  1. Now signed to Warp, his debut album has been announced as 'LOGGERHEAD' due 8th July with “Blame” now out as a single.
  2. -HJYessTtoc Wasn't sure which genre to put this in but I do love this, feel it fits better here as they are primarily a dance music act (heavily influenced by other genres like grime/hip-hop). Anyway, following up the Queer + Black EP from 2020 and the Spice EP from last year, as well as a number of recent collabs with Lynks, this is the brand new single from the Bristol based producer/DJ. Been really enjoying their EP recently but this new one is also sounding very good. They play the legendary Cavern Club in Exeter on Thursday !
  3. Wonder how the Labour Party parachuting in two fairly vocal supporters of a second referendum/remain from London in a 66% leave northern seat will go for them... @1224662165271056385 Keir Starmer is going to be furious with.. er, Keir Starmer.
  4. Missing the Top 40 was Leftfield's “Song of Life”. Charted at 59 on 6 December 92, and I can't find an HQ of it anywhere sadly.. but it's a BANGER. *.* Edit- decided to upload it from my CD single so it's at least somewhere on the internet!
  5. Hey Jade. Love to see Working Men's Club at #1- been enjoying hearing it at work because we have 6Music a lot on the radio, and the first LP that I put on when I moved into my new home was their self-titled debut.. on yellow vinyl no less. Very hyped for the new album for sure. Thanks for sending Ed Harrison to BJSC, that was a great discovery for me! Great also to see Grove in the Top 10 (she's got a new single called “Feed My Desire”), Mogwai climbing into the Top 20 and the new entries from Tove Lo, Barry Can't Swim, Puppi, Digitalism and BABii with another great single. Great chart, enjoyed the re-cap. : ) Aside: I found a Moscow Mule copper mug in my cupboards when I was moving, must've been from a night out or something.

Been reading this article about her: http://officemagazine.net/shygirl-siren-and-storyteller Comes across really well!

There is an official video for “Microdosing”. yzKB9Ojl3ls There's a great video here about the Jersey Club music scene, partly highlighting how women are finally being given the opportunity to break through in the heavily male dominated industry of music production. Great to see things turning around at the moment.

Oh wow, I love this. The production is stunning as always, but I like this other side being brough out with Shygirl riffing on her vulnerability. Very hyped for the album, it's another great single - Shygirl is absolute ️‍🔥 Cecile Believe on backing vocals too <3
  9. "technical problems" I think the words ur looking for Rishi are 'because we're ideologically committed to making poor people pay for this crisis and protecting the incomes of the wealthy'. @1525055792654831616
  10. Votes are in. Thankfully Semi 2 q's really made up for my losses in Semi 1, with colossal hype going to Aeroche, Skall and (for about the 8th consecutive month) Kathaldazia for sending some absolute rammers. *.*
  11. I'd say there is close to zero chance of Starmer being fined (particularly now it would have such massive consequences), it's a smart move IMO but not one without some risks and one I'm surprised about it because until now he's pretty much made absolutely no decisions on what to say/think until either.. a) he has focussed grouped it to death, or b) all other options have been ruled out and it's the blindingly obvious move- seems like it has wrong-footed a lot of the Tories too, and their usual outriders in the media. Actually I'm quite pleased that it's highlighted and exposed just how much client journalism there is... the awful Harry Cole seemed to throw his toys out of the pram today :D and the walking 404 error that is (((Dan Hodges))), of course the accusations of hypocrisy from Cole are apt because The Sun had it's own Christmas party in 2020 which very much broke the law (as was reported in Private Eye) which is why they were the only paper to not lead with the Allegra Stratton story in December.. and then we have the Daily Fail.. @1523776258974265344
  12. Great that this made #1! I love the jangly, brooding Cure sounding guitars in at the start of this. <3 the gall of Fine Gael and the fail of Fianna Fáil is a great political line for the leftists. *.*

  14. Hey Kath, Fantastic to see Overmono locking out the Top 2 - hopefully another T10 for you in BJSC! I'm also really loving the new singles from HAAi, Vitesse X and Working Men's Club. Love that Poté entry you've got on the chart too. I've charted a few singles by him in the past (“Mortal” and “Stare”) but this is really something different and I do enjoy it a lot from the preview so thanks for sharing. : ) Cheers for the DM, I'm ok thanks- been a difficult few weeks with my grandmother passing away but I'm ok just not around as much at the mo. Hope u have a great weekend!
  15. From Prof John Curtis: Can't see anything but a Conservative win at GE2024 sadly, but I've lost all hope in politics quite frankly and couldn't care less anymore. :(
  16. 😞 sad to lose both my 12 and 10. Maybe Koreless could have done better with “Shellshock” or “Joy Squad”, although I just think it was a pretty unfavourable semi sadly.. Thanks to whoever it was who sent Doechii, that was a great discovery pour moi.
  17. Really enjoying this new EP from Malaysian-Irish singer/producer Yunè Pinku (aka Asha Yuné). It's her debut and an incredibly diverse mix of late 90s/early 2000s type sounds and styles, kinda fitting in to the whole 2k22 drum and bass revival (that Eric Blob told me wasn't happening...) adopted by GenZ, and the great thing about it is whilst it is very nostalgic, there's a lot of new sounds and ideas here that makes it sound very refreshing. Apparently she initially grew up disliking electronic music because of her mum endlessly playing trance music around the family home! She now describes her taste as “heavy garage bangers with time to chill in the middle”. Worth a listen. : ) New single is “DC Rot” - which navigates her own struggles with anxiety and recalibrating as the world reopened post pandemic. 19. @1519980773780115457 Far from being a 'free speech champion' he is, like his fellow aging men like Toby Young, another gammon that just wants 'free speech for people I agree with'. I'm not on Twitter, nor any social media platform, but I do follow and read some posts of those I am interested in following (using Nitter, as Twitter now no longer allow you to view posts without joining) - when you view the complete cesspit of unfettered opinions that amplify and channel the very worst characteristics of humanity there are some valid arguments in having some moderation and an ability to protect people from harm.. to say so does not imply that you are anti-Free Speech, and I do fear that the hate and harm unleashed from those emboldened by Musk's rhetoric may be hugely damaging to society.
  20. He used to support Ipswich Town? Oh, I get it. :basil: This is all very Alan Partridge esque isn't it! OM_3iXd9Xqc
  21. BPRMLI4-EKY ^New single is actually pretty good, reminds me of the old Bloc Party with its shimmering guitars, driving bassline and beautiful melodic chorus. Like it's still 2004 and everything is still great. :(
  22. I love it, they've taken the production on from their previous album (which had Faris Badwan of the Horrors and SOPHIE on production duties) and made it their own - there are some great bangers in the 1st half and the 2nd part is more reflective and calmer side of the album, which deals in part with the losses they've both experienced over the past few years (“In the Cemetery”). There was a great review from Alexis Petridis in the Guardian on Thursday: https://www.theguardian.com/music/2022/apr/...-ribbons-review

  24. The new ones are a bit disappointing after the solid bangers of “LDN VBZ” and “Within These Walls” but still a good EP overall. : )
  25. I don't think Johnson will be going anywhere sadly, it's far easier for the Conservatives to use him to soak up all the bad feeling and misery that comes with the substancial increase in cost of living this year- and then change leader in 2023 to present a 'new front' from which to win the General Election again the following year. It's what they do. The toxic environment that has been created in the aftermath of the Brexit vote, which has enabled someone as utterly unfit for office as Johnson to become PM, is not going away.. There was a telling comment from Johnson this week to the opposition benches: 'they've got no ideas'. I see no signs of any optimism for this country, the United Kingdom will continue to fall apart sadly.
