HDL Back to No.1
That's good to hear!

Sunday Chart Predictions
It's pretty much a given that Shakira will be Number 1 (they estimate a 4000 sales difference between her and Xtina) on Sunday. Do people think she'll be able to make it a third consecutive week at No. 1 (next week, and therefore the 4th week HDL has been Number 1)?

Sunday Chart Predictions
Shakira will be Number 1 this week. She might also manage to pull it off next week as well, as there's no competition from anyone.

Sunday Chart Predictions
That's excluding download sales. Shakira spiked up over Christina. Anyway, here's my Top 5 prediction: 1) Shakira - Hips Don't Lie 2) Christina Aguilera - Ain't No Other Man 3) Rihanna - Unfaithful 4) Paris Hilton - Stars Are Blind 5) Cascada - Everytime We Touch I also think Lily Allen will fall to Number 7, with James Morrison at Number 6.

Sunday Chart Predictions
I thought maxi-CDs don't count towards the single chart. Anyway, in reality how many people are going to pay more for a CD just with remixes on it? Other than DJs and avid fans, no-one.

VMA Nominations Revealed!
I think it's best dancability. So although the songs aren't dance, they can be danced too. Either Shakira or Madonna will win that one. Shakira and the Red Hot Chili Peppers lead this year's award nominations. The public also decided the nominations this year as well.

Sunday Chart Predictions
Animal City's Single version is considerably different to the album's version. They scrapped all the animals and arabian music for violins. And I think if Shakira creates anymore songs between now and the next album, it'll probably be added to a re-release of Fijacion Oral Volume 1 or with a tour DVD/greatest hits album.

Sunday Chart Predictions
Your post is a joke. The reason the song is getting no airplay IS BECAUSE IT'S DIFFERENT and new.

Sunday Chart Predictions
Not really. When was the last time the UK had a Third-world singer top the chart, go down the chart, and then climb back up?

Sunday Chart Predictions
Shakira's selling quite well in my local HMV and Virgin. People were picking up ones when they went and bought DVDs and stuff. The problem with Christina Aguilera's single is that it doesn't really stand out, at all. It's bland as ever.

Sunday Chart Predictions
I think they meant she was Number 1 on Monday, and it looks like she will remain Number 1 throughout this week.

Sunday Chart Predictions
If so, so what? I'd rather have her at Number 1 than bloody Lily "Crack-Ho" Allen.

Sunday Chart Predictions
Just nit-picking, but Rihanna's real name is Robyn Fenty. "Rihanna" is her middlename and her stage name, to make her sound less "white".

Sunday Chart Show
Yeah it's still good. Just out of curiosity, is she releasing a new album every year? I read that's her studio's aim for her.

Do you think Q Magazine will go the same way as Smash Hits?
Actually they were the same company, but Time Warner sold off its music making branch to investors.

Sunday Chart Predictions
I have to say, Shakira's been doing pretty well these past few weeks, considering she's only now getting radio promotion/play.
-
Sunday Chart Predictions
Let's hope so. If she does, it would also be another embarrassment for UK radio (especially the BBC).
-
Sunday Chart Predictions
She's only 700 hundred sales higher.

Sales
I'm shocked at how much single sales have declined since 2000.

Sunday Chart Predictions
Shakira is only a few hundred behind Lily Allen, and her sales have been increasing due to good word of mouth. Just like two weeks ago, she could over take Lily Allen (like she did with Nelly Furtado), and there is a lot of negative press coming Lily Allen's way too. Lily Allen won't sell as many copies this week as she did last week (I predict around or just above 25k), so if Shakira continues to sell more copies this week than she did last week, she'll return to the top spot.

Sunday Chart Predictions
I think: 1 Shakira 2 Lily Allen 3 Rogue Traders 13 Rihanna (Number 1 next week) 16 Shayne Ward

Good News - Midweeks
Also, weekend sales are a major factor in who's Number 1. That's why, when CD:UK used to be on Saturdays, they would get it wrong from time to time (e.g. once Victoria Beckham was Number 1 on the Saturday chart, but on the Sunday main one it was Sophie Ellis Bextor).

Good News - Midweeks
I like this song a lot (obvious by my screen name), and hope it gets to the top of the charts; it's definately Shakira's best single since WW, imo. I think Shakira is very talented, and whilst she may not be as great a singer as say Christina Aguilera, she's a better performer and entertainer. With HDL, I think the World Cup will also boost the song's success, because they're officially releasing the World Cup remix next week, which should equal more chart success for Shakira in the UK.
