Gary' and so on.. My head's spinning... So, whichever way they did it, kudos to them - they managed to create a massive debate over how they achieved the vocals. :yahoo:

Excuses. :naughty: LOL, they are BOTH a NOVELTY , and they're both launched through a 'heavily promoted' TV show - and XF has bigger audience&promo&impact ... 12 mil viewed the Sat show, compared to Channel 4's 6 mil. Geraldine sells in Tesco & a few more, Leon -in Woolworths (they made an exception for him, no?), ASDA and Tesco etc. Only Leon has a 'unique deal' . The fun thing is that Geraldine's song takes the mickey of reality TV shows and their winners. It is ironic. :naughty: And as it stands , it could well be still PINK at the top, with either Geraldine or The Saturdays or Leon. Or it could be that KOL gets back up from physical sales. But I guess, if PINK ends up leading, some will say 'well she is an established artist'. If Geraldine takes the spot 'well, Peter Kay has fanbase'. Yeah, Leon is supposed to have a huge fanbase, he is 'hot' on the market , seeing as he just won last year, so he should sell more than any. Basically, whichever way it goes, someone will come with an explanation to defend his poor sales. :P ----- Anyway... ------ Any updates on Jordin Spark's placing, pls? ------- I'd say SASH ! will be on top 10 tonight.
  18. Use Dailymotion, as suggested above. Very reliable and the videos don't get (usually) deleted. Also, you can have up to 1 hour ( I think) recorded video in 1 piece.
  19. She could be as high as 300k - it's a good song and a very good video. And she is on top form. :)
  20. Maybe she wants to finish her contracted record deal , so she can renegociate or have a look at other offers ;) . I don't deny her that. Go, Riri! She's allways on the move, that girl.
  21. That song is very annoying in bits - at least the part taken from 'Dragostea Din Tei' by O-Zone . May-a-hee, may-a-haa.... Grrr , reminds me of the Numa guy, Brosla. It could have been done differently and be a very good song - although, saying that, it's selling very well in the US. Rihanna's voice is too jumbled at the beginning - I wish the mix was done better, if they really had to use that O-Zone hook.
  22. ^^Yes, they did it with Leona and was one of the best moments of that series. I don't know what Simon thinks, but I'm pretty sure he likes Geraldine :D .Seriously, he is A&R, I am sure he likes Gary Barlow very much. He said 'Rule The World is one of my all time favourites'.Plus, Geraldine, even if taking pot shots at X Factor with the single, helps raising the profile of the show. :) So, yeah, TT should be back on X Factor. It's a huge publicity platform. Or get back on Jonathan Ross's show.

  24. I like it. And , like Norma said, who cares who copies what? In the end, the material is important. Hopefully, no TT fan will confound the titles and buy the wrong album  There's a lot of fairground-type album covers/titles lately .

I would like to see Pink at the top for one more week. But , if not, I am glad to see The Saturdays or Geraldine there. :yahoo:
