  1. Well whatever dude, she's bigger than Madonna was 20 years ago, so she's the new Queen.
  2. Well she probably has passed it. I'm guessing she'll be Top 20 for at least another few weeks, and Top 40 for another month or two. I guess 500k is a possibility.
  3. No because it's "Chart Chat".
  4. I think this deserves its own thread. Shakira passes the 400k mark. They didn't delete Shakira, thank God! She wouldn't have become the biggest solo artist of the year otherwise.
  7. Well she's Number 12 at the moment on iTunes, with HDL. And LT seems to be gaining momentum, my local radio station just said they don't have the song to play yet, but will when they get it.
  8. Shakira's been played on Radio 2, at least once a day. Why isn't it on the list?
  9. La Tortura's been added to the MTV channels now. The song should do well, I think.

What's going on with the site?

It's got the most downloaded songs of the year on it, I think. And they did the update because in the USA, they've added movies to the store - it's a new thing, and the UK should get it next year some time.
  12. HDL's Number 3 still on the Hits chart. I hope that doesn't overshadow this release.
  13. I'll wait until later this week, the radio stations should be getting their copies soon.
  14. I'd wait until a press release until I'd get pissed.
  15. Dude, where have you been these past few days? LT is her official new single in the UK, the videos been added to all the music channels' playlists.
  16. 1) Shakira 2) Nelly Furtado 3) Chamillionaire The worst is a toss between Scissor Sisters' track - possibly the gayest thing to come out of 2006 - and Robbie Williams' - possibly the second gayest thing to come out of 2006.
  17. The album version from Oral Fixation Volume 2 (and possibly the radio edit) is half in English and half in Spanish. So the song might do very well. But there's no video to the "spanglish" edit, because they made the track after the song's massive success in English-language markets last year. I'm predicting the radio stations will get the English/Spanish version, and it'll be Top 5. Possibly No. 1 if there's nothing better out, but Top 5. If they only release the spanish version, I say Top 20 for certain, possibly Top 10.
  18. No it's a new single. The Box confirmed it.
  19. It means it's a special edition (so has extra material on it) but is only available to buy for a limited time (or it only has a few copies). e.g. The upcoming re-release of Star Wars is a limited edition, because it's only available until Boxing Day.
  20. Eye of the Tiger will reach the 1 million mark next year. It'll likely get re-released when the new Rocky film comes out.
  21. TOTP (the main show) was expensive to run and didn't get the ratings. For a cheap show, TOTP2 does fine. That's why TOTP1 was cancelled, but TOTP2 was brought back. This type of network decision is commonly refered to as "The Stargate Syndrome".
  22. I'm sure Shakira will be releasing both La Tortura and Illegal this year.

I reckon Shakira and Neyo will probably do the best out of this lot (Top 5 both, although Ne*Yo's not on top form in his one, unfortunately). Nylon's song is good too.
  24. Sony didn't expect HDL to be so popular, so they made their late summer/autumn plans already with Beyonce and other big name stars. This is really only Sony UK though. With no video for Illegal, they want to release something, so here it is. This might do well, and really do well. It's the only latino song out at the moment, and that could generate popularity. It's also different, and "excites" the average viewer. I dunno, they might feel cultured by the song, making it popular. It would be awesome if this makes the Radio 1 playlist. But I fear it'll suffer HDL-fever, and will have to ride on the success of the music video (no doubt it'll be popular).
  25. I only just realised your signature; Within Temptation are the group that sing Mother Earth!
